Hi Chioma, Big thumb up for this video👍. If only things could change for the international students, especially those who are above 35 years and living in despair and fear due to the recently announced migration strategy cutting down the age from 50 to 35. This is so unfair for families who have indebted themselves by taking education loans to come to Australia, might have even sold properties or other things to get the money for university which cost is high anyway. I believe that such unfairness is not sustainable and God knows…one day is one day! Wishing courage to all concerned out there.

We'll see how long they can keep this up. Doesn't seem sustainable. Thanks for watching as always.

It's weird how blame gets thrown around at everyone but the government.

The problem is that yes it is true that many of of the the international students are renting illegally, it isn't those that are 462 but those of 417 and it isn't there fault. As most of them don't learn about their rights when it comes to work and renting, for example many don't know that it a crime for the owner to asked to be paid a bond.
If you want to put a blame someone blame the English schools as many make over million dollars per month.
I know this because most of my friends were on a 417 visa as I speak Japanese. Thought not enough to help with renting rights in Victoria.

Government blames international students because they can't vote and basically "temporary". But they keep forgetting that their universities is considered as one of their top export. What a joke.

Grateful you made this video. International students are blamed for what’s wrong in the government. IS pay thrice the fees, pay taxes the same way locals do, and have to pay for health insurances which aren’t cheap. 😢

Very true. They still pay taxes for services they can't access.

Sis the video is spot on!!! I give them 2 years of reducing migration as they plan to and they will start running around again shouting labour shortage I laugh in they will be shocked. On another note me I just love the video concept let’s leave this UA-cam business for you 🙌🙌🙌

my love for higher studies in Australia is waning day by day. On quora, International students are blamed for all Australia's woes.

Your views are spot on, you need to see what is happening in the UK. It is like scapegoating as you said. I don't want to continue to comment but you are spot on 100% and it is such a shame.

Even if I were to move there, the only reasons would be my familiarity with the country, its language and my relatives who live there who would support me.

Great Video. This is outrageous, the issue has been the Government. The Australian Government decided more than 2 decades ago that the Property Market has to be propelled by Private Investors so, the government stopped building houses, and property prices started to skyrocket because the property developers and the government are the ones that are interested in keeping the prices high: The government gets more money through taxes and the developers get pretty penny too. Australia now is a paradise for Property Developers. Now blaming international students for the house crisis is just stupid, blame the government first. International Students are in Australia legally and they pay taxes too. And also, they pay a pretty penny for their University Courses. Australian education Market is the third biggest in the world by revenue, just behind USA and UK. So Education is a big business in this country.

Nne.... I'm heavy hearted by the new rules on immigrations. I studied here, work all through covid, did jobs Australians were not interested in. I have been in the Pool for a while now, with the new rules coming into effect Mid 2024, i cant even switch to a more favoured course that can at least gurantee PR. International students are not the problem, its a shame we are the scape goat.

Chummy i hv been watching your videos for long ooo but its on tv and i didnt know i have not subcribed till today. But i just did that now vos i have been on a marathon on your study vidoes today. You are made for this🎉👏🏼
Moving on to the study issues i am so skeptical about pushing my application with the ongoing issues about housing crises and students visa rejectoin esp as i want4o relocate with my family . I have already gotten an agent but my feet are so cold😢

Thanks for subscribing. About the housing crisis, I am sure you will not be homeless - it is not an entirely impossible situation. Regarding the recent changes to the student visa route, I wish I had something positive to share on that. I can only encourage you to keep yourself updated. It is hoped that things will change as this new system doesn't seem sustainable in the long term

To me people making such statements spoke their mind without thinking thoroughly on the subject at hand. In terms of economy, whenever the demand on a market is higher than the supply, prices will inevitably rise .This is where the following questions come in: from which country are the landlords in Australia? Are they foreigners or locals? Who benefit from the "overflow of international students" when it comes to real estate, education? isn't locals? Who are the people causing inflation in renting without compassion for their own people ? Despite the fact that locals find themselves homeless did the landlords maintain an affordable renting price for their people? You mentioned Medicare in the beginning to demonstrate why international students are not freeloaders, I have another query, is Medicare free of charge? I thought is was deducted from an employee salary, isn't it? Above all, we have expats in Africa who invest there and don't even pay taxes. Even in Asia there is a flow of International students coming from everywhere and so on...anyways. As you beautifully stated there is nothing wrong with falling in love with a country, otherwise what reflexion of the British who colonized South Africa and never left until today. Migration is happening everywhere, Canadian relocate to the US, UK, Japan, China...

My dear. Just make sure you are allowed to give immigration advice. Here in New Zealand we are very careful as only licensed immigration officers like those who comoleted cources, immigration lawyers who are licensed are allowed to give advice. It is a law and people are fined thousands of dollars if immigration here about it.

Yes you can. That’s exactly what I did. Jumped on a skilled visa (491) after 1 year of study. You need to use the qualification and experience from your home country to apply if you are eligible.
