Thanks for this video, Rebekah! I have only “dipped my toes” in the online crochet community, but I love the beauty and variety. Your videos are special, like we are sitting making with you. I had to pull out a WIP to work on while I watched today’s video. 🤗 My grandmother taught me to crochet once when I was young, between 9 and 12, I think. But she didn’t live nearby and I didn’t do much with the granny square I started. I picked it back up in earnest while in college. I made many afghans. Then as a poor young married person, I found patterns for small things to make as Christmas gifts. Now I’m an avid crocheter, somewhere in the intermediate class. I have so many WIPs going and so many more projects that I want to make! I’m learning Tunisian crochet from Toni Lipsey at TL Yarncrafts.

Thank you so much for this cozy video. I've really enjoyed watching your videoes while crocheting myself. I'm so sorry to hear about your losses last year, and it's so nice of you to finish your motherinlaw's ongoing projects, so they don't just get left behind. Hope we get to see the cute little puppies in the next video! And I think it's so true what you said about gauge swatching playing a big part in stopping crocheters from going to the next level. At least I feel like that. Also, thanks for talking about mental health too. It's always nice to hear someone talking about it, because then you don't feel alone in your own mental struggles. Well, anyways, thank you for a great episode. Looking foreward to the next one!

Rebekah I really enjoyed your video and learning how you got started. I especially can empathize with the calming effect crocheting can bring to our lives. I taught myself to crochet long before you tube existed and have done so off and on for years. Since I retired I have honed my craft and consider myself an intermediate crocheter. I make garments, hats, blankets etc. I enjoy your videos for their relaxing nature and content. Looking forward to your next video.

I loved your video! I sat crocheting a finger weight infinity scarf while watching. My mum taught me to crochet 5 years ago and I was instantly hooked! I am never happier than when I am crocheting. You look after yourself. Your mental and physical health are the most important things!

Thank you for being so transparent! What a blessing to me! I identified with several things…I have fibromyalgia that has a chronic fatigue component and lately I’ve been struggling with intense stress…I have found crochet, along with Jesus, to be my saving grace ❤️. My Grandmother taught me when I was young but I didn’t keep up…I picked yarn and hooks back up several years ago because my son was interested…I haven’t put my hooks down since!

My granny taught me & my older brother to crochet when I was 8 years old. She had making doilies. I did very little until I was pregnant with my first child. My MIL gave me a kit to make a blanket for baby that was alternating Tunisian & lace squares then baby animals were crossed stitched on the Tunisian squares. When my husband got orders for the Philippines, we joined him there & our house girl Trini sat to watch her soaps & crochet. I would sit with her & also crochet. I learned so much from her & just kept learning after coming back to the US. I still love making doilies and buy every Grace Feron pattern as she releases them.

I learned to crochet from my mom when I was 13. That was many, many years ago. I just picked up my hooks again 4 years ago. Then I went on a journey to Tunisian crochet and on to knitting.

Thanks for that video Rebekah, it was very interesting and I do admire you to open up like that on mental health issues. I can relate to what you felt during those last years… My great-aunt taught me crochet with thread, 1.75 to 2mm hooks and doilies, quite like you. We learned the hard way but we crocheting is breeze after dealing with so small stitches 😉

The lady neighbor next door taught me to crochet, just the basic stitches. I have no idea why she chose me to teach. I've dabbled in it for decades but took time off when raising my kids. I've been crocheting almost every evening for about 6 years now and have really expanded my crochet skills & knowledge.

@@RebekahHaasCrochet me too. I will always wonder why. I don’t remember their last name or I would try to find her. She’s probably passed but she did have a son.
