That chicken day on Rikers definitely gets real. I wasn’t in no gang, and I definitely wasn’t the toughest dude in there. But I always figured out a way to get an extra bird(chicken). The gang members will definitely intimidate the pantry workers for any leftover chicken. There is always an inmate that u can cut a regular trade deal with. The trick is to barter for somebody else’s bird way before chow time even starts. Another trick is to always show love to the pantry worker. Sometimes I’d throw them a soup for no reason, and they usually remember me on chicken day.
I saw on the news a dude straight up robbed a chicken and waffles and said “put all the chicken in the bag” didn’t take any money just took the chicken smh

Any problems I blame the CO for being weak! Also, Sundays weren't always chicken. Sometimes tuna or bologna or something cold. Let there be ice cream (in the summer) or turkey (on Thanksgiving). You'll REALLY see the games! Don't forget crowd control... 5 at a time on the chow. Halal first lol

How they would pay their debts by starving, and all that bullshit. I used to "count out loud" the trays as they were being distributed. I'm an "old head" for sure, and the piece I'd break off to those who called themselves "hustlers" was to "get a job". I ATE THE WARDEN'S FOOD(as much as I wanted). In 7 months I walked out with $1300- and went from 135lbs to 196lbs. Stay safe brother and don't go back. It's been 16 years for me(5x's)

*When I was on Rikers I never had a problem on chicken day but I'm be honest with you it was the best days for chow.. think it was Thursdays and Sundays*
