No one has caught on yet, but soon it won't be something we will be able to hide much longer. Northern lights being seen below the 49th parallel was an event seen once every 20 years or so. Last year it happened 6 times. The news is trying to sell it as normal now. And it's not to do with the sun getting more out of hand. Solar cycles have been getting weaker since the 80's. Our Magnetosphere is rapidly getting weaker because of the ongoing magnetic excursion. You have about 10 to 20 years left where you can enjoy electricity.
I watch them regularly in Saskatchewan, they are beautiful. Multiple times per year every year. Where are you getting your information about once in twenty years?
Don't worry, you'll all see it, there are actually now 6, full Halo, CME's on their way and one has just hit us already. This is just the beginning, it'll be a sporty weekend, hope you took out cash. This isn't going to end on Saturday, it takes up to and about 3 days travel time from the sun for the bulk to hit us, as I'm watching NOAA all night, we've had at least two more CMEs, full Halo, on their way. So, this, as I said, is just beginning, our grids are going to continue to take hits for at least the next three days.

Yeah, my whole family got to see them all across BC. And all the neighbours got out to see too. If you had a niece phone. It would capture the pictures even better than you could see them with the naked eye. It was the best colour display I had ever seen. Here in Victoria.

The waves are close and may combine but its not a kill shot.
I saw it on the night of May 10 @ 10:30pm… in Essex.. it was strange.. not very visible with the naked eye but as soon as I put my phone up and looked through the camera and took pictures with my phone, it all showed up, cool, but creepy
wow how will people survive all that time without their smart homes. could be mass panic in the cities.🤣🤣🤣 just like war of the worlds. HG Wells is still laughing about the gullibility of people.
We are more used to it because it happens more often. Northern lights seen south of the 49th parallel was an event that would happen once every 20 years. Last year we had 6 such events. And no, the Sun is not getting more out of hand. The solar cycles have been weakening since the 80s. It's not a conspiracy. It's just a fact that are in an ongoing magnetic excursion. Which causes the magnetosphere to weaken.
Any display of the northern lights that isn't bright enough to be seen in the city isn't worth getting out of bed to see. At work I would keep an eye on the night sky as a major geomagnetic storm would mean we would have to stop drilling and I'd get the night off. If you looking to see them go to the centre of a park, if there is a good display you'll see them.
Addressing climate change takes precedence over mitigating the potential impact of a solar flare on the grid. Constructing lead enclosures around critical grid infrastructure could effectively solve the issue at a reasonable cost, yet this solution remains largely unexplored.
