Love seeing Thorfinn grow. Although he wasn't supposed to be thrust into this harsh world.

I hate Askeladd too, he's a mercenary, he does what vikings do, pillaging, raping and chopping heads...
He killed Thors cowardly, without honor, he was paid for it.
And all of what I'll say is 'cause of the pride, but...
He left thorfinn alive on the boat, he would have let thorfinn kill him while asleep, he didn't kill thorfinn later during the first duel.
The big mushroom guy didn't kill Thorfinn, he felt compassion.
He actually gave thorfinn an advice that saved him against the wolf.
Askeladd didn't kill Thorfinn the second duel, but he challenged Thorfinn to become more stronger and find a bigger sword to duel him again.
I'm not saying Askeladd is a good guy, absolutely not.
But what I have seen in this episode is that Askeladd now is both the worst Thorfinn enemy but also the man that helped him the most surviving, developing skills and strengthening his mind.
I hate Askeladd, I hate his warriors, but if not for them Thorfinn would be death or lost in despair.
This is also the less Japanese episode until now, finally a real Vikings episode, finally a messy episode 😂😂😂🤦
Wait till you watch the next episode!!! You’ll be like wtf?!! Atleast that was my reaction. Askeladd is a very complicated character. Most of things in this anime are open for interpretation. I have seen people interpreting every character and their doings in many different ways.

We see the same facts by many different angles.
Anyway yes, surely what we see in this episode it's just a side of him. He's a man & a Viking after all 😂
I’m a bit confused, I thought you said you’ve watched Vikings? Vikings raid villages, it’s not a matter of wether there are civilians or not that’s what they did, it was a way of life
Yeah I did watch Vikings. But I tried to keep that show aside and watch this with a fresh perspective because I kept trying to link that to this. Then I realised both are completely different shows.
But in one of the recent episodes, I do mention something like “this used to happen a lot back then. People would go raid villages and kill everyone there”
