Minor tip for unboxings: Mark the area that's in frame so stuff doesn't go out of shot. I really didn't like the castellated hat on my x52-pro, and glued a rubber grommet into it for comfort. Hope this one is less sharp feeling.
@@FalconsLedge I think it's worth doing . Packaging has become more and more important now we're not buying these things from physical stores. Knowing the product is packed well enough to survive transit is important.
Heard the Star Citizen music in the background and knew I was in the right place :D I also have my X-56 throttle which I use for speed & thrust limiter, pedals for forward/reverse thrust, and left stick is a T16000 for left/right & up/down strafe, though I'll probably upgrade that one soonish. The Mk3 is pitch/yaw/roll.
Nice. I think unboxing videos are great and beneficial, it's always great to see what's actually in the box. Reading a list is not the same. Elite will be part of my review. I don't play elite anymore, but I played it for a long time :). My solution right now is a $20 home built solution that I'll do a quick review of during an upcoming how to video where I'll be building some monster tech style mounts. Maybe monstertech will send me some mounts to test and compare with the home built variety? Would be an interesting combination.
@@FalconsLedge I’m looking at WinWing’s Orion 2 as well thinking of updating the HOTAS as a whole. Would you go with WinWing? Do you feel the stick is solid or worth the upgrade? I’m in this weird position of choosing between the 3 companies.
@@SL8408 I think Virpils solution is higher quality, but also more expensive. VKB makes great products, but I think the Orion 2 and t-50CM3 gimbal give the Gunfighter a run for it's money for sure, beating it in some respects

Could you try DCS World? I recommend the F-18C module as your first, and possibly one and only module. It's a carrier capable multirole fighter jets that does many things(hence multirole)
I will definitely be using DCS with the gunfighter. My accuracy test is mid air refueling for sticks. Outside the review side of things, I am planning a whole series on DCS this year, I have just been waiting for 2.7 to get started. I have the f-18, F-16, and F-5E. I plan to pick up a module at each 50% off sale.
@@FalconsLedge Great to hear you are using DCS! I recommend mastering modules before buying too many. Don't fall into the more the merrier trap! The number of modules you have don't matter. What matters is mastery!
@@AliBaba-vw7mo thank you very much for the suggestion. I'll pick some more up, but this year I have a goal to become fluent on one. Either hornet or viper.
I currently have a Gladiator NXT. One thing that stands out is the Gunfighter Mk III and the Gladiator NXT sticks are identical. I am considering upgrading to the Gunfighter Mk III, only to get the cam system. Question. Having used the Gladiator NXT which feels great, is the Gunfighter Mk III with its cams, much better feeling, or just a little better feeling than the Gladiator NXT?
The biggest difference is the ability to change and customize the feel to your desires. the ability to use extensions is also a big deal, because remember the major advantage of a joystick over a game pad is granularity, a larger area of movement allows for more granular use of the sensors, and thus more accuracy. One other nice thing is that you can actually purchase a conversion kit from VKB in the accessories section that can convert your NXT stick to connect to the Gunfighter base if you are pinching pennies. If you fly space sims you can also just buy a left handed stick and have dual stick. You just have to swap out the bottom piece that connects to the gunfigter/NXT between them. As it seems, they are literally identical save those parts.
Don't know if you read these comments still. But do you know if in the NXT if you remove the spring to go forward and back will it hold its position? Or will it just flopped back and forth?
I read every comment! So it will be quite loose, but the grease that provides the amazing dampening should minimize that slop a little. I've played with the idea of modifying mine with a couple rc car shocks and a couple magnets to make a space throttle of sorts
I just got NXT's two months ago, how's the dampening compare? If I go to re-buildables I may stick with vkb if they feel as goodish as the NXT's. I haven't put mine at 45 degrees yet but plan to, and already have up/down strafe on left twist. It's not bad it was probably a week for it to not feel completely weird
That's funny, but dampening actually means both. Which is both interesting and disturbing at the same time: damp·en /ˈdampən/ verb gerund or present participle: dampening 1. make slightly wet. "the fine rain dampened her face" 2. make less strong or intense. "nothing could dampen her enthusiasm"
