    "They will never know its not cooked" I'm guessing they can tell it's not cooked by the fact it would be cold!

    I bet this would taste great when it is finished off with cheese and baked at 200deg for 45 minutes.

    Great recipe. My family loved it. I DID make just a couple of small alterations however. I added Spicy Italian Sausage (Organic, of course), a couple pounds (approximately) of Ricotta cheese (also organic), then a pound of Mozzarella mixed with 3/4 pounds of Provolone. Oh, and I replaced the Zucchini with some Gluten Free, Organic Lasagna Ribbons. Yummy! I baked it for an hour at 350, then put it under the broiler for 5 minutes for that ooh gooey top. MMMM! My family didn't even realize that they were eating raw vegan food! (Just Kidding.) This looks great!

      Layers of soft yet chewy carbs, tomato sauce and subtle creamy sauce... Sounds like lasagne to me!
      You could dehydrate the zucchini slices so they become a little tougher and absorb some of the oils and juice out of the sauce just like pasta, but I really don't see the need for that...

  • @jdstep97
    @jdstep97 9 років тому +36

    I loooved this recipe. But I will say that for me, I had to use the dehydrator. Sorry. I know Kristina tells us "fresh is best". I ate a bit of the lasagna, and it was just okay. I let it sit overnight. The next day I put it in the dehydrator about two hours at 115 degrees. Yum! Excellent! It just seems that letting it sit and then using the dehydrator just merged all the flavors together in such a pleasant way. And I sprinkled sea salt and nutritional yeast on it. It was not just okay anymore, but very, very yummny. Maybe I have a ways to go with my raw vegan palate, but I'm makin' it happen.

    • @shelbymaberry3823
      @shelbymaberry3823 9 років тому +3

      I'm pretty sure dehydrated still falls under the "raw" category. I've seen her use dried tomatoes in a recipe before.

    • @jdstep97
      @jdstep97 9 років тому +4

      Shelby Maberry Yes, many raw foodist dehydrate, but many try to refrain since "fresh is best". As long as the food is not cooked over about 115 degrees, it's considered raw. Usually you can do that low on a dehydrator. Regular stoves don't go that low.

    • @shelbymaberry3823
      @shelbymaberry3823 9 років тому +3

      Oh okay! I didn't know that! Thanks! I only just started eating vegan a few weeks ago so I'm really new to all this stuff. Probably shouldn't go shooting my mouth about dehydrators then without knowing what they are haha!

    I am "just" a regular vegan because to be honest, FullyRaw would be a horror in Europe because more than half of the year you are excited for a warm meal to keep you from freezing o.o Also, I do not quite like raw tomatos... but I´ll most definitely try the raw burrito because that just sounds and looks divine

      It is missing cheese but I enjoyed it anyway. I sliced the zucchini and then salted it and set it aside for an hour. Then rinse really well and don't use any other salt. That way the zucchini does not turn to mush. It is really good.

    So a raw vegan can never eat anything warm or hot? Their lasagna has to be cold... And crunchy? Jesus. I live in VT, where it's winter most of the year. I see this being a problem. I love being a vegan, but this is too extreme. I like Kristina a lot, but I'm giving up on this whole notion.

      Jean Kirstein lol, too true. Blended salad, layered salad, mixed-up salad, chunky salads, smooth salads, frosted salad, fruit salad, spiralized salad... You're so right. She's just making a billion variations of salad. But when you're a raw vegan, you kind of don't have many other options.

If you have not already committed to changing your lifestyle, I wouldn't expect you to appreciate the creativity of these videos. Keep up the good work Kristina.

    I mad this for my family. I'm not a zucchini girl bit I made it anyway. my kids hated it. lol. but they're 13, 6 and 8.😊my husband took one look at it when he got home and said NO WAY!!. but tried it anyway. he loved it. had it with some chips😁. we're not raw but I like to try new things. I'm dehydrating the leftovers for my lunch today. would I try this again??... huummm. maybe with Diacon radish instead of zucchini. 😊

    Any chance you'll ever do a video on raw "products" for the outside of your body? I know Megan Elizabeth sometimes uses fruit for makeup, and a lot of people use raw coconut oil for their skin and hair, but I'm curious about your beauty routine!

    Just curious, since you eat so much food, how are you able to fit all the food in your fridge if there are other people living with you (I think you said you live with other people in another video)? Do you have multiple refrigerators?

    If you use one cup of pine nuts that has over 50% fat calories, which I would not consider as low fat...

    • @alcyonae
      @alcyonae 8 років тому +4

      +F. Ruit Ugh. 50% of 5-10% of a whole dish is low fat, good fat, that lower bad cholesterol, suppress hunger, they're rich in vitamin E and the B-complex group, manganese, omega fatty acids, and other health benefits.

      fat is key. a human will die without fat. a human will die without protein. A human will not die without carbs. People arent fat because of fat. They are fat because of over processed foods and SUGAR (carbs). The more fats you eat the slimmer people tend to be, (the only exception being trans fats which are impossible for the body to process, but these are not found in your friendly little pine nuts) sooo yeah those pine nuts arent makin ya fat, just eat em!
