At first I was gonna ask for a multiplayer mayhem but yeah get TB and Dodger in it, it'll be great. But you guys should know how to play the game first, you pretty much got the hang of it by the end. Basically to win the game you need to achieve your norma (basically goals) which is either collect x number of stars or defeat x number of enemies, depending on the board 1 of those goals will be easier to achieve (in this video it would've been easier to collect stars). When battling, defending subtract the enemies attack (e.g. def is 2 and atk is 5 and u get 3 damage) even though you roll say a 5 def and it's 2 atk you'll always take at least 1 damage. Evade however is an all or nothing, you need to get at least 1 point more than the attack to evade and take no damage at all, any less and you'll take the full atk damage.
TB is never going to agree to this, he is 100% anti-animu.

Bunkhead It's just the aesthetic, he has played and enjoyed animu games before (although he would prefer if it wasn't). If it's just the aesthetic of the game (and as long as it's not too animu) yet the gameplay is fun I don't think he will object much to it (it's only when it involves story and characters like say Hyperdimension Neptunia)

Norma is the goal of this game and whatever your goal is:
>Gain a certain amount of stars or ...
>Win a certain amount of battles
The cards them selfs uses "Star level" as power to use them which is at the sides of the card. The more stars the card have the more you use (sometimes, been a while) but can be useful if used wisely in the game. If you complete your norma you'll gain a level which is at the side of your character and your character have stats:
>Attack - Take the unit's/Player's HP
>Evade - Evade attack
>Defend - Defend attack
*tip: The stats below when you battle will state how much you have for each, and whatever you roll adds to that stat*
Some have a certain amount of stats and some "Buffs" which is on your character. this game is fun once you know how to play.

This game is actually fun once you know how to play it. It's super RNG though and can get super frustrating. This would make a good coop lounge but dealing with all the bitching from ignorant people would be too much.

At 36:56 he had a choice to fight the violet girl with 1hp while Jesse had 5hp, but instead he turns right and lets the girl win 2 turns later.
Not to mention that you guys couldnt figure out the simple defend/evade system, this was very frustrating to watch

I can't even count the number of times I watched Fern Gully as a kid. That movie is the freaking best.
I have never played this game before. I have never _seen_ this game before.
But damn it if I can get most of the mechanics after watching three turns how are they still questioning how combat works half an hour later!?
Jesse paying 0 attention to the mechanics of battle in this game. And then yelling about getting KO'd because he tried to evade when the other person rolled a 5.
The combat system is simple roll higher to win. defend will subtract from the damage if successful but cant nullify all damage, evade can nullify all damage but if you don't roll higher, you will take full damage.
During a battle you can see stats which will increase or decrease your roll, when Crendor rolled a 5 for evade his evade stat changed it to a 4, the opponent rolled a four which had its stats change it to a 5 so it dealt full damage.
My favorite thing about this game is that no one knows how to play when they start their first game but the mechanics are really simple so everyone figures it out halfway through and then get frustrated while they try to catch up to the cpu.
Also Jesse, if you pick the "Win 5 battles" norma, you have to actually fight things.
This would be a great co-optional lounge game.

I got excited for the video and almost exited when I heard Crendor haha. He tested my patience in the Whistleblower play through.
I'll wait for the day Jesse ends up playing Kantai Collection.... though it seems impossible and a bit time-consuming to get in xD
He will have no idea what to do and will probably sink the first ship he crafts. It will be glorious.

This game is basically Mario Party without the mini-games. You know.. the one element that makes Mario Party even a remotely fun series to play with friends?
Though this game does have online multiplayer, which makes it more attractive to fuck around in with friends. But it really doesn't hold up very long.
have to agree. It is like the mario party mode with partner battles in like mario party 4 and i think 5. I think it could be fun with more cards and equipment and such. Also they need to give you a card each turn at least to add to variety. Cryaotic played a game recently called Arthello (not sure on spelling) that is like this but with more variety and objectives which seems more fun.

I bought a 4 pack of this game a while ago as a joke for some friends and it's surprisingly fun to play if you can look past Animu and RNG.
Like I said in my own review of the game: This game is like Mario Party, just with more fighting and more anime girls. It may seem REALLY stupid, but it is extremly intense and hard.
Oh, and like it is mentioned in other comments: Grab TB and Dodger and play this with four people! It is really fun in that way!
OMG! This game is like the chibi anime version of the board game/tcg that I made up when I was in middle school.
Jesse when you defend, you are reducing damage, but the lowest it can go is 1. Evade is how you take 0 damage. That's why the numbers weren't making sense.
Crazy thing is: this game isn't even bad! Play with a few friends and it can be pretty good.

Evade is an all or nothing with ties going to the attacker and defend reduces damage based on roll but not less than 1

The reason why you get hit is because when you defend then you are still standing the tee waiting Foyle the attack but evading you move out of the attack so if you have too low an evasive roll you still get hit
This is why you go to tutorials first..

basically on anything remotely asian i give jesse/crendor 2 minutes to not make me uncomfortable and if they succeed it goes for another 2 minutes again and again. usually they last 30 seconds.
