Wow, I didnt think I could get so much from just a painting. I'm always learning something new from this channel. Thanks
I'm very happy to see you discussing more turn-of-the-century artworks!
I love impressionism. It captures a living moment so well, and the colours are so key to creating a good result.
You’re spoiling us Smarthistory!
Brilliant! Good voice, intelligent! And an amazing Artist Painter.
Sometimes it's easy to forget how long a history certain companies have here in the US..
"...chaos that I do associate with the feeling and experience of shopping." That's how I'd describe it too. Not the biggest fan of shopping. 😅
I appreciate how much detail can be discerned despite the loose brushwork and wonder what a fine version of this would've looked like.
And now department stores and shopping malls are evaporating as everyone shops on the internet. Thanks for introducing me to an interesting artist I did not know.
Thanks for my art homework
Great !!
Merci infiniment pour partager 😊
It looks almost pious as the eyes are focused on the shoes and the heads are bowed and the hands clasped in what resembles worship.

Very interesting, but I think you're reading more into this painting than the artist gave it, specifically the commentary abou factory work and women's suffrage.
