This is like a cardboard canoe regatta I saw years ago. It was all about image and style. Not sure why someone would go to great lengths to create something that ultimately doesn't work unless you like slapstick. Like this gala event, all of the outlandish canoes sank within a minute or two. One thoughtful designer with an engineering mindset was able to run circles around the sinking vessels. He didn't win a trophy for style but I guess success is its own reward. I'm sure if these guys put just a little effort into it we would see some actual flight.
does anyone know the rules as far as controls go for rudders and foils for the wings. that last one looks like he pops the foil last second and gets that killer glide. no expert here just wondering

@sushicartman01 Its been around since 1987 but was in Austria only until 1989 when it was expanded to other European countries and then was introduced to america in 1997

@TheRobsProductions well my apologies go to you then sir, the event was originally invented in the 70's in England called "birdman" but then redball took it over 91 and renamed by the creator of redball, I'm guessing he couldnt find anything appropriate in Austrian that other people could say easily lol
