I don't think many builders actually have much of an advantage in Build Mart. It's more a game about proper organising and base knowledge of blocks. It seems more like an organisation and communication challenge than a building challenge.
No, they’re well practiced at building shapes and counting spaces and block quantities. Not to mention their familiarity with the materials to identify them at a quick glance(at least before the texture pack update). Their eyes are well trained for it because that’s THEIR most familiar and practiced skill in Minecraft. False is an excellent builder on Hermitcraft as well and she’s the same way, soloing builds with ease. Building is just as much an ingrained skill for them as pvp is for others. Or parkour. Or elytra flying. I like how MCC tries to include games that allows all the different skills of Minecrafters to be featured. It makes it more enjoyable because it’s less repetitive and more fun to see how all the different players learn and play off each others strengths and try to mitigate each others weaknesses.
@@cl-jp3uv it's probably an empty chest until it goes under the covered part at the end, when the key gets dispensed, lol But it took me a second to figure it out
Tbf I also get confused about things in the same way, it’s just a setting of something new, some communication missing, and not enough time to ask a question or realize you didn’t understand how it worked
Fun Fact: Most of the top Minecraft builders do not use scaffolding themselves when they build in survival mode. They usually use dirt or some block that is easy to break and it's abundant like netherack as scaffolding due to the machenic of the scaffolding is annoying to work with.
Thank you for this video, that's a great topic for a compilation. It's the golden middle ground between posting single clips or compilations of the whole event. It was hilarious to see almost everyone struggle, but not really enough to make me watch every single team's Grid Runners, so this is a nice way to get to see those perspectives too.
Once I got ahold of scaffolding, it was quite easy to learn the mechanics. You just need a lot of it. I would imagine professional builders of Minecraft knew the mechanics of scaffolding, which doesn't surprise me with how fast Joel, Scott, & Grian were going.
I started this being like "I don't use scaffolding much, this is probably going to be lost on me." And I ended this like "Oh my god these people have never used scaffolding in their lives the mistakes they're making are so basic"
scaffolding was added for ease of use and is very simple to understand if you just try for 3 seconds. ever since it was added ive always been confused on why no one knows how to use it
And this is why Grid Runners is important as a game. Along with Build Mart. It tests game knowledge and benefits the more well rounded players over the glass cannons who are amazing in a few areas but clearly terrible at building and actual game knowledge like with Scaffolding.
As someone who spent years learning how to use scaffolding while building, it will never leave my side while i'm building. With just a few extra normal blocks in hand, you can build platforms over an empty space, which helped a lot with my airship build. It physically hurts seeing that first attempt lmao
The thing with scaffolding is that it has quite the amount of advantages that normal solid blocks just can't compare to. Such as that it is easier to break than solids, easier to climb and easier to build vertically with. Don't get me wrong, solid blocks such as dirt and netherrack still has its advantages such that it doesn't fall and is much simpler to use than scaffolding. I feel like the reason why these expert builders either doesn't know how to use or refuse to use scaffolding is because it is new and they'd rather stick with the much simpler blocks. But ignoring scaffolding is ignoring potential. You could mix together both scaffolding AND solid blocks where you build up with scaffolding and then you go horizontally with solids. I'm sure these expert builders already found out the usage-they're not stupid-but I feel like they could spend a bit more in actually using scaffolding.
I mean..what do you expect? Grian is a great builder and even used the scaffolding in the hermittopia Scott Is also a pro builder Joel have you seen his empires, he builds so many big and tall buildings
None of those players are well-rounded. That's why I didn't agree with people saying that Dream and Techno are the best Minecrafters. They, especially Techno, are the best pvpers. You'd have to be way more well-rounded than Dream and Techno to be the best Minecrafters

To be fair the non-minecraft pros probably didn't even know scaffolding existed in minecraft and on top of that it's a very useless block outside of its construction like appearance.
The thing is Joel alwags pushes himself to build giant bases and dirt is just annoying to use sometimes and getting rid of it takes awhile so scaffolding is probably the thjng he uses alot so knows too much about jt lmao

I honestly never use scaffolding but I'm surprised they don't know about half of its mechanics. I mean, a ticking clock definitely makes it harder to rack your brain in their defense, and I don't really see people use it that often in place of normal dirt Thank wattles for his info 🙏
