Better to say that we own nothing and that all we have is a privilege. Thats how we raised our kiddos. Even their rooms and their clothes were a privilege. Our clothes and house, as their parents, were a privilege, to us, from the Father, from Whom our blessings come. And thru Whom we are privileged to bless others. If something is stolen from us we ask God to bless others thru the sacrifice of the object that was never ours to begin with.
It’s so hard to return what God let me borrow for 21 years- my son. I have trusted my Lord, but it takes it to another level of trust when I have to fully understand it was my son’s time to go back to our Lord, it’s surpassed all my definition of trust.. I am human and it hurts-I miss my son. Yet, I’m learning to live without him and saying every day” I offer you my Lord all my suffering and show me how to trust you with this too”. 🙏🏻
I’ve been struggling with trusting and surrendering some parts of my life to God. As if they were mine to begin with. This sermon really struck me hard. The wisdom from it! He wants me to trust him and surrender to him parts of my life that I’m trying to control, of which I really have no control over as my brain tries to tell me. But the way that Fr. Mike worded this today was so helpful! None of what he wants me to surrender to him while I’m still alive is really mine. Not my life, not my children, not my spouse, not my job, etc. They are gifts He entrusted me with. I know why my mind and heart wants to grasp onto these things in the way it does because of my past, but he has been teaching me new ways of seeing the whole picture. This sermon about borrowed time is such a great perspective! Thank you, Father Mike!🙏🏻
