I hope everyone is doing good. I am sharing my 3 makes for the #sewfrugal24 challenge. I made 3 free patterns.
I will link the channels and patterns I used below. I was given some Africa’s for my birthday on April1. I will share those with you. I will mention why I like to batch cut sometimes.

I agree, you did pick the right size. Everything fits so well! There are many videos on how to increase the waist and hip areas on your patterns. Also your dress is Beautiful!

My mom was due for me on April 1st, so when they offered to induce her on March 28, she jumped at the chance, lol so we are almost birthday twins!! I love all of your birthday fabrics!!! and what a good idea with that clearance Walmart fabric I never thought of using it for pants. I have to go see if it’s on sale.😮 Your Malva tee looks Fabulous and that shirt dress- so pretty!!

I was so pleased with mine but I noticed your sleeves were longer than mine turned out before I lengthened them. Maybe I did something wrong 😂 Your dress is just stunning, very pretty on you. Belated Happy Birthday, Diann! We are almost birthday twins - mine was March 28th. No one gave me fabric, though - they know I have too much already! Too bad about Walmart - I bought that mesh for $1 a yard there and used it to line tops made out of sweater knit so they won't cling - learned that from an article in Threads magazine a few years ago - that same mesh is so much more at Joann. Your makes are very, very nice, and I bet your picture from church will be great - Alleluia, He is risen!!!
I love the Summer Caye pants! I’ve cut mine to be culotte’s length, and they are so comfortable to wear in the summer. I read several reviews and the rise is short, sort of like a high hip hugger height. I am sure they were designed to be that way, but I feel uncomfortable in gathered pants that don’t sit at my waist, so I added 1” to the top of both the back and front pieces. They were made for a lightweight fabric, I suspect mainly because of the gathering in the back. I used both a chambray and a silk dupioni from the thrift store. (I didn’t realize it was silk until after I made them. When I washed it I thought it was mostly rayon.) If you want secret pajamas, you can’t beat these in silk. They are so comfortable to wear, and the petal hem makes them stylish. Both pair I made were a real win for me. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

It’s me again. lol I hadn’t finished watching your vid. Then I saw your new fabrics you got for your b day. But I was sort of laughing when you said I need tops but I always want to make a dress but I need tops! That’s just how I am! Me too, only I always want to make tops and don’t need those! lol.

Not only am I also called Diane but I also treated myself to some fabrics in my recent fabric haul video for my birthday so thought that was quite funny 😅. Looking forward to future videos x

Thanks for the answer on batch sewing (was curious how that works for sewists). Sorry to hear Walmart craft section is being reorganized, especially since so many JoAnn’s are closing. Happy birthday sweet Diann, Sorry I’m late but hope your day was great. My 29 th birthday was march 29 th. lol. Add a little over 40 for me too. Yes, getting older. I also had full knee or total knee replacement surgery on April 2. Boy, it’s rough too I had my right knee replaced in 2018. I guess it’s good a person can’t remember how rough the recovery is. Very hard to get it moving. And older. So still but it’s coming along just have to push hard on the therapy. Gotta move it a lot or it really stiffens up. So glad we only have anymore. Plus, 3 yrs ago I had a huge back or spinal surgery. A wk after that I got a blood clot so I’m on a blood clot med for several wks. So. Dang it no sewing for me. Hopefully, this wk I can do some hand sewing as my Fla daughter is here helping me for several wks. You take care and hope you are well and your eyes are staying steady. Hi Diann, Happy Belated Birthday. I love the tops you've made especially the grey one. The dress looks really
good on you and I hope it doesn't offend if I say it looks like you have bought it. I have just finished a dress
which took me ages because the pattern made it so complicated (well that's my excuse) I felt if I had given
up on it I would have failed. Unfortunately when you spend so much time on making it you lose interest.
I'm sure you would have finished it in no time.
You have some lovely fabrics and can't wait to see what you make with them.

Your tops look so good on you and I love the shirt dress. Downsizing the patterns really make a big difference. I need to do the same thing but worried that the upper back area will be too tight. Probably should do a muslin and try it. Glad you had a nice birthday and you got some beautiful fabrics! Still praying for your eyes.

On the red shirt where the neck seams show, put a button on each one and it becomes a purposeful design element.😁😁

😂😂I think we are the same age! Your shirts look great in the pictures, but I struggle with the same thing getting it to fit thru the top and not be to snug / to baggy every where else..
Ps. Hope the previous message made some sense. I’ve been ditzy on the extra pain pill I have to use and I am using it more than before but I see a true pain dr and he is the dr who prescribes my meds but since he’s a specialist he has also written my pain meds while healing. Trust me when I say I’m ditzy,,, I’ve said some off the wall things for sure. But no cursing but just crazy things in my head I guess! lol. lol lol lol.
