  • Tina and Josh Fey traveled to Gulf Breeze for their anniversary but what they weren’t expecting was to see an almost 10 foot Mako shark wash ashore while they were relaxing on Pensacola Beach.
The couple said they contacted authorities to let them know the shark had washed ashore. They then took matters into their own hands once they realized the shark may have just needed a nudge back into the water.

Vollkommen richtig.

Some sharks like the Nursling Shark use buccal pumping, where they use their mouth muscles to pump water through their gills. Others like the Tiger Shark can switch between the two methods depending on their speed.

@@YGODueltainerJust because it was close to the shore, that doesn't imply that it has a taste for humans. I'm no marine biologist, but I do know something that's universally true about sharks: the fact that they don't like hunting down and eating humans. We lack fat and meat for their prey standards (yes even fat people) and therefore hunting us is just a waste of energy since the nutrients that they'll get back won't be worthy of such a chase. It is very important in nature to preserve as many nutrients as possible as you don't know when you'll be able to eat next. Sharks usually go for big fish, water mammals or turtles, which are worth chasing a prey for. Sometimes they eat whale carrion instead.
Also, sometimes water animals end up too close to the shores and end up on the beach, it might happen because of currents or because the animal in question simply ended up there by accident and not necessarily out of the need to eat.
In this case, we are looking at a huge Mako shark. Mako sharks typically hunt next to coastlines and mostly eat fish, (such as herrings) and not us humans
