Only the Allegretto possesses a song-like quality and we realise only then how ‘the song as the bird that lives on branches sings’ (to paraphrase Goethe in Der Sänger) had been lacking up to that point. The nostalgic smile that is unique to Schubert dominates this movement. The crucial point of the movement comes half- way through, when the theme, which by that point had crept up to a radiant F sharp major, slides barely noticeably into a much mellower A major, in a way that resembles a gentle reminder that our time is limited - a topic that occupied Schubert in many poignant songs. The final Presto quotes the beginning of the sonata, as if in a feverish dream.
Whenever I listen to your performance, I'm always thankful for living in this world. Beautiful...
When I heard him a few years ago at that Japanese competition for young piansts I couldn`t believe the maturity in someone so young. How man pianists could fine so much music in this? You think you`re listening to Brendel or Arrau but it`s this 20 someting student. Unblievable. Here`s hoping the stars align and Cakmur gets the major career he deserves.
Thank you so much for your kind words and wishes!
Bravo ! .
It is an honour! Thank you very much
