True. Companies raise the prices of goods because of everything that's going on, but they do not raise the wages of their employees. This is one of the reasons we are seeing record numbers of people quiting their jobs. The money printing and the dumb regulations by our federal government need to end or they are going to destroy our economy.

And y'all want to know why people are not rushing back to a low paying job. Why people are walking out in protest. This isn't the only state dealing with this. In 2012 I was paying $875 for a one bedroom. Now it's $1,300. The current wages do not, and have not, matched the increase cost of living.

@@joesmith1946 Let me explain. When I worked at Walmart I was getting paid 6 to 8 bucks an hour. Just out of high-school. I was living in Section 8 low income housing and I was on foodstamps. When you live in section 8 if you have no job you have no rent at all. When I quit my job my foodstamps increased by 40 dollars a month. Thats right. With the job I was already considered so poor I was within 40 bucks of recieving the same amount of assistance as if I had no job at all. I lived rent free for 1 year off around 4k in tax returns.
Now I make 17 an hour at a factory, own a home, and haven't been on foodstamps in 10 years but I'm telling you at a certain level of struggling with a low pay job you are struggling almost exactly as hard with thr job as you would be without it.

Rent always raises when leases are up for renewal. This had always pissed me off. Even 20 years ago, when apartment vacancies were abundant, they would do this. They expect the tenants to pay up, or just leave and find somewhere else. They do this because they believe that the tenants will see the burden of trying to find a new place and move worth paying the higher rent price. This is why we haven’t raised the rent on our rental home in 4 years. They are good tenants. Other than one little hiccup last year, they have always paid in full and on time. I worry though that if legislation is written, I would need to raise rent before it passes just because. The property value on the house rose, which means higher property taxes. I wouldn’t want the government to prevent me from adjusting the rent to compensate. On the other hand, I get offers on the house practically daily. If something were to happen, the other option is to refuse lease renewal, sell the house, and hope the tenants find somewhere else even close to what they had been paying, which is probably unlikely.

Not to mention job stability for many is horrid and so the idea of a 15-30 year lease (ahem mortgage) in the same location is just ludicrous when even white collar workers are treated as disposable day laborers. It's happening in Phoenix and pushing people that work 40 hours a week and don't drink or do drugs out of their homes. They are buying RV's or travel trailers if they can and trying to stay in parking lots in the city to stay close to their jobs, only to have the city police tell them they can't camp within city limits and pushing them into the desert outside city limits. Out in the desert the county sheriffs are rolling around telling people they can only camp for 14 days and any more than that and they are committing an arrestable offense. And you can't just move to another spot close by every 14 days, you have to move 25 miles or more every 14 days. Where do they expect people to go?
How are they supposed to keep their jobs?
It's like living in a trap. Your a criminal just for living outside a home. Unless you're a drug addict living in a tent on the sidewalk in the city, then you're basically left alone for months at a time.

I live in the Phoenix area, and it is so bad here! Rent is outrageous! Buying a home is equivalent to selling a kidney on the black market. Arizona is now a renter's market. More and more expensive apartments going up by the day. It's a system of weeding the rich from the poor. Homelessness has increased a great deal. Panhandling is out of control. There is one woman at my local Wal-Mart that has been pregnant more than 2 years. How miraculous! HUGE drug problems here as well. When I moved here in 2013 Phoenix was a paradise. Affordable for all, and far less issues. The crime is going up. This is what happens when people are being pushed out into the streets due to inability to pay. I have been looking at a mobile home to buy, however, mobile home and RV sales have skyrocketed. There's a shortage of good affordable mobile homes. I am looking at relocating to New Mexico. To keep their assests secretly outside of their countries. These investments are chipping away from the supply and increasing the demand for apartments to be rented at ridiculous prices along with dumb fees.
Our country is rapidly being sold to foreigners and no one seems to care. This is why you see a ton of luxurious apartments being constructed and gentrification in these places. It is the reason why professors have spoken against rich foreign students entering our country. Yet they are called racist by the mainstreamedia.
