This Dakota was built in March 1940 as a civil aircraft. The full type designation is Douglas DC-3-277B. the construction number of this aircraft is 2204. In 1940 it started flying with American Airliens as NC25658 (Flagshap Cleveland). In World War II, the aircraft flew for the US Army, but it did not receive a military registration.
Later, TTA Trans Texas Airways and Texas International Airlines flew it. When it joined PBA (Provincetown Boston Airlines) it was registered N34PB in 1972. In 1992, aircraft N922CA was registered by Champlain Enterprises Plattsburgh NY and Dakota Air Services Llc Miami FL. Finally, it left for Switzerland in 2009 as HB-IRJ.
In Switzerland it was in the name of Aero Passion SA with the user the Super Constellation Flyers Association. This club also managed the Swiss Lockheed Consellation HB-RSC. Since Breitling has minimized its sponsorship in aviation, flying had become almost impossible for this association. As a result, the Dakota was sold to the M.S.Ö Air & Space Museum in 2019 and moved to the Sivrihisar Uluslararası Sportif Havacılık Merkezi or Sivrihisar International Sports Aviation Center in Turkey. This field is located southwest of Ankara.
On March 14, 2019 it flew to its new Turkish home base. The "Breitling" titles have since been replaced by "Aero Passion". During the delivery, the Dakota still flew with its Swiss signature HB-IRJ. His New Name Is Turkish Delight. It has already participated in an air show in Turkey
