I have some suggestions for the cubbies you can't reach. 1. Take out the baskets so you can use them for standing books or you can transform them into a kitty hiddy hole. 2. Kept the baskets, but use them to stash various gifts for family and friends. The risk being if you're anything like me you may forget that you stashed said gifts there or forget to put them in there because "outta sight, outta mind.". However, it's still an option to make that space useable.
An idea for not forgetting the thankyou-cards in letter mail: Maybe make a stack of envelope with the thank you card and sticker already in so you just have to put in the bags etc.? Just an idea. Happy packing :D

IKEA has little baskets you can mount under your desk for cable management. I got two and they work great especially when I have little kitties that like to chew on the cords 😂 It’s called SIGNUM.

(deep sigh) My freaking bad connection ate my comment (probably, if there is two is because I had 2 dcs). So... what I said before was if you are okay with it you can use some velcro tape and stick it under the table and then reinforce it with some stapes (they lay flatter and won't bulk to be in the way of the other side of the velcro) and use the other side on the switches (I recommend reinforce the tape stickiness with some Scott/3M thicker double sided tape, not the one for paper, another that is more heavy duty). That will make the management easier. AND if you also don't mind, you can try to find some tape that is used under the rug so it won't slip on the floor. It is rubbery/foamy and slightly sticky. I bought a roll (like a tape roll) and use it under rugs/runners, 1 to 2 inches on each corner and some pieces along the borders if it is long. =^.^= Hope it helps.
I do that too, only I use the Velcro command strips. That way I can pull them off if I need to. It has worked great for me. Velcro probably wouldn't be ideal for ones mounted upside down though, mine are all mounted vertically.

Wow Canada mail is weird. I work for USPS and it's always free pickup. The rates aren't as strange either. But I don't know the Canada stuff. I only ship in the US. I
The metal is way too thick and durable for that. 😆 It's also too tall. The packages would rip the bags upon insertion. The holder needs go keep the bottom of the bag on the ground.
I'm not sure if you still need it but if anyone is interested I used foam tape adhesive to attach my power bar and outlet bar thing to the bottom of my desk. I believe I got the outdoor one which holds up to like 65 ibs or something which is more than enough I think. It's really strong and when I needed to remove my power bar I really had to rip it off but it didn't damage my desk or the power bar from what I can see.
"Ew ew ew spiders 🕷...maybe those boxes can stay there...the table will fit there" I am so with you there lady!😵💫 🤣 I realize you mentioned that a postage meter may not be an option for letter mail rather than stamps....however, it does pay for itself in the long run. There are various options so you can get a system that works for your individual needs. Just a thought 😁
Probably asked and answered before, curious why you don’t go the metered mail route for shop openings. I believe you can rent a meter for $20 a month. One sticker vs. however many stamps and the exact amount printed. You already have me admiring your thoughtfulness and ability to streamline. Great progress, grats 😊

I mount my power strips with hot melt glue. It holds great and it doesn't require mounting holes. When you want to move them they just break loose without damage to your table.

As I am working towards opening my own small business I love watching your videos that get in the actual business stuff, but when it gets to all the shipping stuff I internally panic. I feel like it’s one of the biggest hurdles I am facing because of how complicated and expensive Canadian shipping is. There has been sooo many times I have wanted to order something online but then discover that it costs more for shipping than the products, I would hate for my business to not do well just because of the shipping. I’m stressed enough by not having enough money upfront to cover all my costs and struggling to put a good business plan together so I can try for financing (not to mention the fear of not having the ability to pay it back if I fail)

Can you buy printable stamps online? In France we can buy stamps (with the design we want) from the post site and print them ourselves. I just bought some and printed on sticker paper
I am no wiz with he shipping thing, but my fix would have just been to increase the weight of the bundle so that qty 2 would exclude it from letter rate. I know that might impact your other shipping options which is likely why you didn't do that, but it would have been my fix lol. It can get so complicated!!!

What did it show? It's calculated based on weight. The bag bundle for example is less than $10 to ship. I also have flat rate $10 shipping on orders over $75.
From someone who used a metered Canada Post letter mail machine for my job - just don't. It's such a pain in the butt. Loading more money on it sucks and takes forever, it gets an attitude and won't print at least once a week, it'll spit your mail across the room, and changing the ink tape on it is a pain. Like, seems straightforward once you learn how to use it. But the damn thing just has too many issues to make it worth it (or at least the one I used at my job just wasn't worth it).

If I don't explain my entire thought process, I get a ton of comments saying "why didn't you do it this way?" "Have you considered trying this?" "You should have done this." It's exhausting responding to all that all the time. Also, it can be informative for others. People might learn something they didn't know. Running your own business is difficult and requires a lot of planning, googling, etc. I'm sure a lot of people appreciate the extra info, since a lot of my viewers also run their own shops or would like to. That might not be the case for you, but ultimately my target audience is artists and small business owners. If I just did tasks silently, the vlogs would be boring. It's a vlog, not a boring artsy channel that just puts music over everything. 😆 My vlogs have always been chatty and will continue to be. There's only so much I have to talk about in a day, so explaining what I'm doing & my thought process is what my whole channel is about.

For the power bars I would mount the with sticky command strips! I’ve done that before with a long one on each end. Worked well and looked ok lol
