It's official! The Socratica Python Kickstarter was a success! Thank you to all of our supporters. Because of you, many more Python videos coming soon!! 💜🦉
This is one of the most underrated channels in IT community. The material quality is decent and concepts are easy to grasp because of entertaining style. Thank you for your work
Thank you so much for your kind words!! It inspires us to keep making videos. It *has* been hard for people to find our channel, for some reason. UA-cam is so unpredictable in its recommendations. It is a HUGE help if you share our videos on social media or by email with your friends/ teachers/ fellow students/ coworkers. THANK you, Socratica Friend! 💜🦉
Wow, THIS is how courses should be done. Not just plain information, but contextualized with relateable scenarios and jokes, and adequate soundrack + sound fx. I'm in love with this series!
I have never been more entertained and curious while learning database systems; I developed a strong dislike for the subject because of a teacher with very questionable teaching skills but you guys made me thoroughly enjoy the subject. Thank you so much!
im studying software engineering in college, and our SQL teacher is less than qualified, he barely explains the material and only gives attention to the more "understanding" students, i gave up on him a few weeks ago cause he made the whole SQL subject seem impossible to grasp, until i watched this series, thank you so much!!
How crazy is it that I learned more SQL from this UA-cam playlist than from the "Professor" and College level course I am taking? Thank you Socratica and Cyber-Ulka !

I avoided databases for decades becoz it was boring & irrelevant at the time. Then THIS !! Made sense easily, FAST (!!!) & so much more fun. Can't Thank you enough @socratica
I think I am in love. Simple, funny, highly entertaining, super creative and delivered by a beautiful young lady with super snazzy graphics. You got a new sub
This woman is amazing. Love the way she explains stuff , she makes everything so intriguing xD Thank you Socratica, now i have a better view over... Views :P
I was watching another video and fell asleep, when I was half awake, I saw your video and click, WOW, I am wide awake, no more sleepy time to study SQL :)))

Dear god as a cs student watching all my lectures I cannot explain how refreshing it is to hear something with a little a little presentation. They just kinda told me to do these complex queries without teaching me so this is really helpful too. I love the whole space aesthetic too w the green screens and deep bass lines my brains always been drawn to it. Reminds me of planetside 2 a bit. Thank you for this vid I’m glad I came across it. I’m off to try to find that green matrix like background image to make my pc wallpaper
more women should teach computer science stuff. the way you presented your teaching was full of dedication, what i admire. you went the extra mile for using an entertaining and visual example. most computer scientists don't. they explain things very boring and incomprehensible (although on youtube there are really good ones).
Examples from the video: www.db-fiddle.com/f/tDULuaaBegoN3kSw5fgbb3/8 Thanks for the tutorial! The production value of these videos are great. SQL tutorials have never been so entertaining.
Wow, you're a godsend! I'm not sure why socratica didn't do something like you did, but ok. Makes me think most of people just look at the lessons. The key is to do them in my opinion.
Thank you so much for your content! I wanted to understand unions and views better and I knew that your account would provide a simple explanation that made the concepts easy to understand. It reminded me to finally subscribe too, because I forget frequently. You're the GOAT
Thanks for this brilliant guide on SQL. I have been following tutorials on SQL on youtube since last ten years...and nothing helped. And your tutorial helped me in greater depth
ONE OF THE BEST SIMPLE & SOBER TUTORIALS OF SQL !!! YOU REALLY DESERVE A MILLION OF SUBSCRIBERS. THUMBS UP FOR YOU. PLEASE MAKE MORE TUTORIALS ON SQL ( STORED PROCEDURE,TRIGGERS,FUNCTIONS,CTE) IT WILL BE REALLY HELPFULL
I first came across Ulka in the Python tutorials where she looks 'serious' with the jokes. Gotta say it was surprising but nice to see her weird side on the SQL videos. Lovely voice difference too. Enjoyed it!
@Socratica, thanks again for simplifying the SQL concepts. A very good example of cross join. Please consider adding a bit more of your quirkiness that we all fell in love with through your Python series. It was so addicting...
I just watched your video on Indexing and then saw this. A very entertaining and informative video! One small point though with naming, I'd normally name a View with the prefix 'vw_'. Anyway, off to watch more of your content, Thanks
here's a suggestion for you. Cover when union queries are better option than multiple or subqueries. I've seen programmer mis-use both and cleaned up lots of really bad SQL. More advanced join topic, self-join queries and why they can blow up the database server consuming 100% of the CPU.

Do you can tell us the name of the program, SQL client that you use in this series? Thank you!

The combination of being funny, intelligent and being creepy at the same time.
I just love it. ❤️

How crazy is it that I learned more SQL from this UA-cam playlist than from the "Professor" and College level course I am taking?
