Thanks to Andy for letting us film his Akrapovic Exhaust being fitted at Awesome GTi in Irlam, Manchester. It's not the cheapest exhaust system out there at £8000 ish but is it going to sound good and will it be worth the hefty price tag?

Out of the 3 exhausts I’ve heard u show so far, I think the stock still sounds better ,
There’s only one thing to do to unlock the v8 sound and that’s straight pipe the bastard .
This akrapovic exhaust sounds way better than the miltek in my opinion

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that. He has 8k spare to spend on the best exhaust and you clearly don't. In this case he can't have more money than sense as in order to have that sort of money for an exhaust you have to conclude he has alot of sense. Horses for courses. He can afford it so let him buy it and be happy for him.

The sound is just right and yes I agree about the miltek, that's why I taken mine of my S4 and had a custom one made.
The blue wrap and those wheels and the stance make the RS6 look amazing 😍

I was looking at different exhausts for my RS6. The best solution I found was a resonator delete for the stock exhaust. It makes the stock exhaust a bit louder and considerably deeper across the full RPM range. The best part is, it only cost US$1,000 for a set of car back pipes. You can get it done at a muffler shop for a couple of hundred dollars where they’ll simply cut out the resonators and replace them with a piece of straight pipe.
I dyno tested my car afterwards and I picked up 7 HP which is what’s advertised by all the aftermarket full exhausts.
The major tuning houses have all said that Audi did a really good job on the current generation of RS exhausts. Aftermarket solutions are minimal gains and are just for some sound.

You two at it again Del and rodders, I can think of more things to spend 8K on. I've cancelled the RS6 and ordered a Porsche 911Turbo S In Agate Gray.
No way is that worth 8k, get a custom job 3inch no baffles and your blow that out of the water.
The akra sounds amazing but 8K! You could spend 3k on a custom one from the guys who did your RS4 and spend the rest on mapping and further mods 👌🏻

Ye I'd personally get downpipes and resonator delete. And then with the change get some mapping done with other bits too
I don't care about the volume, it's about how it sounds. The Standard 'sounds' good but is very quiet. The Miltek just sounds like it's straight piped with no R&D, goes purely for volume and just sounds shite. This genuinely sounds better than the standard exhaust, the deep V8 tone is spot on.

Manny Khoshbin just spent €26,000 on a travel bag which fits in the luggage area of his new McLaren Speedtail. Makes £8k for a whole exhaust system look like a bargain.

Definitely better than the miltek but I’m still not sure if it’s 8k better than your stock exhaust which already sounds epic. Personally, I would be tempted to get a true custom made like you had on the Rs4.

Guys were also Akrapovic sport cats installed on this blue RS6, or not? It did sound underwhelmed without the sport cats in - compared to the one I saw on youtube with full exhaust done. I just ordered the full Akrapovic exhaust - Sport Downpipes, Link pipes and back box. I think it will blast your eardrums if you put Milltek's catless downpipes + Akrapovic full exhaust, but that is probably not legit in the UK?

Worth the money sound as it should
I'd be more inclined to get a totally custom titanium exhaust made in the UK for that. More personal experience and it'll still sound and perform incredible. Each to their own, its still certainly a superb exhaust.
Does sound good but first interesting to hear the other exhaust alongside it and also as you said from inside. Second how much...
installed one on my RS6 but not much difference from stock. A bit better low end throb but not enough. Was looking for a garage shaking low end rumble but... having said that the 4500-6500 rpm range sounds better. Exhaust pops and bangs are up about 10% from zero before. Worth that much dosh? probably not

That’s not bad. I paid £600 in 1996 for a Mongoose system for my RS Turbo. And yes I’m that old.

@@Steve-fn8hs I’m revo stage 1 from new and revo intake not sure I can justify revo stage 2...car is plenty quick enough already 👍
@@Langers69er I agree. It's only 12 BHP more although the reviews say you can notice it. I think it's only £137 (ish) if you've stage 1. You need an upgraded intercooler though so not sure it's worth the £600 + for the lot and fitted.

Problem with exhaust sounds on youtube, is that they never sound as good as they do in real life :) Nothing beats being overtaken by a RS6 on the highway.. just have to get my windows down on my A3 to be able to hear it on full throttle.
I know it's all relative and all that and I drive an c7.5 RS7, but I would struggle to justify 8k on exhaust.
Silly question, what is it about this exhaust that causes it to sound better than a "cheaper" exhaust, i.e. why does the more expensive exhaust cost that much more.
I'm aware that it is all titanium, but is that all that makes it sound better ?
Now you got to put an ipe exhaust on the rs4 and see the difference

Possibly mate yeah. Just means the cats and OPF have to be mapped out 👍🏼
Or just take the middle silencer out. Maybe nothing needs mapping out then and less chance of drone.

Chopping the silencers might of done a similar job? Couldn’t u just do the on ur rs6 straight pipe it.
