    You’re passion for adventure is unsurpassed, Mathilde and Nick. I couldn’t have done that sail boat crossing but appreciate having been taken along with you. I’m almost sea sick having observed the process. Photography is phenomenal, as usual! Glad you had a safe transit.

    Great episode!
    Loved the underwater shots with all the fish - and sharks! 😮
    Nice way to travel around the Darien - a change from flying.
    Slower pace, even if it involves having to take anti seasickness pills (that would be me, I get sea sick very quickly!!).

    The Caribbean takes in a large area and includes a lot of countries and Tropical Islands. The weather is warm year-round and the water is always warm and beautiful. I spent many decades swimming and snorkeling and traveling the various Islands from South Florida, the various Caribbean islands to Caribbean Mexico and no matter where I was it was always stunning with the most beautiful beaches. I bet you did not know that Florida has over 5,000 Tropical Islands off the coast and most everyone of them is uninhabited with palm trees and turquoise Waters and White Sands. The Caribbean is one of my favorite places on Earth. 🌴🌴🌞🌴🌴🌞🌴🌴

      @@NextMeridianExpedition Yes you must go to Florida and Louisiana, New Orleans has fantastic food, French Creole cooking. Florida has great beaches and some of them are secluded. There are also a lot of beautiful Crystal Springs with manatees. There are many secluded areas in the keys where you can camp. South Carolina is also really nice and so is Georgia. The Appalachian Mountains are Lush Green Mountains they go all the way from Canada all the way to Georgia. Someday you will do it

    Wonderful way to travel, tho not so sure I would have jumped in so enthusiastically with the sharks, but I think you arrived with the same number of people on board so I guess they were ok. Very surprised that you arrived before Albo who set off before you. Was he visiting all the islands too? Interesting that you were almost all Europeans on the boat.

      @@NextMeridianExpedition I have a big memory from the boat. Every night they would buff the hallway. It was very slick. Our cabin was across the hall from bathroom. I would slip and slide to bathroom. This was not a cruise ship in 1960. People crossed Pacific by boat as PanAm was just starting. We did fly back to Tokyo a year later. So glad when we got to Seattle. It took about a week. Ugh! I'm surprised the captain made y'all take sea sick pills. Wow! No cleanup svc. So glad y'all had safe trip. I can't imagine ur parents worrying. I worry and pray for y'all and we've never met. I'm adopted so y'all r adopted. I live in Choo Choo City. Do u know the city? Try to guess before GOOGLE it. Lol

    It is your second continent, America is just one continent, if you ask everyone from Spanish speaking countries, they will say that America is just one continent, dividing it into 2 continents is a gringo thing and of some English speaking countries. Don’t be rude to the American continent peoples.

    • @NextMeridianExpedition
      @NextMeridianExpedition  Рік тому +5

      Hello, thank you for sharing your point of view. Mathilde learnt five, Nick learnt seven continents. We did some research and it seems to really be dependent of countries where you are from and how a continent is defined. What is a continent is a big question and you reach different numbers if you change your definition. We also raised it with other friends from South America who did not seem shocked by any of those. We understand there might different interpretations. It is not meant to insult anyone and it seems no one else so far has felt insulted either by choosing to refer to 7 continents. We thank you for following the journey and we hope you understand our point of view.
