    A BLDC Motor is not really a DC motor. Connecting it to a DC source will simply burn it up without making it turn. It is actually a Three Phase PMAC (Permanent Magnet AC) motor. It requires three phase AC power output from the motor controller and also rotational position information (typically from three Hall Effect sensors or an optoisolator array but sometimes Back EMF sensing.) which tells the controller when to send high or low pulses, either sine wave or square/trapezoidal wave, to which sets of coils and when, so that they produce a field which repels or attracts the magnets on the rotor as it turns within the stator. The motor can also function as a 3 phase alternator by simply spinning the rotor. Some motor controllers can convert this output back into DC current to charge the same batteries that supply the controller when it is making the motor turn. However, a simple 3 phase bridge rectifier can also make DC from the alternator output, though it is not a smooth DC. With a rectifier, the controller is not needed.
    Since a rotational force is needed to turn it, the output of the motor/alternator is NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT free. You are simply converting rotational energy to a particular form of electrical energy. You are only getting as much energy out, as you are putting in, MINUS the inefficiency of the motor, wiring, rectifier, etc. There is no free energy here. No. None. Not one bit. Not a microwatt. Not anything. No free energy. Read that again. No Free Energy.
    However, that is a good experiment for someone interested in learning how electrical power is produced. You can also easily build a 3 phase alternator out of plywood, fiberglass, magnets, copper wire, epoxy, trailer wheel shafts and bearings, and a few other bits and peices, that can output 1kw or more of power. BUT... it is nt free power. You must use some energy to turn the rotor. Typically this is wind or water power. Both are in abundance and easily captured, but you are not creating energy. You are simply converting energy that was already there, with some losses.

    should built some sort of weather vane to it some so the wind could spin it for you then you wouldn't have had someone spin it for you to get power from it ...

    NOT True! Max voltage ever registered on the meter was a little over 6V. And... it certainly was not putting out 5 Amps. So the title "Make a 24V 5 Amps Electric Dynamo Generator..." is a complete falsehood. and I just wasted 10 minutes of my life.

    actually a nice video showing a legit generator!
    But the name "free energy generator" can be misleading. Either the generator or the energy is free.
    Free energy: Impossible. But free generator: easily doable.
    That's why I would recommend you to just remove the word free from the title. That way you do not get dislikes

    Thanks ... great representation ... good application for custom phev hybrid when you can buy two bldc motors and convert one as a generator to power another one ... especially in amateur aircraft market. In hybrid one converted motor would have to support higher rev (the one attached to a crankshaft). Or to convert washing machines bldc motor to a high power wind generator.

  • @chinmoy1955
    @chinmoy1955 7 років тому +1

    You are innovative and ingenious, but buddy you still have to learn a few stuff!
    Firstly, you need to improve your soldering skills....you should never touch your soldering iron tip repeatedly to a soldered joint once the solder has cooled and solidified. It is going to cause sharp peaks and a "dry" joint as you can see from your video. If you do need to re-touch, first apply a small bit of flux to the joint, and then apply the hot iron. That's a practical tip.
    Secondly, It is not a free energy device, but a simple AC generator. You need to provide power (energy) to drive it, so where is the "free" energy?
    Thirdly, you don't need a BLDC motor for this, any DC motor, eg. toy motors, can produce electric power to drive a couple of LED's. In fact, the permanent magnet toy motors will directly produce DC power, so you don't even need a bridge rectifier etc. for converting the AC current into DC, like you have done with the BLDC.
    But overall, you have given a very good practical demo in this project, good luck and keep experimenting!

    • @MrElectron
      @MrElectron  7 років тому +1

      Actually i didn't clean my soldering iron so it needed a second try.
      Also, the objective of the video wasn't glowing the leds but converting a BLDC Motor into a generator.
      Thanks for such a nice comment :)
      Wisdom well received.
