    I find your vids very helpful. Not had a period for two years, I found a healthier diet helped with the flushes, however I'm so stiff, and this started as my periods stopped. I've had x rays ..just wear and tear, but how it came on, was unbelievable. ..any tips please ( I'm vegetarian btw ) eating almonds deffo helped my hair, skin and nails

      Hi Lindsay
      Unfortunately, stiff joints are really common in the menopause and often caused by dehydration and lack of lubrication. Remember to drink loads of plain water every day and you may also find a fish oil supplement can be of benefit.

      if you are vegetarian then you may find a flaxseed oil supplement or a 3,6,9 vegetarian oil blend helpful

    Very informative for me, can't get over night sweats I have accepted them as part of me. Just wondering, could the skin problem I have, lichen planus be blamed on menopause? My skin keep breaking up with rashes and lots of itching for last three years, clears with dermatologist ointment then comes up again, please help

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  5 років тому +1

      Hi Sarah
      It is possible; falling oestrogen can affect immune function which could make your more vulnerable to this if you were already predisposed. Sometimes doing a gentle liver detox can be of benefit and you could add in the Milk Thistle Complex for a couple of months. Acupuncture may also be worth looking into as it can help to balance out the hormones.

    I recently started suffering severe brain fog, what can I do to stop this problem? I’m taking all my vitamins. Sleeping 8 hours, but always feeling tired or exhausted. How long does this last? I’m in my first year of menopause, you mentioned in another video symptoms might get better within in 2 years?

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  4 роки тому

      Hi Iliana
      Constant fatigue can be caused by a number of factors so it is a good idea to ask your doctor to test you for low iron, low thyroid function, low vitamin D and B12 just to rule these out.
      Remember to drink lots of plain water every day as dehydration caused by falling oestrogen can be a big trigger in brain fog! You could also add in the herb Ginkgo Biloba which is known to help with memory and focus. www.avogel.co.uk/herbal-remedies/ginkgo-biloba/
      Many women do find that their symptoms start to ease off round about the 2 year mark but this can depend on general health, diet and stress management so it is important to look after yourself well at all times!

      Sue Camp I have been been taking silica caps from health food store which has helped my hair and nails and skin. It's about 50 dollars but I found a huge difference .

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  5 років тому

      Hi Sue
      Falling oestrogen can affect the oil glands on the scalp and if you produce less oil your hair will get drier. You may find taking a Sea Buckthorn Oil capsule may be of benefit and a colleague has suggested applying a little olive oil to the hair, massage well in and leave overnight.

      I have found that all the things she mentioned in this video are so important to helping anxiety. I downloaded the app called Headspace a year ago and I have done it everyday. Sometimes twice. It has helped me to be more mindful of what thoughts are bangin' around in my head. It has also helped to lower anxiety because I can catch anxious thoughts and let them pass by. I also found a site for anxiety and anxiety disorder (which I am slowly conquering 😊), it is called anxietycentre. It has been an answer to prayer for me. Cognitive behavioral therapy is KEY to Overcoming! Anxiety has been a bit more troublesome for me during perimenopause so the skills I am learning have DEFINITELY been helping. Hope all this helps you, too!

      What helped me was to learn where these panic attacks as i call them come from. Ive search a lot and finally found a site who gives the explaination wich i like to believe. The part of the brain wich is responsible for body temperature has also the intuïtion! And when hotflashes start the intuïtion goes along with it plus the autonome nervoussystem, breathing, heartbeat.. so it seems you constantly think something is wrong. Then you get the stresshormone, fight of flight. Since i learned it just is the intuition goin crazy im more sure and relax that its not me goin crazy lol
