I guess in the Philippines, they are really family oriented that even if their son or daughter have their own family, they still lives with their parents and taking care of their grandchildren. The songs also means that after their parents hardwork for them, its now payback time for the children to their parents. Taking care of the parents after many years of sacrifices for them

SB19 is from the Philippines and it's part of our culture to give importance to our family (in short, we are family oriented nation) we always put our family first especially our parents before we care for ourselves. And actually, I never stanned any boy or girl groups, not even kpop but SB19 is different. The moment I watched their MAPA Lyric Video, I cried so hard since I really missed my parents back in our province and It's been a years since I visit them due to Covid-19.
I don't have a bias on SB19 since all of them is lovable, talented and good in different ways. So far, my ultimate favorite song of SB19 is MAPA. It so relatable and you can't deny the fact that it can hits you hard the moment you listen to this song.

"Mapa" is a metaphor in the song. It literally means a map, but they transformed it to mean Ma and Pa and how they guided us through our life's journey. It's very clever how the composer of the song gave us 2 literal meanings of the word 'guide'. Hence the map on the video.

Great Singers-musicians, Dancer-choreographers, rappers..they sing in Filipino or sometimes a combo of English and Filipino...a word of advice though--don't react to official MVs of their songs, because their live performances are a far superior flex of their abilities..nice rv

One of their members (Justin) is also the creative director behind their MVs. The group's leader, Pablo, composed most of their songs, too! Pre debut, they also used to sing for Chinese and Korean audiences. They had to learn Chinese and Korean languages in so short a time, without language tutor at that, it was giving them a lot of breakdowns and reasons to give up. But hey, look at them now!
