No, the backups are kept within the "Microsoft 365 data trust boundary" according to Microsoft. I don't believe Azure is inside that boundary. In any case, it's not a location you can access directly. It's accessible only via the M365 Backup interface and via its APIs.
Just for billing. Azure has the billing model that M365 Backup needs. The M365 Admin Center is better for more flat-rate types of billing, but not consumption-based billing.
cool thing, but f*%cking expensive. Let's figure out how I will get the money from our management otherwise I'll have to find another solution. Thanks for the video
Any backup system will cost $$$. There's a lot of storage space needed to back up something like SharePoint. At least we've got an option from Microsoft instead of using a 3rd party vendor.
🔥🔥 I've got an entire playlist full of SharePoint Premium videos ➡ ua-cam.com/play/PLVOp_3uXKIkILZsthmh5Q9WmzxsNj__hU.html
Good Breakdown, good to see Microsoft finally has a backup platform. Long time coming.
I know, right? It's crazy it took them this long 🤣
Thank you for the video. Do you know if also Teams is being backed up?
No, just the Exchange mailboxes, SP Sites, and OneDrive accounts.
Great video. Thanks alot. I had just one question. The backup of all these will be taken in Azure. Is it backed up in a storage account?

@@stevecorey365 ok. So why is Azure subscription and create a Resource group?

What solution would you use to back up teams? Chat Channels etc...?
I've heard other organizations using Rubrik to backup many things in their tenant.
I’m lost. Is there a how to use Microsoft 365 Backup for dummies?
We would like to have backup retention policy longer than 1 year
