What happened after the TNA VS WWE "Monday Night War!"

- I thought it would be interesting to go back and revisit the series that took my channel to the squad in the first place. TNA vs WWE War from 2010. I always wanted to go back and interview some wrestlers and make more of that series. But for now here is the Raw and TNA from the week after the war ended. I thought it might be interesting to see how both companies reacted if they did at all!
Raw had a main event handicap match Orton vs Edge & mystery partner.
TNA had a triple threat AJ Styles Vs Jeff Hardy Vs RVD
To view Sid in ECW, Raquel Brikked, Brock Lesnar in New Japan and exclusive interviews:

I wouldn’t mind seeing this as a regular series.
I wouldn’t mind seeing the Hawk smack you one.
@@MattWarb you said it
Considering it's the entire thing and only one period Of time I don't find that possible
@@baronvonsvengoonie853 That's exactly why it's possible numb nuts, wrestling didn't end there.
@@MiniMugenMan a "series" suggests a collection of similarly themed ideas. That's not how wrestling works. The end of one era constitutes the beginning of a new and therefore different era so how exactly would a frickin series about something completely different continue to go on? Aswer that dumb fuc and jus keep my nuts outcha mouth aight
I believe fan hatred of John Cena peaked in this era. Previously he was unpopular, but the negative crowd reactions got really intense once all the other big stars left/retired.
Things got so bad CM Punk got over...
... And then later Paige....
@@fhqwgads5000 cm punk was in his bag in wwe
I'll never forget when I watched Summerslam 2007 live at a restaurant, only 3 out of 15 of the older customers did the "John Cena Sucks!!" chant and being shocked since I was used to the cheers on TV. 2011 comes around, more people my age and older were booing Cena. Nowadays people miss Cena 😂
@@seinenwax94jr9 yeah people love him now somehow but I remember when like 80% of the crowd hated his guts. Guess all the man children moved to aew so they can chant fuck cm punk when they cried a year earlier at his return.
Crazy how they were booing Cena in '06 against HHH when just a year earlier those same fans were begging for HHH to lose the belt
The fact that Bischoff and Hogan thought the Nasty Boys and Bubba the Love Sponge could compete against Bret fucking Hart 😭
Still boggles my mind how Bischoff and Hogan messed up TNA so bad
Uh… they didn’t.
Hogan didn’t want to go directly against WWE.
Bischoff has said it’s the stupidest decision in the world. Blame Dixie. Hogan and Eric put in the youth movement and tried to do a genuine reset. But Russo and Dixie are far too stupid for words.
The worst thing Hogan did was cut the legs off of Storm, but in his defense, LITERALLY every single person who ever booked Storm (Cornette, Eric, Russo, Bruce, Hunter, Hogan, Jarrett, and D’Amore, Mantell) have all had the same complaint. He doesn’t work hard out of the ring, and if he’s gonna lose he gets lazy. You can’t book that guy as a Champion of your proMotion. You can certainly argue they shouldn’t have built him as hard as they did just to cut his legs off, and that’s fine.
Cause Bischoff let Hogan do what he wants, and Hogan still think it’s 1997. But then again, wresting now is all Kenny Omega crap, all big spots with no story. Even Sunny Siaki told stories in the ring.
And bishcoff thinks any of his opinions on his podcast pray should be taken seriously? He fucked 2 companies up shut up
@@mrbransformer4184 id take 2010 TNA over AEW every day of the week
@@mrbransformer4184 Keep hating AEW all you want. TNA is a failure and deserves to be in the basement where they are.
I would love to see this series continue.
I will say this... the whole "bad audio and subtitles" thing would actually lead to one of my favourites things from this era of TNA:
The invisible voyueristic camera who also filmed things through blinds or windows. It actually looked cool in my opinion.
Who could forget when the words “BRUTUS MAGNUS” appeared on screen during that one PPV
Honestly, while TNA's Hogan era had it's big-ass flaws and we all know how flawed it was, The Guest Host era was a whole new level of "why?". Sure there were some pretty good ones, (Like Bob Barker), but the majority of it sucked Sonny Siaki's ass! That being said, while WWE at this time had it's flaws, it was the last time I enjoyed watching WWE before the idiocy that was The Authority showed up in 2013. And even then, I still would have watched TNA at the time...somehow.
One thing I missed about this era in retrospect since I had quit watching at that point were the theme songs. Some of them were definitely prototype CFO$ pop music, but they were still getting those Jim Johnston, Downstait, alt rock/metal inspired ones too. TNA during that time never lost that about them at all.
I didn’t realize this was the episode of raw with that Batista bump
I popped when Tomko hit the cab driver slam 😆
Every time I see anything from Raw in 2010 I instantly have flashbacks to SVR2011, probably because for the most part, that game was the only thing WWE related I cared much for in 2010 and most of the loading screens were taken from Raw tapings that year.
SvR 2011 was so smooth and crisp ... yet it has one of the worst rosters ... somehow someway we got RVD in the game
@@heyyoitsmebrian its base roster was weak, mainly because the WWE roster at the time was weak in itself. Luckily community creations was a thing by then and I downloaded a lot of TNA stars and former WWE stars. 2011's match servers are still up, but the creation side of things was taken down years ago.
Me too. I could hear the Broken Dreams playing in the main menu as I saw your comment lol. There is something about 2010-2013 era WWE that when I see footage of it, it has this muted yet intense tint about it.
@@heyyoitsmebrian I remember playing SVR 2011 for the 1st time at a cousin's house on 360. I skipped 09 and 2010 because I was not watching any WWE so I was still on SVR 2006-2008, HCTP, and SYM. I didnt see any old animations and IIRC their chests lit up red when you did chops. Story designer was a game changer. I miss THQ.
@@seinenwax94jr9 i wasnt watching wrestling really at all post 2005 except for WM once a year at a friends house... i bought SvR 2011 because i heard it was great, and this was After wwe '12 had already come out. and the chests turning red is a really awesome detail. i liked the universe mode style a lot too. and the 5 road to WM stories were pretty unique.
and by the way this was a period where wrestlemania was on a horrible roll... WM 25-26-27-28 were all sooooo bad
I can’t believe Bischoff ran WCW into the ground only to turn around and do the same exact thing to TNA. It’s unbelievable how he made some of the same exact moves.
Not making an excuse for Bisch, but WCW had around 3 million viewers when it was taken off the air by Time Warner. TW didn’t want wrestling on its channels. That’s why it was sold to WWE for some of VKM’s pocket change. Read the Guy Evans book, he goes in depth on how TW screwed them over.
@@buhbuhjaychampagne1706 right again moronic wrestling channels on here like Cultaholic, WrestleLamia, Adam Blampeid and Top ten keep spewing how it was Eric's, Hogan's and Russo's fault it failed and the ratings were the worse ever and people who don't research like the original poster keep parrot these lies for now two decades
@@buhbuhjaychampagne1706 nah, probably but Bischoff is not handling WCW to well at that time and WWE/F is killing it and if you compare today's viewership to 90s it's clear that nowadays people don't watch TV anymore including me i also stop watching tv since like 2016 even raw who get 2 to 3 millions viewership is hardly getting million because people don't watch TV or weekly wrestling anymore that's why NXT and AEW number's in not a match to TNA at its prime and remember TNA didn't even come close to raw to call it "war" and also not forget about hogan nash and hall and russo.
OMG that's the episode when Batista oversold the punch from Mark Henry 🤣🤣
"The Great White Sheamus" almost made me spit up my Dr. Pepper, 🤣👍🏾☠️
I'm just here to mention WrestlingBios so Marky has someone to throw a brick at. Love both channels :D
ngl, i like the idea of this tna vs wwe "after the war" series...and i'd like to see this become a series
i think Cena was most disliked between 2010-2013 (Until his US Title Run)
10:44 How could you crop out the most epic Batista's oversell
If I’m not mistaken, WWE removed it (the bump) from Peacock. Still makes me laugh when I see it tho!!!!
@@buhbuhjaychampagne1706 ua-cam.com/video/O7zvyzW394g/v-deo.html
It's rewind time
Turning this into a series would do well.
No way
Still hoping you can get Shannon Moore to say "Yep, I'm Jeff Hardy's stoner friend." We got Jeff Jarrett saying "A Wild Slapnuts Appears", this better happen next.
I do think this should be continued. I would personally like to see if tna actually starts putting on good or entertaining shows now that they’ve moved to Thursday
This “war” felt more like a beatdown in WWE’s favor.
And to make it worse WWE was terrible at this time too, just filled with guest hosts and 2 minute matches lol
With Natural Born Killaz playing on repeat.
LMFAO Not Lacey Von Erich being an undercover detective LOL
Pretty sure for the Bully and Jesse Neal staredown, they were trying to make it a big deal that Bully was Jesse's trainer so he was shocked that he had the audacity to fight him...in a match that they're both in. Just no words except "TNA! TNA! TNA!"
I would like to see more of these videos.
I just love all the "Markyisms" like, punch to the gut, throw a brick, smack you one, all the comical titles/nicknames given to certain wrestlers, and of course "dump in their nappy" 🤣
the part where Tara "dumps in her thong with fear" was great! 😆
Yes please continue this series markyd
To put to short they went from being almost buried alive to basically buried alive multiple times
Would love to see this as a series
This needs to be a series!
Some added context to the Jessi Neil and Bully Ray stare down when he stopped the 3D.
Team 3D were the ones that trained Jessi and Bubba had an issue with Jessi doing this stuff because he felt it was disrespectful. That's why he had that look.
Now I remember why I stopped watching Wwe back in 2010. 😂
10:45 I'm surprised that you didn't show how Botchista sells headbutt from Henry. This was hilarious
Evan borne makes the ladies yawn lolol
Cmoon man, he was pretty spectacular. He had no character, just lots of smiles and throwing up the "peace" sign. Great wrestler, great moves
I want to see OSW and MardyD collab on TNA arcs
Hell Yes! Back to the roots, you Monday Night Wars Videos are what introduced me to your channel,so to see you doing this series but after the Monday Night Wars! Excited to see more so much nostalgia and it's fun to have market recap it all
The reason Jesse Neal and Bubba stared at eachother after he interrupted the 3D was because Jesse was trained by team 3d in storyline he was their "apprentice" then he broke off and became a tag team with Shannon Moore. So Bubba was offended he would interrupt the finisher.
TNA got this episode for sure because yes, there were waaaay more matches, but they didn't end fast, everyone had a chance to shine, and yes Bret Hart coming out during the start of the war trumped them, yet TNA had legends galore despite Sting not showing up on this episode.
it was cool he was there but they mishandled bret SO badly.... they had him win the us title off of the miz even tho Bret couldnt take a single bump
Wish I was watching wrestling bios ngl
Mark Henry as a space Power Ranger would kick ass
Your grind is wild, man! Thanks for all the vids you put out!
That intro isn't the same without Buff saying "gay guys"
I mean, Bret Hart's return was more about setting up a WrestleMania program with Vince than anything TNA was doing. To claim solely TNA was behind it seems to be giving them more credit than they deserve.
I would absolutely love to see a this series continue
I've always thought the Code Breaker was bad ass.
Team Wrestling Bios #chinlocks4life
Would be more than happy to see this continue, there's plenty of room for this and Wrestling Bios.🤷♂️
😄👍
100 percent. Wreslting Bios barely does TNA so this is def Marky's avenue.
I dunno tbh I think WB is aware of that.
I'd say continue as "Batista quitting WWE for the first time" is an upcoming promo. That I remember more than most of the 2010-era WWE stuff.
yes, his I Quit match vs cena is his last match ever as a full timer
I'm watching through TNA I'm almost done with 2007 and seeing what happens to tomko in just s few years is crazy.
I thought the vid was very funny and a good watch. Would rlly like seeing this as a series again since TNA doesnt seem bad in this time. But my man please cut the music next time, didnt fit that well. 💪🏽
I would love to see more of this after war analysis
As great as retro reviews are great but you know what the main competition we're up to it's always more interesting
HEYYYYY I LOVE WRESTLING BIOS AND YOUUU!!! Love both ya'll content lmaooo. Entertaining!!!
Crazy, even at goin one on one with Raw TNA still drew more than wat AEW draws now, and really Raw too just a year ago. And at TNA's lowest they drew more than Rampage
Nobody watches cable anymore. Are you that stupid? Put TNA in this age of social media, TNA would have the same numbers as AEW. Just stop.
@Austin Aries Must explain why TNA in the basement and AEW is on a major platform, huh? 😂 AEW getting more viewers. TNA having more viewers back then don't mean anything. Different time period and social media wasn't as big as it now for people to have different ways of watching shows. Just stop.
@@austinaries9387you upset the fanboy
Comparing ratings from 2010 with ratings from 2022 is absolutely stupid, there are far less people watching tv now so the overall viewers number doesn't mean anything
TNA never drew as much as AEW does and it's not even close, for example the highest number TNA ever did for a PPV (genesis 2006 with 60k buys) is less than half of what AEW did for their lowest PPV this year 😂😂
@@austinaries9387 Your comment scream "I am a hater" it's hilarious, you obviously never watched the show
Nice reference with Of Mice And Men there, it actually fits
I love this series idea. I hope it continues
This series was always gold mate, keep it up! Otherwise Jeff Hardys Stoner Friend will be out of a job again
seeing Scott Hall shambling around in his pajamas on TNA is a little saddening
What’s insane is I just watched that whole video yesterday for the first time, I didn’t even know it or your channel existed 24 hours ago, and now I’m seeing this on my feed after you made that video over a year ago. Crazy timing lol
That is a bit mad!
I didn't even know you revisited this tna vs wwe thing after the "war" was over!
I watched your early channel vids and you Monday night wars series and top 10 series were so fun to watch. It's nice to see your channel has blown up even more keep up the good work!
Please continue this series. Huge fan
Id like you to keep doing it . I think its a pretty interesting thing to do . Ill watch . It IS an odd time in wrestling . Neither Show was on fire ! But its still cool to go back and watch it re capped with todays eyes . As both companies were going downhill rapidly in my view at this point . But I tuned out a bit in this era . Lets see Markey if we can find some gold underneath all this mold ! Or if if theres no wheat amongst the chaff , at least we can laugh !
11:55
I almost got a bit of whiplash from seeing the NXT S1 Rookies here. This is about a month or so before the Nexus stable became a thing.
100% make it a series
Can we do a video on worst finishers? Because I’m tired of seeing Jeff Jarrett kill everyone with his weak ass finisher.
Great video as always Markyd! I'd love to see more as this vid made me laugh
TNA from 2009 - 2011 was still fairly tolerable to me, way better than the "guest host" GM era.
Keep the series going no one really talks about either of these.
The Hawk coming in with a new VS series like a bat out of hell. Yeah, TNA was better here, it's surprising how WWE with a roster full of stars couldn't book at least an interesting TV episode. It feels like they were just going through the motions to get to the PPV
Huh....we never really got a proper aftermath after said ""War"" from you until now. Better late than ever! 👍
You should definitely do a Wednesday night work (AEW VS NXT). It could be interesting considering you probably never watch either show
Did not expect to hear “Mark Henry is on the moon” during this video lmao
Whatever gets you the best amount of views is good with me, fella. Keep on keeping on.
15:32 "Have you not read Of Mice and Men?"
I'm sorry, I had to. One of my favorite OSW moments, and was while they were also talking about TNA.
It should continue, speaking of I'm awaiting the return of the adventures of Beauties and the Beast in your Fantasy Booking.
Hey Marky, if you were to continue this series how far are you going to go in terms of the shows? And yes I would like it if you continued this series.
The brand loyalty to WWE is staggering. There will be people who continue to watch no matter how terrible it is because they have always watched
"The Great White Sheamus interrupts"! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I stopped watching wrestling almost 15 years ago. But I love this channel. Hit that like button before I smack you with a brick!
Jericho's "Gone-off bowl of custard" look. So, he looks a bit like Poundland custard then?
I remember the rare time Rob Terry talked. He couldn't be any welsher if he tried
please more of these!
That was ALL Flavor Flav knew how to do. LoL Yeah, Boi!!!
Dayum about 2? years later the Conclusion is uploaded.
this is no hate! i love that there is even any :D
whats the matter with wrestling bios? you and him are my most loved wrestling YT channels :(
Because people say I’m copying reliving the war
This is a freak wrestling bio- -I mean markyd upload.
Seriously though, i'll follow this series.
🍻
Yes please. I would love to see more episodes of this.
Keep this as a regular series
You have to be the first person I've ever come across who didn't laugh at William Regal's rap on Flavor Flav
I think I was just annoyed about how bad the show had been and I found it hard to enjoy it. Was the highlight of the show admittedly
Can you sign the brick before you throw it through my window? WrestlingBios signed the brick he threw.
This would be a great series 👍
This intro is absolutely right. By god it’s the shove it man.
Maybe an idea for a series is taking an episode of Raw and Impact of a random week of every year and try to compare them which gets better over time and which show gets worse or stays the same quality.
“Flavour Flave; you make Chris Benoit look like a “good” father.” That was from maybe The Roast of Charlie Sheen? Steve-O? Or himself: Flavour Flave. It MAY have been Jimmy Kimmel that said that? Maybe.
Its hilarious everytime he clears his throat to say "war" lol
MarkyD and Jeff Jarrett vs. Wrestling Bios and Glacier. Book it Papa H
Was there even a "war"...all I remember was TNA trying to entice the WWE to acknowledge their company, but no one really gave a shit. It's like TNA wanted the war to boost their ratings but it backfired on them even more so
I mean I know you said no mention but....
Majority of us aren't exactly "reliving this war" if you know what I mean 🤣
I do like wrestling bios. But I like ur show too.. and if u had series like wrestling bios I’d watch more.. but I like to listen to. It while I’m at work.. makes the time to by faster.
I would definitely like to see this series continue. As for who had the better episode I would say TNA if for nothing more than them actually trying to do something interesting with their segments instead of the same old safe cookie cutter entertainment with WWE.
To this day I still laugh that WWE just managed to kill this on night one by simply finally getting Bret Hart back on screen. After that TNA pretty much had no hope. If Bischoff and Hogan hadn't tried to go too big too fast maybe it would have been better. If I'm correct going on the road more weekly is what actually caused them the most problems because they were running all the shows at a loss.
Id like to see this series continue. 2010's Guest GM Raw and Hogan TNA must be the worst of American Mainstream Wrestling in my lifetime. It was so awful, it made me look elsewhere and discover New Japan and older Japanese Wrestling. One good thing came out of it at least.
8:21 sober scott hall lol
Scott Hall never done a damn thing wrong ever in his whole entire life just ask his life partner Kevin Nash
Continue yes, it’s fun to see how they are were in 2010
If this continues which I'd love btw, we should keep track of who has the better show for the week.
