Why the Carnivore Diet Is So Effective

  • The Carnivore Diet does so much. It's a powerful elimination diet, ridding us of many plant and vegetable toxins that diminish health and shorten lifespan. It lowers blood sugar levels and prioritizes fat as a primary energy source, offering a stable and efficient means of fueling the body. In discussing one of the core basic benefits, I invent a new term, "nutritional leverage," where humans benefit from the energy animals acquire from plants. The carnivore diet does not just give physical health benefits, it puts into a deeper connection to human history and efficient use of energy.

Got cancer 2016 which began an awakening period and healed w keto focused lifestyle. Today survived a lot of negativities for migrating to an animal dominant diet on my way to eliminating prediabetes, cognitive issues, obesity, a whole range arthritic joints, on and on. Today at 61 am going for the win, am very physically fit, and will work again. I believe I can live to near 100 like many of my Sauk ancestors. Carnies rock! We truly are the rulers of this World that God intended us to be. Please make a choice to heal, you have nothing to fear and a lot to gain.

It was 5 years getting to carnivore through low carb, fasting, reading labels that finally convinced me the US food supply has been poisoned. Now on OMAD carnivore slowly losing that last 30 lb, feeling fit, pumped, great blood flow at 58 years young.

Carnivore here for the last 5 months now. Started at 235 pounds at 5 feet 10 inches tall. Type 2 diabetic on 52 units of injected insulin and 2000 mg of metformin daily. My A1C was 7.5. I was going to lose my toes if it continued. Doctors said there was no way out except to increase insulin. I said no. I went carnivore. Today 5 months later. New A1C is 6.6 and still dropping Zero meds. Yes thats right zero metformin and zero injected insulin. I have reversed type 2 diabetes. I have lost 40 pounds and am now at 195. I eat beef and water, venison, and salmon. Beef liver once a week. Today may average blood sugar equates to an A1C of 6.4 My next blood work is in July. My goal is 180 pounds and an A1C of 5.4. My testimony.

As an ex-T2D..carnivore reversed raging T2D, cured terrible GERD, lost 85 lbs of fat and am presently down to "optimum weight", dry itchy patches gone, skin tags gone...I still measure my blood glucose a few times a week to make sure carnivore WOL is keeping T2D in check, I also measure ketones every now and then after extended fasts, and measure my waist, as I just recently closed in on a waist-to-height ratio of 0.5. I have a titch to go. Again, as an ex-T2D, I am getting A1c & fasting insulin every 6 months for at least another year, and then annually. I measure these things to keep me highly motivated. It's not for everyone, but type 2 diabetics should know these numbers continuously until, like me, have achieved reversal. It's just my opinion though, but I found it kept me highly focused and I learned much about how different "foods" affected my blood glucose, and my N=1 confirmed that the SAD caused all that I listed above. These measurements were essential, for me, in my 1st year of carnivore & healing. ❤

@M.Sforza I was Dx with T2D with a A1c of 8.2 during a required physical for a new job in Jun 2023. I was blind-sided. I'm a 6' male, 66 years old, and was 255 lbs at the time of Dx in Jun. Went carnivore early Jul 2023 after research about T2D. I had no idea the weight was going to drop off, I was simply focused on reversing diabetes. What a great "side benefit," I told myself as I continued highly motivated to reverse that terrible disease.
By Christmas 2023, my A1c was 5.3, and my weight was down to 195. That's when my focus shifted slightly to achieving "optimal" weight, waist-to- height ratio and obliterating visceral fat and focus on body composition.
Today, my weight is 165 lbs...my huge belly was the last thing to go starting around the 1st of the year until now. I began walking 5k to 10k steps a few times a week at the 1st of this year, possibly this helped reduce my waist measurement. I didn't exercise at all before then. I got a DEXA Scan in Feb 2024 for a base measurement of visceral fat, muscle and total fat...and bone density. I'm scheduled to get a follow-up DEXA 1st of Aug 2024. Visceral fat obliteration and building muscle is now my focus.
Stick with it, you can do it!

You occupy an interesting (necessary and helpful) space here as a religious/spiritual leader who follows a carnivore way of eating. I say "necessary", because the whole plant-based movement had its origins in religious belief as well (the Seventh Day Adventist church), and on top of that, I've noticed that "spiritual people" (whether secular or religious) tend to shun eating meat, especially red meat. Even non-spiritual people (and most of the world) have been brainwashed to think red meat is either gluttonous and unhealthy or a nice but expensive "treat" to have once in a long while ("the less, the better!"). That was definitely me - I didn't actively shun red meat, but I never embraced it either (I just know that the few times I've had it, it's been amazingly satisfying). And now it turns out that red meat is one of the most nutrient dense and bioavailable foods we have on this planet. Go figure!
That said, I definitely see (and feel) how eating animals feels so contradictory to the loving and peaceful world that spiritual people want to move towards -- but if we truly look at how nature operates, it ain't so friendly out there! You eat or get eaten. Again, many would say "but we have to evolve away from this narrative"... the inescapable fact is that it's not just a narrative -- our biology is just not equipped to do so anytime soon, it seems. Not if we want to thrive, that is (we can't expect to raise truly healthy, thriving children on veganism/plant-based/low-animal-foods/low-fat/lab-grown diets for too many more generations; we're already dealing with so much infertility and chronic illnesses showing up at younger and younger ages -- e.g., Type 2 diabetes used to be called "adult-onset diabetes" but not anymore).
So, thank you for your influence here, and your calm, balanced and rational approach. I've been "carnivore curious" for a couple months now and thinking of doing it at least as an elimination diet for a few months. I just question my lack of discipline to stay on it -- have greatly minimized sugar and flour already after being a lifelong carb addict/sweet tooth, already have just two meals a day, intermittent fasting according to Dr. Mindy Pelz's hormone approach, always had to force myself to eat vegetables anyway, but I do love my wheat treats like bread (sourdough) and real Italian-style pizza and all that... But actually going carnivore still feels intimidating (in the sense that I might just keep falling off the wagon)... and definitely not looking forward to family pressure and misguided concerns. Already fielding some of that just because I've been avoiding vegetables and eating more clean, animal fats and minimal carbs.

Surprising benefit that started this week after 1 week almost strict Carnivore (I did eat a stick of purple asparagus in the garden, and I had tea to reduce oxalate dumping messing with my head & feet), but what's new with Carnivore instead of KETO or Low Carb, is i have been able to rest on my belly for a long time without the usual horrendous lower back pain & neck pain that usually happens after the first like 1 minute, for decades. I do like sleeping on my stomach if I could, but haven't been able to forever, so I start it but now I can last longer. Carnivore gives me a very flat lower belly too, hardly seems like me but I'll take it! Feeling younger in just 1 week! I'm 53. I started Carnivore bcz of so many videos I've been watching on it, and especially the one that says it will cure toenail fungus. I have it really bad on 1 big toe, and some on other toes that is new this past year, and the big toe got worse this past year than ever. My husband has it too and he says if Carnivore fixes my toenails then he'll try it too!! He needs it more for rebuilding muscle lost recently and for helping his heart too.
