The intro was a banger
Did Jeremy seriously sin the use of “I’ve got a bad feeling about this” despite the fact that it’s like an unspoken rule that a character has to say it at least once in every film in the saga?
He might as well sin a Star Wars movie for have the words star wars in the title.

A_FINE_EDITION it’s fine to have that line in the movie somewhere, but it was clearly lazily thrown in just for the sake of nostalgia. Characters say it when about to do something risky, not when they’ve already been caught lol

There’s a lot of things wrong with Star Wars rise of Skywalker but the way Cinema sins does it makes it seem like there’s nothing wrong at all and that he’s criticizing something just to complain
@KaMau Mau Theres a right way to do it and a wrong way to do it. Sadly many internet "critics" choose the wrong way.
Basically like many other Star Wars fans
They’ll criticize anything from the Disney era Just to find more reasons to hate what they already dislike. (You can give criticism, but don’t just make up shit to hate the movie more)
I came here to say the same thing. I don't understand how they borked this so badly when it should have been easy. I feel like the sin removal was a troll, but the rest of the video was the usual nitpicking ignoring most of its actual flaws. Jay did a good breakdown awhile back, if you have an hour and half. Which at this point, most of us do.
You have just summarized most of the criticism of the last six star wars movies.

"Rey has never really seemed like the angry type"
In The Force Awakens her first instinct upon learning that Finn has a 'stolen' jacket is to attack him. She angrily stomps away from Maz Kanata when told about her role in the events to come. In The Last Jedi she's angry at Kylo Ren for having killed Han Solo. She immediately goes towards the Dark Side when searching for answers. She hears Kylo's side of the Rashomon story and attacks Luke over it, demanding he come back. In The Rise of Skywalker, other than the tug of war mentioned, she gets frustrated during her training and drops a tree on BB-8. If there's been any consistent throughline in the sequels its that Rey flirts with the Dark Side but doesn't succumb. Jesus, Jeremy, you don't have to like the movies but damn pay attention at least.
But then they can't make their angry internet video.
Sir, this is a Wendy's
You missed the part where she taps into the dark side while fighting Ren in The Force Awakens. She literally used her anger to defeat him.
I literally said "Sssssskip!" During Jeremy's utterly nonsensical rant about directors before Th3BirdMan said what I was feeling
I completely got the reference, and still thought it was stupid. For a moment, I thought he was going to skip his own rant. Then I heard Birdman's voice saying it in my head, and he did not disappoint.
Jesus Christ Cinema sins, the line “I have a bad feeling about this.” Has been in every movie in the series. It would be weirder if it wasn’t in this movie.
Yeah, its a classic line by this point, and is he really complaining about it.
Heiryuu he sins it in every sins video of Star Wars
He would sin it if it wasn't there too.

I’ve noticed that CS’s videos almost NEVER disagree with the general public’s opinion of the movie, and they won’t bring up any points that go against what people think of the movie
Not entirely. I have seen people dislike Rey taking the Skywalker name (despite how obvious that was going to happen) and Jeremy took a sin off for that which despite personally being indifferent to Rey Skywalker, think isn't worth a sin removal.
But yeah, aside from that most of CS's 'sins' (when they're not pop culture references, cringy sex jokes, sinning questions he has and the like) are merely common nitpicks and complaints people have. And also editing footage to make something look like a sin even though it isn't.

@@AkatsukiBoss13 I think he was trolling. He knows how much people hated that. And * shudder * the kiss.
It's mostly because he's at a point where he has to say whatever is popular in order to continue doing these videos. Had he actually sinned it, as well as other things with that movie those people would've jumped ship potentially. And while you can definitely argue those people are the minority, this same situation can apply to loads of bad movies he covers. @Dark Starvoid Well Force healing is a light side ability. That is kinda the irony of Anakins arc. In his attempts to save Padme he actually caused her death.
@Dark Starvoid You explained it without realizing, he looked in the wrong places for this exact power under false promises and his unwillingness to sacrifice himself.
OK I would just like to say, the fact that they showed the child force healing just before this movie came out was a great way to set this "new" force ability up for Rey to use.
just becasue they are self aware about it doesmnt make it good
Actually, Force Healing is a thing. It wasn't 'just made up' for this movie.
Too bad that the Mandalorian came out afterwards for anyone NOT in the Netherlands, USA (and Puerto Rico), Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Disney Plus staggered a bunch of their releases all the way to March for most of Western Europe besides the Netherlands. It released in India in April. It still hasn't released in Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Central or South America, the whole of Africa or anywhere in Asia besides India.
Basically, what I'm saying is that you couldn't legally watch the Mandalorian basically anywhere besides like five countries (and a territory of one of the above) where the majority speak English, so even if you did pirate it, it wouldn't be in your language unless you were from the UK, Ireland or the Dutch-speaking half of Belgium (I don't know what languages the show was originally offered in the five release countries, but I bet the majority of rips were uploaded in English or Dutch). My assumption is that many Star Wars fans had no idea at all.

Well played
Thank you, finally, a youtuber that fucking understands how to force healing works, I swear, movie critics don't watch the movies they are criticizing. I keep hearing the argument that force healing is taking away any stakes since now you can just heal from anything. They seem to gloss over the part where Rey says that you give away YOUR OWN vitality to heal. Like you said in the video Rey can't heal Ben back after being resurrected since she would just give back the vitality that Ben gave her, resulting in her dying again. And before anyone says anything, the reason Rey didn't die when she healed Ben the first time was because he wasn't dead yet, he was dying, but he still had vitality left in him, so she didn't have to spend all of her vitality to heal him back to life, while he had to spend his whole vitality to resurrect Rey from death.
So glad this channel exists.....

Yeah, how is that a sin of the film? Can't watch cinema sins anymore without birdman calling out their bullshit. I liked rise of Skywalker, not as a critic but as a guy who loves star wars and wants more.
Also how does no one call bullshit on baby yoda force healing and not Rey? It was a technique used by sith in combat and you could easily see it as playing with life. So the Jedi frowned on its use. Rey doesn't have that oversight.

I don't think her being Palpatine's granddaughter absolves her of being a mary sue. Luke was the son of the chosen one, and he still had to train and practice. He failed as many times as he succeeded . And he still needed help to win. Rey had very little training, mastered abilities she was never taught, and she failed maybe once, and then she was proven right. Sorry. It's just how I see her. I'd actually like it someone can point out something that might change my mind.
Well she was trained by herself in basic combat for years on jakku. Like she said to Han "I can handle myself"
Then on Ahch To she got trained by Luke for a bit, like Luke got trained by Yoda in ESB. Luke lost to Vader and Rey got completely annihilated by Snoke until Kylo killed him. And she fell for Kylos obvious trap. Then she trained for a year with Leia on Ajan Kloss. Like Luke did probably somewhere between ESB and RotJ.
Rey was more skilled due to surviving on Jakku for like 14 years on her own while Luke spent 19 years on a farm with his uncle and aunt.
Well Anakin is weaker than Palpatine. He's the mac daddy of the Sith.
She's definitely a mary sue, no need to consider changing your mind
@@maxieprimo2758 He's only weaker because he turned evil and lost on Mustafar. He was created by the force to destroy the sith, so he had a lot of potential.
@@hisdudeness1835 Luke didn't teach her much. Mostly the nature of the force. But she was using actual techniques before that. But that is a good point about her already knowing how to fight, though I would like to point out a staff is very different from a lightsaber.

It could have been handled WAY better. As is, it's just more unearned fan service from a movie full of it. People were literally groaning in my theater for something that should have been amazing.
I appreciate that StarWars said that your family doesn't matter what your bloodline is, and the fact that so many people misinterpret it just to get mad at the movie is honestly annoying.
that was the best video on TROS I have seen yet. Awesome effort bro
9:55 He should have said "What about the Jumptroopers from the clone wars?
Well also there's a comic that takes place between TLJ and TROS where Poe actually fights stormtroopers with jetpacks. He already knew about them, so there's no reason he would be surprised in the movie. It's actually a genuine flaw, but CS just didn't point that out
The point of the sin, is that Jeremy tried to compare Boba Fett, to a common stormtrooper because they both fly, yeah I can see why didn’t focus on how Clone Troopers also did it
Little Chickey Hudak Not only that, but the way it is phrased is just wrong, since Troopers have ALWAYS flown (Ties) and there would be stories of the Clone Wars or the Rebellion era of people fighting with jetpacks, not to mention the Mandalorian warriors that fought for: Darth Maul, The Empire, etc.
Little Chickey Hudak because cinemacins probably doesn’t know shit about Star Wars comics
Rex & co use jetpacks in season8 episode1, Jeremy could use this and still stick to his 'ThE bOoKS DOn'T mATteR'

@@Marvelfanatic3658 because he's not "baby yoda" and I'm sick of people calling him that.
Yoda died in the second installment of the original trilogy. The Child appears AFTER the third installment.
If you call him Baby Yoda, you've got no idea how the timeline works.
One thing that really pissed me off about the SW fanbase recently: people basically rioted over force heal in this movie, and yet were completely fine with it in the Mandalorian. I haven't heard one single complaint about it in that show. And I've looked. I really think people just *want* to hate this movie, even if its for completely stupid reasons. Also, people complain about how Rey has "no training" when she's clearly been training extensively with Leia. Then they try to defend their complaining by saying that Leia should have no idea how to train her. Despite the movie CLEARLY SHOWING US THAT LEIA WAS TRAINED AS A JEDI
Everything you just said.... was absolutely right, this movie is not amazing by any means. But it does not deserve all this hate
Leia did not have training, not in TLJ, the whole Force fly pull with Leia was said by Rian Johnson to be her natural instinct to survive and that she had no force training until this movie came along and retconed that.
@@isplat927 Yes. Because JJ Abrams agrees with the majority of the Star Wars fanbase on the grounds that "Rian Johnson's brain is made of botched Palpatine clone flesh".
I agree with the first part but the second, not so much.
Leia never became a Jedi. Yes she did training, but she decided it wasn't for her and abandoned the idea of becoming a Jedi. Hence she's not a Jedi and doesn't use her lightsaber.

The Fortress of Hothitude joke was actually noting a sin of the film, because its pointing out how derivative it is.
The point was that it was the dumbest joke for that
That was fast
Antonio Orozco I’m speed
Had the same thought
Mike Val That’s cause Birdman actually cares about his audience
Mike Val
Hi speed, I’m ecstasy
He probably has some time on his hands. And this video was easy to counter, it didn't have a lot of substance. The movie was so easy to sin, I'm actually kinda disappointed in CS for being so lazy with it.
Don't kill me if you think this is wrong, but...
Opinion warning:
I liked rise of skywalker
No opinion is wrong or right. I loved the movie too, so you're not alone
CinemaSins: Releases a video
TheBirdman: NOTHING WILL STOP THE RETURN OF THEBIRDMAN!
Also love the little Easter eggs with subtitles that say what you didn’t say. This series is great man
Me in the theatre: Don't say it. Don't fucking say it "Rey Skywalker" GOD Damn it!
CinemaSins: The ending was fucking great.
I'm sorry, what?
I used to find cinemasins funny a while back, but it seems like overtime they're paying less and less attention to the films and end up criticizing things that make sense within the context of the entire movie. Now they're just kind of annoying and whiny :|
I just had the impression Luke and Lando went searching for the way finder BEFORE Kylo Ren turned to the dark side. Perhaps not too long after Return of the Jedi.
Which makes Luke into a freaking monster who KNEW the Sith were still out there hiding on a lost planet, building their strength, and not only did he do nothing about it, he didn't even think to warn anyone.
And they say TLJ made him look bad...
@@DRACONAR1US no, he just knew there was a sith wayfinder and an ancient planet called Exegol. He had No clue what would await him there. That is likely why he searched for it
His Dudeness why didn’t they search Oochis ship?
@@RAINBOWNIGTHMAREPRODUCTIONS They did search it. They didnt find the wayfinder there. Rey, Poe, Finn and Chewie just went back to look for it again. This is literally what they said in the movie.
I think it's time for you to just replace CinemaSins outright. I think you do a better job
How dare he, c-3po is like the one thing that everyone agrees was good in the film
I’ve been looking forward to this for a while. Thx Th3BirdMan
Th3Birdman right tho, dumpster memes are garbage!
But like the ending was great! The yellow lightsaber showing that Ray is Pure lightside!
I actually love the yellow lightsaber bit. I actually predicted that Rey would craft a yellow saber. Granted, I predicted this to happen in The Last Jedi, but I'm still counting this as my prediction lol
Cinemasins: *Makes a new video*
Th3 Birdman: long have I waitted
The first time I watched cinema sins Ros I wanted you to make this video so fast.
17:42 that’s an insult to 1st graders if I’m being honest
