      Wind your neck in. Nobody was denying anyone their freedom. Trouble is with people like you it doesn't matter how respectful the police are, you'd still have your gripe. Someone made a complaint and they had a duty to check..simple! whether you like it or not.

    That officer that acknowledged you shaking and reassured you not to worry was a nice thing to do, I was pulled over very aggressively a while ago because my car matched a description of one that had been involved in an incident, wasn't me ide just got up to go to work 10 mins before, and the way they pulled me Iver shook me right up, shouting, took my keys, got me out the car, searched the car, and not one of them asked or acknowledged I was shaking like a leaf, then at the end they insulted my car and left me. Its nice to know there are some decent ones.

    Decent interaction by the cops, no unnessesary talking, directives etc. Did he actually stop you? He said "the reason you're being stopped is.." but I didn't hear him say that you're stopped.. Had you been wanting to push it you could've asked him if you're detained.. But overall they did well.

    The Building has 315 rooms / offices. 2 sub levels + an underground railway that is hardly used now, only a small engine. inside there is a beautiful huge, high ceiling and 2 Marble Staircases. we have no such beautiful buildings being built these days.. such a shame. AND there is NO tunnel that leads from the MI5 building to MI6,

    A good interaction but if they managed to get an image of your face they will probably have identified you. If you have submitted a digital photo for your DL or passport they can quite easily match you to those photos. I would imagine that the cameras on the MI5 building are good enough for that.

I was impressed by the more modern steel shuttering for security was given a really artistic look. The Police were exactly as you would want for any interaction, polite, knowledgeable, understood what the score was but being very experienced personnel knew how to deal whilst having no ego trip, nothing to prove.

    The building was constructed in 1929-30 by John Mowlem & Co on riverside land cleared after the disastrous 1928 Thames flood severely damaged run-down residential properties. It was built to designs by Sir Frank Baines, of the Government's Office of Works. It is of design uniform with but not identical to Imperial Chemical House which is opposite it on the north side of Horseferry Road; while Imperial Chemical House was exclusively for ICI, Thames House originally had various uses, including the London headquarters of International Nickel Ltd. Baines's design owes much to the 'Imperial Neoclassical' tradition of Sir Edwin Lutyens and deliberately ties in with the Imperial design of Lambeth Bridge when it was redesigned from 1929. High up on the frontage are statues of St George and Britannia sculpted by Charles Sargeant Jagger. It was owned by Thames House Estates until it was sold to the British Government in 1994. Thames House Estates was jointly owned by ICI and Prudential for many years and subsequently was wholly owned by ICI.

      'Pastiche'- 'Georgian/Regency' (1714-1830) style fenestration mixed with 'Romanesque' (c900-1200) Neo-Classical arches and 'Stucco' 'Neo- Renaissance' exteriors , so a mish mash of every style before or since. Maybe even some Neo-Gothic features. They should've thrown some 'mock Tudor' in there for good measure (maybe they have). A modern mix of old architecture that always ends up out of place...at least thats my take on it...

    Rice v. Connolly (1966) is an English legal precedent holding that there is no strict, general legal duty to assist a police officer prior to any possible arrest or caution, with even basic police enquiries nor to accompany the officer to a requested location.
    Citation(s): [1966] 2 QB 414,
    This was confirmed in Neale v DPP (2021)
    Quashing Mr Neale’s conviction, the High Court stated that:
    the Appellant was under no common law obligation to give the police his name and address;
    the right to silence is not reserved only for the innocent and those beyond suspicion (in Mr Neale’s case he was, in fact, acquitted of the offence he had been accused of);
    the right to remain silent is a particularly important part of our law. In addition, an obligation to give a name and address to the police would engage Articles 6 and 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights;

    The police where pretty cool actually. I mean they where just doing there job and where quick to discern you as a zero threat. And auditor. Both the auditor and police showed great cooperation together. And quick discernment.

    Police were fine and followed procedures. It is an impressive building and just down the road from it is the Tory headquarters where I've worked. Was this filmed at the weekend as it seemed very quiet and no staff entering. Inside there are metal detectors and armed guards with Machine Guns, so i'm amazed they take you as a threat.

    The building looks, what's the word I'm looking for...... stunning! @6:17 - So I guess those security pillars go into the ground if vehicles need to enter or exit this stunning building.

    The 2 bike cops acted fairly tbh, but still a waste of public money sending them out to a man with a camera

    cant blame these police, they just have to do their job to question you. at least that way if any is lying and does something malicious, they have proof of their lies

    The title should read "MI5 armed parliamentary motorcycle police called to a man with a camera filming the MI5 building" What did you think would happen?? Good to see our police being hands on in the defence of our country. I thought they were very professional. Your title seems to say that they should not have challenged you. You must have seen the interaction AB recieved and thought well let's see if I get a reaction.
