Today brings a fresh load of Intel ARC Battlemage leaks, as there's been some HUGE hardware specs leaked for Intel Battlemage, as well as an apparent CONFIRMATION of the Battlemage G31 SKU. Plus, we also have a small update on RTX 50 (or more specifically, RTX 5090) and the reasons why the leaks and rumours surrounding the RTX 5090 specifications have been a bit varied.
Join as we examine the latest leaked info on the Intel Battlemage hardware specs, and look at not only how it compares to our previous reports, but what this could mean for the gaming and ray tracing performance benchmarks of the Battlemage desktop GPUs. It would be fantastic if we wound up with some really good prices for entry and mid-range from both Intel and AMD by early next year. Most of us can't afford the overpriced NVIDIA options anyway, and since they've decided to price their entry level stuff at around $400, it's just not really an option for so many until those prices come down later in the life-cycle...Having some actual options in a legit entry and mid-range would be awesome.
AMD has been shit for years. Especially since Raytracing hit the market in 2018 they became absolutely unbuyable with no raytracing support at first then shitty raytracing support until now. RDNA 4 will only bring Raytracing up on par with RTX 4000 series but then RTX 5000 series will hit with double that Raytracing power already. Also AMD needed almost 2 years to catch up with NVidia on Frame Generation and FSR 3.1 which just came ouot still looks far worse than DLSS. Then there is the multiple driver issues my friends with AMD cards are still having and I had during 2005-2008 when I was buying ATI/AMD cards. Never again this shitty company. I just hope Intel will catch up to NVidia sometime because their drivers are already better than AMDs and their XeSS is better than FSR despite they still entered the marked.
Also if you can't afford a decent NVidia card you either live in a 3rd world country or doing something wrong. I've been on social support for years due to health issues and bought a 3070ti in 2022 and just upgraded to a 4070 ti super. With a full time minimum wage job I'd have about 500€ more per month then now and I would have a 4090 already. If you're anything above minimum wage you basically can buy multiple 4090s, or a 4090 rig and a new oled and a new laptop etc.

And I'm disabled, so and living in the U.S. so yes, a third world country basically. I don't even get enough to rent a one bedroom on my own, so I dn't have 4090 money...but you sound like an asshole so have at it.
The thing is about Nvidia is that without framegen, their hardware isn't much better than last gen. The 4090 is a productivity card and the 4070 is only a little better than a 3080 variant. Now, FSR is giving framegen to everyone through mods. Ghosts of Tsushima has it built in, DLSS + FSR3FG simultaneously. I have a 3080 FE that I got at retail with some left over from selling my 2070 super for more, so I'm still rooting for its power hahaha. But these cards are getting cheap now here in the US used market.

I'm more interested in the RTX 5080 and 5070 to be fair. Smaller die, lower TDP.
But before that, I'll get a brand new Ryzen 9 9950X3D (if the V-cache is on the 2 dies) or 9950X (if not) and use VMs to split the 2 dies down the middle.
Once my config is fully functional, I'll do PCIE passthrough and add 2 GPUs, one for each VM.
And no, im not doing this with HyperV. I'm doing this with Proxmox.
I'm curious and excited for new hardware, but my expectations are very low for the coming gen.

A770 in terms of silicon is between 7800XT and 7900GRE, and competes with 6650XT, i don't expect anything until i see stellar reviews, so most probably nothing until druid, at that point it might be mature enough and we'll have some driver overhead from 4 generations of cards

You cannot turn on the AC when recording due to noise? I'm doing exactly that and then on davinci resolve I turn on noise isolation, set it to 70% and presto, no AC noise in the video

Not gonna lie, I’m hoping Intel GPUs are gonna be GOOD enough for video editing AND ray tracing or path tracing WITH 16 gigs of VRAM. I will buy it in a heart beat
They need to up the VRAM on 80 series. At that level and at that $$$ level, I should be able to do some more extensive work with AI / Graphics. 16GB is just not enough.
I don't wanna wait another 2 years to upgrade, but 28gb VRAM is not enough to push me to upgrade... I really hope they give us 32gb Vram....

I'm definitely picking up a B870 if it's roughly 4070 Super performance at around $400~429, original 4070 has been falling down in price somewhat so getting too close that I wouldn't necessary feel it's a good deal anymore if it's just getting neck n neck with 4070 but if it would be priced $350~369 then yea sure but I don't see Intel going much lower than $400 at launch honestly considering development and manufacturing costs, rather they probably try to push the card somewhat.

Lets face it there's no way Battlemage will be in the ballpark of 5070 let alone 5080. We heard the exact same thing with Alchemist and how it will be "3070 to 3080 level performance" and we all know how that ended.
Yeah Blackwell won’t be hitting 5070 or 5080 performance. It’s gonna be 5090/Ti performance.
With driver optimization, the a770 is approaching 3070 performance. Considering how huge the GPU dies are for intel, I think the horsepower is there and its just a matter of how well they can put it use.

GPUs are still very expensive (at least anything worthwhile, especially in EU) and the new ones are almost certainly going to be even more expensive. This way the market will crash or slowly die out.
For example, instead of buying the 7900 XTX I wanted this week, I'm going to buy a big two-door refrigerator for the house - and it is cheaper!

6:15 - I don't appreciate that I wanna spend $2000+ on a gpu, hopefully NVIDIA has the guts to release that RTX 'Titan' 5000, I could use that 48GB of VRAM, insane amounts of mods and testing 8K+ resolutions (and textures), among weird things like upscaling multi-hour long videos to 4K, 8K, and 16K (for testing, for Blackmagic URSA Cine 17K, and that VR camera shown at WWDC briefly, and optimizations for enterprise class VR headsets (Varjo, XTAL, Somnium, ...Pimax... '12K'), just really harsh light testing.
Oh, and also LLM, processing LiDAR point cloud (Multi Camera Angles reconstructing the 3D object from all those camera angles), 3D Render (Blender, DAZ Studio, CAD) and AI Image Generation (higher resolutions, longer animations, Stable Video Diffusion, Sora, alternatives.)

Nvidia is making a huge mistake underestimating AMD because they are coming out with a gpu that has multiple dies after radna 4. if each die is half the size of the one in the 5090 they will absolutily crush nvidia. 3 dies stacked on top of each other and its game over.
I agree. Nvidia is taking this far too lightly. RDNA 4 might not be super strong competition against Blackwell. However, there is a good chance RDNA 5 will. They also reckon Intel will compete in the high end and enthusiast class segment with Celestial, so there is a decent chance that Celestial will be strong competition against RTX 50 as well.
@@Gamer-q7v I dont think its gonna be called rdna 5 because its a completely brand new architecture built from the ground up and the last time amd did that was with ryzen and thats basicly when the gravy train of intels 1000 dollar cpus ended lol and the same is going to happen here.
intel got too comfortible being ahead and now nvidia is making that same mistake. My prediction is they solved the latency issue of having multiple dies and i think they are mostly facing a compatibility issue where the pc has to see all of the dies as just one die.
Nvidia only cares about AI, they don't want to sell GPUs to gamers.
RDNA5 hopefully will dominate Blackwell like RDNA2 did a few years ago.
@@clintonsmythers4478 This is why competition is so important. Battlemage should launch later this year and is said to be very competitive in the midrange segment. I don't think drivers would be nearly as big of a problem for Battlemage as they were for Alchemist. If Battlemage can deliver a massive performance increase over Alchemist with good drivers at reasonable prices, I think there is a good chance Intel will gain quite a bit of market share in the discrete GPU market. The flagship RDNA 4 GPU is rumoured to offer 7900 XT levels of raster performance and 4080 RT performance at half the price, which would be fairly impressive. If RDNA 4 and Battlemage can deliver some powerful midrange GPUs at reasonable prices, then hopefully, it will convince Nvidia to pack significantly more processing power into their entry level and midrange GPUs. Competition can make that happen, and it benefits us consumers. It's the key to a healthy industry. If RDNA 5 ends up being built on a completely new architecture, then yes, there is a chance it won't even be called RDNA 5. Lots of leakers have mentioned that RDNA 5 could be the Zen moment for the Radeon division. I really hope this is true. If it is, this is going to completely change the PC gaming industry.
@@nipa5961 It's their second largest business that is worth billions, and it definitely has the potential to be worth more than that. It's because of a lack of competition, which means that the gaming GPU market hasn't been great. They have other businesses besides AI and gaming that are lower priorities than gaming because they aren't as profitable. Gaming isn't their first priority, but it's not their last. Back when gaming was Nvidia's biggest business by a huge margin, you didn't see leaks or videos mention that Nvidia would ditch their data centre business to focus on gaming. Now, all of a sudden, when their data centre segment becomes their most profitable business, you see leaks and videos saying Nvidia might ditch gaming to focus on AI. It just doesn't remotely make sense in the slightest bit. It's all stupidity and BS. They will not ditch gaming, which was the core of their success.

Am I missing something with this specs graph you keep showing? The number of EUs per Xe core has halved but you list the EU count is the same as last generation. If that's true, wouldn't the number of Xe cores have inherently doubled (i.e. 64x8 = 512)?
Presumably doubling the ALUs per Xe core means that Intel - along with the clock and cache cache bumps - have delivered better effective throughput per Xe core, but if it's still just 32 Xe cores and thus 256 EUs, it's barely going to beat the RTX 4060, let alone the RTX 4070 Ti.
Further to this, N5P suggests at least a 50% increase in density, but more likely a doubling, all at roughly the same die size as ACM-G10. What is all the silicon being used for, if not a substantial subunit increase? Can't all be on RT & XMX.
