"FASCINATING" may be correct to describe unusual. No matter what the Parade, they are always enjoyable no matter what the event. But if it wasn't for the people donating their time, and taxe payers footing the investment for law enforcement, fire, government resources that made up for the majority of the parade, something that I have no problem with. But I find it absolutely deplorable ,and disgusted with the retail system who did absolutely nothing except for very few like Giant Tiger. These multinational retailers, mostly American. Who take billions in profit from Canada, and are seeing record profit margins,. The mall owners like Fairview Cadillac , retailers like Walmart, Costco, metro, independent, winners, The Bay, "Canadian" Tire , Tim Hortons, Sports Check, McDonald's, Rogers, Tellus, Ottawa Centers, etc etc etc. All these commercial retailers who make billions in profits on Christmas, but yet didn't contribute nothing to the parade.
I appreciate your perspective. The support from the community and local businesses can indeed enhance parades and events. It's disappointing when large retailers don't contribute, especially during festive seasons. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
