I visited Liverpool last month for a couple of days and did the Beatles bus tour and it was great,I live down the coast from Glasgow and I've been a Beatles fan since they released their first single but had never been before,my kids paid for a couple of overnights and the tour for my 70th birthday and it was amazing,really enjoying your vlogs
I really need to say that I’ve really liked Spencer through these vlogs, not that I ever disliked him or anything, don’t want to give that impression at all, but really impressed with him. I think he’s done a great job, not the typical Americans in UK vlog, these ones I’ve enjoyed immensely, and I find the drunk vlogs hilarious
Agreed, I noticed he gets some stick from viewers for this or that, but ultimately he did his research, crammed a hell of a lot into his trip, and had the balls to do it solo. That all gets my respect

Reality is areas of the South and East are the most forgotten parts of the UK where we have nothing at all to do with London.

Im Belgian. I went to England for the first time in april this year. I stayed 11 days. Went to London, Liverpool, York and Bristol. Liverpool was also a bucket list for me. It's so fun seeing it again. Going back next year. The UK is awesome

Great you had a fab time in Liverpool my home town, I miss living there so much! I've done the whole Beatles thing few years ago. I was lucky enough to spend about 4 hours with Paul , Linda and members of the Wings band, and even his brother Mike in a hotel bar after his concert. I sneakily took home Paul's champagne bottle along with all their autographs. Paul even included my name in a song, which he sang back to me.! What a night that was, I only wish we had mobile phones back then as my 35mm camera ran out of film in the concert!

That venue opposite the cavern club eric's is also historic its where a lot of the punk bands used to play and where the likes of echo and the bunnymen made their name. Also the real people who oasis were "inspired" by.

My first experience of an underground train was in Liverpool. My gramps called the city by its old, Welsh name Llynlleifiad. When I returned to England, three years later, aged eight, I became accustomed to London's Underground, but Llynlleifiad was my first. During my six yrs at school in Westminster, we sang at Liverpool's Anglican/Episcopal cathedral several times. It's the largest church in Britain.
How interesting, I have never heard my home town in Welsh, I'm 20% Welsh, so well chuffed!
Over the years we have been told that LL in Welsh is pronounced as a C. Is there any chance you could tell us how to pronounce Liverpool in the Welsh language.

Great to hear you visited my hometown Liverpool. Pity you're not staying longer. You should have went on a pub crawl in city centre around concert square, lots of bars and clubs and hot girls. You could have visited Liverpool Football Club, both cathederals, China town, meet paddy the baddy a Liverpool lad,museums, get the magical mystery tour bus. The ship on the other side of the river was the Irish ferry, the smaller ship on Liverpool side is the Isle of Man ferry the place where isle of man TT race is held. Great to see you're enjoying your trip becoming a true brit, touring the pubs, getting pissed and getting a donner kebab. I can laugh about it now but 20 something years ago I went on a pub crawl in Liverpool, drank too much beer and went for a kebab in berry street. Me and my mate were being served when a big group of teens came in hurling abuse at me and my mate which ended up a large fight, we were greatly outnumbered, my mate got knocked out and I had 6 teeth knocked out. So if you go for a takeaway after the pubs, if you sense any trouble, get out of there.❤

Britain has often been defined by Americans as being wet and cloudy. You've demonstrated thzt indeed is true - wet with copious amounts of beer, and with clouded memories the next day! 😅

Grew up in Liverpool as a child, 60s and 70s. Seems a bit weird to see it as a tourist mecca , especially the dock area and the city centre. If I have one criticism, it's the over-emphasis on The Beatles. There is a lot more to the city than The Beatles. The cathedrals, the architecture, ferry cross the Mersey, some great parks etc. It's still a great city, but with the constant regeneration and building...like London it is in danger of losing its identity.
I was a 50s child and left in 77. At 8:30 they went down Button Street past what was the rear entrance to Philip Son and Nephew and my mum worked there for a while. Its a Wetherspoons now. My primary school was demolished and houses built on the land. My secondary school was demolished but rebuilt as a more modern building(s). Where I worked behind the bar when I was 18 should be on the Beatles tour but it was also demolished, the Aintree Institute. It was one of the smaller places where the Beatles did some gigs away from the Cavern Club. I also used to frequent Erics. I (along with thousands of others) was born in the same hospital as Paul McCartney which is where his mother worked as a midwife. My dad was a dock gateman working in the Langton Dock office. I sometimes went there after school and then went home with him when he finished. He let the police on the dock gate know I was expected and they just waved me through and I walked through the docks unaccompanied. Can't imagine that sort of thing happening now.
Funny really, as a scouser myself I always thought if the Beatles had been from somewhere in America they’d have named the town after them. It took a long time before Liverpool really exploited their legacy.

The house Spencer is in is huge and nothing like an average British home .The guys a natural in front of a camera .

Love that at 3.55 my hometown is in the background. Yes I'm a wool!, but it takes me no more than 8 minutes to get into the city, my Irish parents picked that side just...because, idk. Liverpool is home to me, and the best place, nightlife, atmosphere (and people, on earth)

In town, a bit peckish..Ah! There's a Gregg's. A sausage roll and a coffee. That'll do.
They're spectacularly mid. I really enjoy a Greggs steak bake and sausage roll. Is it because it's the best quality? No! It has a certain comfort value to it. The same way that Bisto gravy isn't gourmet gravy but it reminds me of childhood Sunday dinners.
@@JamesLMason Oh for sure. If I had to give Greggs, overall, a rating, where 0 is death, 50 is dead middle no flavour, and 100 is gourmet, I'd give them a 60 to 67, or thereabouts. That is still a good score for what is effectively fast food.

The Rolling Stones played one type of music and were amazing at what they did. The Beatles played every type of music and were amazing at all of them, with out of this world lyrics. That's the difference between The Stones and The Beatles.

My dad had that same computer disc that had all The Beatles releases! It was amazing and so many of my friends borrowed it. Really indulged my growing Beatles obsession.
Greggs doesn't offer incredibly tasty food, so I'm not surprised you found the pizza mediocre. The Mexican baguette, however, is so tasty and bloody wonderful! Greggs is more a British institution and a place many of us grew up with when shopping in town centres across the country. If you fancy a warm snack, pop into Greggs!
Tell you what mate I’m not from Liverpool, I’m from Leeds. But if you’re there for a weekend, especially a Sunday day session. There’s no place better in England. Live music everywhere, which I think you’d appreciate. Plus scousers are a fucking right laugh. But Leeds is always better 😉

I will lay money you will be back. Do try and do some of the non touristy parts of London e.g Richmond etc. Also, Edinburgh is a must. And if the channel does well...fk the hostels, and stay in some interesting hotels. There are still a few that are reasonable!

Just a quick note to you mate.from the 4th minute in of your vlog you are standing with your back to the River Mersey and the River has a great connection with the US. The American civil war which began on April 12th in 1861 was officially declared over on November the 6th 1865 when the CSS Shenandoah surrendered in the Mersey bringing the end of the civil which also brought a end to slavery in the US.
Did you know that the only confederate embassy was in Liverpool? I was shown it one time (while driving past) don’t remember where it was though (although I’m sure Mr Google could tell you)😉
@@lynby6231 Yes I did know that. The building is in Rumford place. I have walked past it many times. If you ever come to Liverpool there are more grade 1 listed buildings than anywhere outside of London. Plus there are great museums and art gallery's.

We were in London a couple of weeks back and spent half an hour in Clapham Junction station sandwiched between sequinned Swifties going to Wembley and the spectacularly-dressed racegoers leaving Ascot.
That’s definitely an above average UK home. It’s larger than most with a good sized garden. Glad you got on ok with the pet sitting agency the name of which I’ve forgotten. Relatives of mine from Idaho used the same agency in January and spent a month in a lovely house in London, just looking after one very friendly dog. They had a great time.

@@Roz-y2d From what I can see in the back garden shots, that appears to be a detached house, and they are most definitely not the standard type of house in the UK. Semi-D or terraced are the most common homes, and although some of those can be bigger than some detached houses, a detached house is still regarded as a step up. So I still think it’s an above average home.

@@Roz-y2d If you have a look at one of the first house videos when he’s in the back garden you can see gates on both sides of the house, which made me believe it’s detached. It might be the jacuzzi one or when he’s petting the dogs in the garden. I’m not saying it’s a huge house, but not small either. As you said, it looks very nice regardless.
Hi Spencer, did you go in the gardens at strawberry fields the bench donated from Ricky gervais he sits on in afterlife tv show is in there.also two streets from there is the church with Eleanor rigbys grave and facing is the hall where John and Paul first met,if you went to ringos house that and street facing is where they film peeky blinders.Did you go up the liver building ,also if you seen the new Batman movie he dives off the top .did you see the oasis stuff in the cavern and many others musicians who’ve been there.I think this is where you feel most relaxed if lived or had exstended stay next time👍
