This short but condensed method is designed for anyone wanting to learn about the nuances of Jazz improvisation and put them into practice. It contains a brief theoretical introduction, followed by thirty-two examples of how to obtain “tasty” solos using tension and resolution while improvising over II-V-I chord progressions in different major and minor keys. There are also four melodic studies based on the chord changes of these renowned Jazz classics: Autumn Leaves, All the Things You Are, On Green Dolphin Street and How Insensitive. The ‘written solos’ associated with these tunes guide the student in developing a better sense of how to improvise over the chord changes of hundreds of other Jazz standards.

Come sempre una 'lezione' che va all'essenza delle tecniche, spiegate c9n chiarezza esemplare e senza fronzoli.
Molto d'accordo sulle considerazioni a margine dell'esercizio 4 e sull'ispiratore (Lenny).
L'esercizio 3 è sicuramente il più efficace.

Caro Andrea, come puoi immaginare il tuo commento mi fa molto piacere. A prescindere dalle mie misere qualità strumentali, mi fa piacere pensare che il video che ho realizzato possa far conoscere a qualche giovane chitarrista il grande Lenny Breau, che secondo me non è da meno rispetto ad altri "giganti" della storia del Jazz come Wes Montgomery, Jim Hall, Joe Pass, Pat Martino, eccetera.
