Hey Guys! Today's video is my monthly budget with me for November 2020 in my budget planner. I'm sharing my monthly budget, debt tracker, saving tracker, sinking funds, and goals for the month of November. How are you guys preparing for the holidays!? Are you using a budget planner to stay on top of everything?

Hi Elena, can you make a video about how to budget if someone is getting paid end of month? Getting 1 month ahead is very tough. Thank you in advance

I keep avoiding budgeting this week because I just made a huge purchase. But seeing your videos lessen my anxiety and I realized that it's alright to buy something that we want as long as we're still doing our responsibility.
Thank you for your consistency. I always get something meaningful every time you post.

#GOALS, I have about $6500 left on my car and have also began an aggressive repayment plan to be finished in January. Just in time to restart student loan repayments, yay!! Payments will cancel one another out and have minimal effect on my current budget. Then it will be time to reconfigure the budget. Look forward to seeing your progress!!!

I would definitely love to see more of your paycheck to paycheck budget videos. I've binged practically all of your videos at this point, but numbers have never really been my thing and I'm pretty new to trying to get myself on a written budget, so I need all the help LOL. Plus, I'm a visual learner, so I like to see what someone is doing as it's being explained. 🙂

Keep going on your budget! I paid off $10k in student loans, and my last car payment is $490 which will be paid off in January. So, with that said, I can finish off my credit card debts faster with the extra paid off car payment. Just remember, I keep a $1000 emergency fund on hand in case some disaster hits (it did last month with car breaking down, but now building it back up again).

Excellent info. And for both you and your husband to have successful businesses (self-employed) is amazing. Your blog is fabulous, and your info is excellent. We are debt free except our mortgage. And we’re headed toward paying that off in less than 5 years. It’s new build and we just closed on it spring of 2019. We use a spreadsheet with a lot of tabs for our expenses. We allocate funds to each category (e.g. hair/nails; Christmas; Other Gifts; Auto Mntnc; Groceries, etc.). We actually paid cash for our most current brand new vehicle for the first time. W have one vehicle that’s older but in great shape. No car payments! When we paid payments for our cars, after paying them off, we just kept that payment going into savings so that years later when it came time for a new car, we’d either have a huge down payment or could pay cash for it’s entire cost. It felt so great to buy a luxury car with cash paid in full! Anyway. Thx for the marvelous videos. You share very personal info in order to teach others. That’s very kind of you.

You can pay off the car by the end of the year!!! 2020 has been a crazy year, go into 2021 with a bang!!! Use some of your savings, how fast can you build up that savings again? My guess would be really fast because you don’t want to feel vulnerable. You can do it, I’ll be paying off $24k of student loans by the end of the year and I don’t have the income you have but at the same time I will saving at least one month of expenses just to feel some financial stability, and throw everything at the debt.

So it’s ok to contribute to Savings, even though you have large Debts?? Why not pay more off the Debts, then Save? It costs you more in interest. Can you tell us your thinking behind this, please? I’ve been asking this of myself, for when my 0% interest period ends.

    • @TheOrganizedMoney

Hey. It's for my own sense of security. A couple of years ago, I brought our savings down to $1,000 to pay off debt. I paid down $25,000 before we got hit with a bunch on unexpected expenses. Things we couldn't avoid like our refrigerator breaking down. I didn't have enough in savings to cover all of the unexpected expenses and I had to use a credit card. It was heart breaking. Because I no longer had a savings and now I was in more debt.
This time around, I decided to save along with paying off debt. Yes, I pay more in interest. Yes, it will take me longer....but I have a sense of security that I didn't have before and I am focused on my goal. We will reach our goal and we will be able to handle anything that comes our way in the process.
