I love it when you show the "type" in an Old Testament Bible story. I've learned so much. Job is a type of the church. Job's suffering is the suffering and an appointed servant, GOD picks out. His three friends are the church turning on this servant blaming the servant for his own affliction. This I have learned through 16 years in the fiery furnace of affliction with the heat turned all the way up, these past six years. Today, I am healed. I was finally let out on Thursday this week. I've never felt this much as peace or good since this all began in 2005.
I was nice and relaxed, laying here with my eyes closed, listening and enjoy Steve's teaching like I always do, figuring that he already knew what I was talking to the Holy Spirit about, concerning something he said just now. Then the Holy Spirit spoke to me telling me to get up and tell you what we were just discussing. This is our conversation: I said to the Holy Spirit, "Doesn't he know that when he's thinking to himself, even if he doesn't address GOD, that it's You? Doesn't he know that You perceive His thoughts from afar, and if a thought like that comes into his head, and then it happens, that it was You who put that idea in his head, because You dwell within us with Your Holy Spirit Doesn't he know that just because he thinks he's thinking to himself, he's really talking to you, GOD?" And the Holy Spirit answered me, "Did he just say that he wasn't even talking to GOD in his sermon? So, get up and tell him what you know." Of course, I rebutted and said, "But, GOD, he's Steve, the pastor I learn from." There was no answer to that, because I knew exactly what the HS spirit was going to say, ( Matthew 18:4 So whoever will humble himself like this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoever receives one such child in My name, receives Me;) in other words, we are all children and we can all learn from each other. He who is humble enough to learn from someone who learns from him is one who is the greatest in heaven. I learned how to direct ALL my thoughts toward GOD, every single one, because I have ADHD, and it's NEVER quiet up there in my head. I'm "talking to myself" all the time, so I just trained myself to direct all my thoughts as questions to the Holy Spirit. I usually can discern which thoughts are from the Holy Spirit, because if it fits the Scriptures and the character of GOD, and not something I would have come up with on my own, (because I'm stupid, lol) then that thought must have come from the Holy Spirit/GOD. This is what Paul meant by pray continuously. So, this is how I live. I have no one else to talk to, my husband left me several years ago, thus, I talk to GOD all the time, when I'm not talking to my children. One time, when I was doubting that I was hearing from GOD so much, I asked Him. "GOD, are you really talking to me that much, telling me things, revealing Your secrets to me?" Then He said, "Child are you really talking to me that much, seeking answers, asking Me what it is I want to do with you?" Then His Holy Spirit led me to Psalm 25:12-14 which I already knew. (Who is the person who fears the Lord? He will instruct him in the way he should choose.13 His soul will dwell in prosperity, And his descendants will inherit the land.14 The secret of the Lord is for those who fear Him, and He will make them know His covenant.) So, that's how the Holy Spirit talks to us all the time. He answers our questions with Scriptures. He puts thoughts in our head that are from GOD. Warning, the devil sends demons to put thoughts in our heads, thus one HAS to know the Word of GOD forward, backward, inside, outside, and upside down, (A little Dr. Seuss humor) in order to truly be able to discern the thoughts of GOD from the suggestion of the devil.
Pastor Steve, It was great to drive up from Boise and to hear this teaching live. We spoke to you after the service and told you we have a little group that went through Revelation with you last year and we are going through Genesis this year. I watch your videos and take notes and send them out to the group. We watch a video weekly and then have a discussion on the message via Zoom.
