Have had my cardan shaft like this for over a year now, works like a charm.

I used just enough sections to get 80% around the bearing and then tightened the two ends with a tie wrap to pull them together. That made it so the loops were almost close enough to slide on but not quite. I then used a dental pick and a thin screwdriver to gradually coax it onto the bearing. Also, I spent a LONG time trying to slice the rubber off but did a better job slicing my knuckle. I finally put a barrel sandpaper attachment on my dremel and I was literally done in 90 seconds. The rubber goes everywhere that way so don't be surprised if you smell burnt rubber for a couple of days if you didn't wipe off the rubber from the exhaust pipes.

THE JIMMY FIX!! Nice! My 06 turbo S just went out for the second time at 117,000. The First time it got a full drive shaft at the dealer at 63,000 by the previous owner. He immediately dumped it after he fixed it. 😂

Jimi fix #00001 currently has 170,000 miles, since I first got it done in June, 2015.

Way to go, Dilberto. You are the father of the Jimi Fix. Thank you. My '08 Cayenne Turbo just had this fail after 58k careful miles. Will report back and thanks for creating the fix. Nice video to the regular mechanic guy who filmed this and everyone else here for their tips to improve / maintain the fix.

Legendary. My 06 CTT S just crapped out at 117,000 for the second time. First was at 63,000 a month before I bought It. Previous owner fixed it for over 2 grand and said screw it. 😂

If you want a bit more security than zip ties (pretty good) use PL1 roof/flashing sealant to glue everything between the hose sections. The sealant cures to about 60A and is durable.

I'm Jimi. This all started from a friend Zachery. I did the fix and he runs a porsche forum. Did you make an update video? It will last until the zip ties rot away of the bearing fails. I am curious about your update.😊

I didn't completely take the rubber off the the bearing. Do you think that is a reason why getting horrible vibration when driving 100km/h. Everything up 80km/s is perfect, but above.
