Thank you for this video I was finally able to record however I cant adjust the recording level I just don’t know how to adjust it It won’t let me what do I have to do to be able to adjust it can you help me?
Great video! Do you know if you can record video with an iphone and then replace the audio with the track you create with the focusrite? I guess I'm essentially asking if I need to get a second camera if I plan to upload to youtube?
If you are recording video on your phone, yes, you will need to connect it to your macbook to get the footage off. Or use a cloud storage system to transfer.
Hi Martin, nice video. A question, the drumset, or other tracks you set up in garageband, do you hear them back in your headphones plugged into the scarlet?Am I right? Thanks
Great video. Very helpful How do you keep the guitar on input 2 from bleeding into the vocal track on input 1? I use an acoustic electric. Would it work better if I just used an electric guitar?
How can I change the stereo mode for the bass/guitar track. I'm already switch to mono in the Mac, but the track recording is still showing a flat line on top, i. e., stereo mode. Thanks man
I’m using behringer C3 condenser microphone with Scarlett 2i2 connected to GarageBand in MacBook Air. I’m hearing a hiss sound while turning up the input gain..
Thanks mate, great video. I’ve set up my focusrite solo no worries. Two questions - 1) When I’m on a track, I click on the record button at the top and it records no worries. Why is it necessary to “configure track head” and put that record arm button on the track? 2) I’ve setup the track fine with the option input 1 or 2 or both. If I’ve set up the wrong one can I change that option after or do I delete the track and start again. For example, I set up for input 1 by mistake and want to change it to input 2. There’s nothing recorded so it doesn’t matter about deleting it and starting again, just wonder if there is that option. Cheers
Thanks anyway I’ve answered my own questions. The “arming” would be needed for recording multiple things at once (of course 🤦♂️) - I’ve only been doing single stuff until now. I found the input 1/2 selection.
Hi! Nice video! Thx for sharing this! May I ask a couple of questions please? - is there latency? - I own a peavey mh6505 with xlr output, would you connect it into the focusrite through mic or guitar input?? Thanks for your help!
I haven’t noticed any latency at all in recording.. if you are using midi i have noticed slight latency but there’s a few things you can do to fix it.. mic definitely XLR / mic input
@@RyanMartinWeddings Thanks a lot for your answer! I don't know if it's MIDI i am using, the output in the amp is an MSDI output...otherwise I'll plug the guitar directly in the focusrite as u do. Anyway u said it can be fixed so...it's a go I think..! THX!
Hello, please tell me how to solve the problem. I use GarageBand for real-time broadcasts by a third-party application. It amplifies the usb mic, but the effects are only sent to the microphone's earbuds and do not reach the desired application. How can you transfer effects to both headphones and app?
The only problem I have is I’m not using an instrument and when I pick input 1 when I set up my vocal channel and out it on mono sound I can’t hear myself back in my headphones
My voice is recording all good but I can't hear what I have already recorded when I am doing layers of harmony? There is just a clicking sound, can anyone help?
Thanks for the helpful video. I have a question. I have a Scarlett Solo 3rd and my guitar is heard even when the potentiometer on interface is lowered to the end. Is that normal or should an electric guitar not be heard at all?
Hi! Sounds like you are trying to record vocals while you are playing guitar? If that's the case, your vocal mic may be picking up some of the guitar.. Make sure you record each track separately OR if you need a reference, record both at once on a guide/reference track and then record each separately on additional tracks
How much memory does your Macbook Air has? I'm thinking about buying one of these but I'm not sure about the range of memory it needs to work decently.
Hi this is great but I am going out of my mind :) I have everything as you say. Both guitar and vocals are armed but when I record the guitar is a straight line only the vocals are recording ? Hope someone can help.
Hi Ryan how if I wanna record a vedeo by mobile with music on the scarlett interface Does it work and does it have the same quality of sound in the vedeo recording in the mobile?? Thanks a lot
Ara Vartan you can record your vocals over a backing track if that’s what your are asking? Drag an mp3 in on a different track then, create a new track for vocals.
ryan i recorded my guitar and vocal, now i wanna add some piano chord and guitar chord from the garageband not my instrument, but it didnt let me, why?
Forgot to mention, I seem to have to use the noise gate extensively or I get a lot of buzz from guitars. Doesn't seem to matter what amp model but obviously really buzzy on the crunch and distorted models...any hints on that? Cheers
Are you recording with an instrument channel or mic? If it's the instrument channel, there are loads of settings you can play with on the channel to run it through various amps and pedals
Ryan Martin I’m running in through a channel, I’ve got the instrument switch turned on so that helps make it a little louder and more present but I’m interested in the settings you mentioned,
Possibly making sure both tracks are armed and recording at the same time if you are able to record guitar..? To do this, right click on the track, tick the box that says 'configure track header' and then click 'record enable' on the tracks you want to record on
hey how do you get the gain to light up after turning on your power condenser. i tried doing so but my gain dials doesn’t light up whenever i try to speak, i’ve turned it all the way to the right and still nothing

For some reason, whenever I try to use it in garage band, it just tells me that the selected input isn’t available and automatically uses the build in microphone and speaker with letting me change it. Do you know what the problem is?

January can somebody please answer her lmaooooo I’m having the same issue. Did you ever find out what it was??
January oop I just solved it. Press 48v
You need to turn on phantom power, otherwise the mic wont be getting any power.
If it’s a condenser mic you will need to push the +48 button to power the mic. Dynamic mics do not need phantom power.
