How to Shave a English Angora

- In this video, we show how we use an electric shaver to groom our English Angora bunny. We shave our long haired rabbits roughly every quarter of the year, and it takes us about 30-45 minutes to fully shave each of our bunnies! Our bunnies enjoy getting a haircut when their wool becomes too hot or thick, especially since some of ours are indoor rabbits.

I have an angora/lop mix and I tried the brushing every couple of days cause she'd mat up if I didn't. She didn't seem to mind, but it was soo time consuming. Then one day I used clippers and shaved her down and wow... she was so happy and doing binkies that night. Seems like she'd rather have less hair so now I just use clippers on her once every couple of weeks. She was a super FLUFF ball though :)
We agree! Our angoras always seem so much happier after we shave them.

Hi i am learning to shave my rabbit who has matt fur. Are you using the grimars standard (cheapest) version or the ceramic version? Thank you.
I just checked our Amazon order and the specific one we have isn’t currently available, but it is the ceramic one I believe.
What is her color considered? I just rescued one today in pretty bad shape. Trying to figure out the color.

I try not to, but it does happen occasionally
Is there a danger to shaving when the bunny has matting? I mean you would try to cut them out first but if it gets stuck in matting you missed or something?? It's a bit scary when you don't want to hurt your bun but fur has gotten a bit out of control. SOOOOO hard to find bunny groomers.
Typically when our angoras had matting in their fur, we would work on the individual mats with scissors or pull them apart by hand; and then use the electric shaver to do the rest of the haircut. Sometimes we use the shaver to cut out mats if we can clearly see the skin and the mat is far enough away from the rabbits skin to do it safely.
