    The purpose of INSTC is basically to avoid western sanctions/embargo's. The route is already operational in small volume. Expect unkil to fund sea pirates to launch raids on the cargo.

    • @LuisAldamiz
      @LuisAldamiz Рік тому +5

      I think the goal is broader of avoiding choke points like Pakistan or the Suez Canal. There's always the around Africa route but it's expensive. However it must be said that the INSTC was conceived before the current war in Ukraine and had as goal largely to access Europe via Russia, what is not anymore a possibility.
      India needs a more assertive West Asia policy, else it'll be dictated by either the USA or China or both.

    I think we should first secure the INSTC .. & get into a position of sustaining big volumes securely over it. The European bifurcation wait until a consensus is built over it in the BRICS.. So that if it does get perused collectively (mainly, Iran's co-operation & everyone else's nod), it becomes secure too.
    Of all the BRICS countries, India seems most vulnerable to crossfires in current geopolitics.
    Nothing on Indian front is probably gonna move until 2024 polls.. & US is working overtime on regime change here.. & if it fails, then it'll encourage & incite anarchy in India & sanction it.
    India needs to get its citizens on its side.. Currently there seems to be a gap between public assumptions & govt directions.

    • @worldview2888

      Because your profile is giving a more intelligent guess towards this topic. The reason why the video is made, is because of the unfortunate truth and reality about India - there is not much choice. There is one maybe two options to try to get to Europe, but there is no chance for partnerships, which is why Amit needs to make this video because Armenia (small and not popular country is the only country willing to look at india. Armenia only has a small population plus not everyday Russia can help Armenians.) And India needs Armenia much more than Armenia want to do anything, because if Armenia refuse to cooperate then Russia will constantly move closer to China because of economic and political ties (not to mention 1/4 of RU has been given to China. You can check the mining and resource trade that Russia gave to CN in south russia.) Lastly for your information - Iran entered BRICS to remove India .. this is supported by Russia.

    • @artculture1711
      @artculture1711 Рік тому

      @@worldview2888 India is yet undecided (even perceptively negative) on relations with US. But if it smells such backroom games on BRICS, then its hands will be tied (not that it may not have sussed it already, if there at all is something cooking that is not to its taste) .. & the rest of the BRICS will have an elephant sitting between them. I would believe, while Russia, in current situation, has to suck up to Chinese demands, it needs India as a hedge against Chinese (over)ambitions in the future. No other country can play that role.
      And if India is then pushed into western laps..then the whole game would change in favour of the West. It would be like a life line to the West which it'll take up with all glee .. & then all the oceans will be in western hands. I don't think anybody in BRICS will be too oversmart to double cross India .. Coz Indian Ocean is the oxygen of half of BRICS trade.
      None of the BRICS except China & India has a functional Navy.. has to be kept in mind.

    • @learning7140
      @learning7140 Рік тому

      @World View Re: "Lastly for your information - Iran entered BRICS to remove India .. this is supported by Russia."
      That's incorrect. Where did you get your info? There are several countries that want to become members of BRICS+ . Russia wants India in BRICS and it also supports India for a place in the Security Council. It was Russia that created "Troika" as a BRICS predecessor, bringing closer together India and China. Only with friendly neighbours and peace on its borders can India thrive.
      Unfortunately, India is getting under the Anglo-American Empire's control, without realizing that their plan isn't to help India, but to use it against China. They were always experts at "divide and rule".

    Two problems
    1. Transportation by Train is normally 5 times expensive than transportation by ship.
    2. To sell something, there must be someone to buy that. Russia and Eastern Europe have so little buying power in global perspective. So it it not profitable.

    • @artculture1711
      @artculture1711 Рік тому +1

      Train section is not the whole transport section .. It is a part of it. And dedicated freight train route corridors can reduce the cost to a large extent. Also, it is better to trade on a slightly high cost but secure route .. than a cheaper but uncontrolled & insecure (controlled by US or West) route.
      Europe already buys commodities & products from Asia. Sure, it's purchasing power is set to go down in future .. But it would also.mean that the routes & infra will become more & more secure & thus cheaper.
      Russia will stand up again .. BRICS will ensure that.

      @LuisAldamiz Рік тому +1

      India-Iran-Russia corridor was conceived before the Ukraine war as a way to reach either the Mediterranean or Baltic seas, as well as land routes to Germany, etc. in Europe. Right now it can still be useful for Indo-Russian trade, notably Indian oil imports (land transport goes via pipelines in Iran, not railroad) and potentially whatever India exports, which per the data I have, is not stuff Russia is generally interested in (refined oil, pharmacy, diamonds, rice, etc., all of which Russia produces on its own or does not consume much in the case of rice). India can still make great profits by importing Russian and Iranian crude and re-exporting elsewhere as refined oil products (diesel, gasoline, plastics, etc.) Whatever the case, what is clear is that, until the Ukraine War and related Western sanctions end, access to Europe via Russia will be severly handicapped for all countries (India and China are similarly affected but China even possibly more, because they are more distant to Suez Canal).

    What evidence do you have for saying that The United States is looking for reasons to sanction India? Or that India using the Suez Canal for trade would trigger American sanctions?

    • @LuisAldamiz
      @LuisAldamiz Рік тому

      None. The USA can't afford to expand sanctions and is actually avoiding to do so, even against much weaker countries than India. They have reached the limit of sanctionism and is actually biting them but mostly Europe, which is devastated by the "anti-Russian" sanctions, which amount to becoming a colony of the USA, to an economic suicide for all Europe.

      It is happening .. Even if.not in full volumes .. But it is being tested thoroughly .. & once secured, will become the 'non-western' trade route of & for the East.

      It was only conceived a few years ago. It's probably rendered useless by the NATO sanctions to Russia, as the goal was trading with Germany and NW Europe primarily, not so much with Russia. However it's probably still a good solution for Indian imports of Russian oil.

    The only people that can meddle in the Suez is EU/US. And they can meddle easier in Georgia, Armenia, Iran or India directly. So there's no point for a Suez alternative.

    Why India might get sanctioned using Suez though??

    • @artculture1711
      @artculture1711 Рік тому +1

      Nothing directly to do with Suez. India is most likely to get sanctioned by US if US fails in its attempts at regime change in 2024 here even after inciting & encouraging anarchy here through it's agents. Once it sanctions India, then western controlled trade routes will be inaccessible to us.. that's where Suez comes in.

    • @LuisAldamiz
      @LuisAldamiz Рік тому +1

      It's not likely to happen at all. US sanctionism has reached its limits and those adhering (namely Europe) are suffering devastating consequences.

    Is this why "spontaneous protests" are in Georgia these days?

    • @LuisAldamiz
      @LuisAldamiz Рік тому

      No. This is a surely unworkable idea. The Georgian protests were about defending the privilege of Black Rock and other US oligarchs to own the Georgian media (secondarily also aiming to open a "second front" against Russia).

    Interesting but can't work: the Georgia-Russia route itself is not practicable for large scale transport because of the South Ossetia and Abkhazian open conflicts and, anyhow, the Armenia connection to Iran is very precarious and lacks of existing roads/railroads.
    IMO India should rather have a more solid great power foreign policy and pursue to:
    1. Get Iraq and Syria back to peace and build a transport hub between the East Mediterranean and the Persian Gulf (either via Basra or via Iran or both). This is a goal that is compatible with Iranian and Chinese interests and surely also the most genuine interests of Iraq and Syria as well. However it clashes with US-Israel ambitions.
    2. Regime change in Azerbaijan would actually work better than all this Armenian speculation (legitimate but far fetched). However it's of course easier said than done, maybe it'd be better to aim for regime change in Turkey itself rather, and even, if possible, some sort of mutually benefitial resolution of the endless and harmful conflict with Pakistan. In any case, in the meantime, the NS corridor in Iran is the most viable option, more so as it's not anymore just Pakistan but crucially Afghanistan which sits in between India and the more stable parts of Central Asia further north.
    3. Having their own strong relations with Egypt and the Red Sea area seems a sensible goal for India as regional power. Right now India is the only power with interests there that lacks even of a prospective military base in the Red Sea (China, USA and France have bases in Djibouti, Russia is expected to get their own in Sudan.
    Anyway, US sanctions are not anymore what they used to be, just look at how well is Russia doing. Egypt (and actually nobody in the Global South) is not applying them and Washington is powerless to try to enforce them anyhow.
