Another exceptional lesson Dave...! Man, that Strat sounds great too.
Cheers!
In high school I played pretty much all the brass instruments, except trombone.
I studied only a little bit of music. And I have absolutely no guitar playing experience.
And yet I was fascinated by what you were teaching. Of course, it helps that I'm the most fanatic lover of anything even remotely connected to Chic.
That being said, Very Well Done on your lesson!! You've given me further insight into a song I've loved since way back when it was orinally released.
Thank You!
Thanks Lee, I am glad you liked the lesson.
Been after this for ages! Thanks so much. As ever you've nailed it. Great lesson.
I see what you mean about Niles changing things. I've just been playing We are family and was sure my strat was 'out of tune', but I found an older recording and bingo - perfection !!!! Thanks Dave.
Aw man I recommended this and have only just realised you uploaded it. Thanks so much mate, you're a legend
You're welcome Brett. Yep, posted this in February. If you've already subscribed click on the notifications button then you get alerts for any new posts :)
Wow, that's great! Thanks!
Great lesson! Thanks
Amazing lesson Dave! Thank you! Do you happen to have another tutorial covering the other guitar parts of this song?
Thanks for the lesson
Hi Dave, Thanks for this brilliant tutorial.
Could you also post a link to your backing track ?
Thanks again
Superb tutorial as always Dave
Cheers Craig!
CON-GRA-TU-LA-TIONS!
ANOTHER GREAT ONE FROM NILES. THANKS DAVE, MUCH APPRECIATED.
Glad you enjoyed it
Can you please teach The Isley Brothers song "Groove With You"? Thanks man.
Thanks Dave
You're welcome
dave your a great teacher
while i;m here a lesson on rock your baby would be much appreciated , possibly the funkiest rythym guitar ever ?
George McCrae?
yes ,i always thought it was nile ,but it wasnt . the extended version has the groove just locking in , it was kc and the sunshine band ,,sort of.. makes me wonder if nile took his style . i cant remember his name it is googleable. he dances ...on the guitar.
It's nice to have songs that start with an *E noyn cold* (1:51).
Big fan of Nile but never heard this one. Reminds me of 'Lady' by Modjo.
Thanks for the lesson Dave! Keep em coming. :)
emdblues it was the same for me. Never heard this one but recognised it from Modjo's Lady. I will post a separate lesson on Lady next time.
yep, Modjo sampled it. :)
Oh dear. You know this predates that song other by about 20 years and is the original sample?
Soup for one... when you're on the run!
I heard this song many times back in the day. This was a very popular song along with all the others. Finally found a lesson on it. Nile Rodgers also plays this song on his UA-cam Master class video. Dave breaks it down here in bite size pieces which is nice too.
where did you find the backing track?
i think he made it himself. he says a lot of effort went into making this video so makes sense. And you can see he has alot of guitars in the background
Funnily enough I did learn to play this. You're version is more accurate though.
It's funny, I'm learning this song so I can play a different song, Lady - hear me tonight
Lady, hear me tonight. ✌️😂
Chic play that live now I think. 👍🏻
@@freakybeaky1 Nice!! 😀👍
