there are 2 ways in which throwing the stick could work, the first is if the stick hits the wire and the ground, at 10k it would immediately burn once the circuit completed, the 2cnd is IF the wires are powered separately and if you could get the stick to contact 2 wires at the same time it would also complete a circuit and send it up in flames, the latter is important, if your not completing the circuit then your fine, like how birds can sit on powerlines
