Yes i like it for the low amp clamp its a bonus it has an excellent multimeter built in too.

so if you have voltage coming from the transformer, but nothing out of the rectifier to main gun lugs, you can assume the rectifier is bad? can the diodes be repaired? or is whole new aluminum plate with diode assembly usually required?

yeah diodes can be replaced but its not easy.
