- Today we're talking about 2022 snow plow setups and filming 20+ rigs from guys that came up to the Novi meetup to eat chicken wings and network. It was a great time catching up with everyone and making new friends.
I put out a call that if you wanted to, bring your snow plow setup, we can record an impromptu vlog to highlight your setup! We had guys there with Chevys, Fords, and Rams, and guys rocking BOSS, Western, and Buyers snow equipment, how cool is that.
All in all, we had about 40-50 of us there to hang out at Bdubs Novi. Thank you again for coming out, I had a blast getting to meet you guys!
Now, let's get back to plowing that snow and making that dough!

This meetup was like a few hours ago and you already got a nearly 20 minute video edited and posted not even a half a day later. So much respect! Out here in New England I have never seen a back drag plow. 80 percent of the trucks run a Fisher plow and sander and the other 20 percent run Boss. I personally like the Fisher for the small push plates, the simple mounting system, and the chain lift.

I was the 2011 ford with the Backblade last season I plowed with a 96 gmc 2500 with the same back plow. Doesn’t need to be new to make money!
Old reliable trucks are just as good as brand new flashy trucks, if you know how to maintain them, amen. I've noticed a trend though as younger guys have nicer trucks, not to be "cool", but they just aren't as mechanically inclined, broadly speaking. (Myself included). Just a generational difference, I feel.

Love all the different set ups, surprised to see all the salt set ups, we don't have that much call for it but December we had like 7 snow events with another for last 2 days. Last one was about 8 inch before was a foot
amazing job putting that together and showing us so many options. Really working hard thank you

Loved the video. Living in Tennessee, we don't see much of the white stuff. Its 65 degrees in the middle of February here. Are you planning a LAL 2023? We came up last year for our first one and loved it!
The back blades definitely seem to be a Michigan area thing. I haven't seen one guy with one in my state yet

Cool video. All very nice trucks. Average guy had 3-4 years experience. I was driving a piece of junk plow truck with 3-4 years under my belt.

Imagine the winds shifting and blowing that lake effect snow machine near Ann arbor lol. Would be nice to see some guys help! The cities can't keep up with this pace. Even to the point of paying the helpers back. Be safe out there Brian. It took less than 5 minutes for you to be dead in dangerous wind-chills. Great rigs too!

I really liked the red and black 2019 ram 3/4 ton. By the way that was a really good idea to get everybody together instead of having to do a bunch of different videos knock it all out In one shot plus you get to meet more people and it's a fun environment Also a great way to scope your competition.
Amen! I thought this was a much more productive approach lol. As my family grows, I have to think smarter, not just work harder! Plus, it was so cool meeting 20+ new people that our local to me. It's all about networking and helping each other out.

Man it woukd have been great to here experienced guys on what controllers they prefer, joystick or the handheld contorllers. Gas or Diesel and why. . Transmission and turbo lag on diesels.. Wings or no wings on the boss

I run a 2018 Chevy 3500 diesel dump. I went with the diesel for the power, the engine brake, and resale value. I never had any issue with turbo lag on any of my Duramax's it instantly spools then I run about 1700 to 2000 rpm in first gear. The transmission generally runs 190 to 210 for normal plowing, in heavy snow I have seen 230. I can't run any kind of straight blade because they block the transmission cooler going down the road while my Vplow doesn't. For a controller I like the Fisher Fish Stik it's comfortable, easy to use even on hour 30 of plowing, and I can fit my spare controller in the glove box. I run a 9.5 foot Fisher XV2, I dont run wings only because it would make the plow too wide for most driveways.

Brian , I got your snow contracts last year & I was wondering if you have anything for large commercial accounts like Lowes , Homedepot , & Walmart?
Hey Kyle, I don't honestly bid anything that large. You could easily scale up with our proposals for sites like that, it's no different. Just make sure you have strong language in the legal section to help in case anything ever went to guns, or with late fees. Other than that, we've had guys acquire million-dollar snow contracts with FedEx and UPS with them, nothing out of the ordinary.
