Every song he sings is just perfect. What an absolutely fantastic voice. I love every song on all of his personal CDs and the four Survivor CDs that he sings on. Jimi was still singing strong in his late 50s and early '60s. One of the greatest rock singers! Never forgotten. 👏🎤🎹
Jimi was one of my dearest friends in the world growing up and especially when he sang for Target. Go back and listen to some of his early stuff with that band. They were my favorite "bar band" in Memphis for many years. They had 2 fantastic albums. RIP dear friend. Gone to soon.
Oh my gracious! I was able to find some CD’s of their (Target) music on Ebay last year. What a treat that was 😀. Much heavier sound than Survivor. I also found a song by The Debuts here on UA-cam. I believe he was a teenager at the time. What a voice this man had!
Those TARGET albums are Amazing. I have them on Vinyl, Mint condition and still sealed. The Remastered CD’s are great as they come with a booklet each and are a great read. There is also that 3rd CD by TARGET that was released a few years ago, another GREAT one. SWEET JIMI was a Beautiful, Kind Soul and so Humble and I miss him every single day💔💔💔
Jimi Jamison deserves more credit for his live performances not to mention he kept his high notes until the very end of his career. In my mind, he belongs right there with the guys like Daryl Hall and Mick Hucknall, perfect voice for Survivor sound. This amazing piece stays on my playlist forever..
Teardrops, falling from your eyes like raindrops Pouring from the sky, remember You used to have the love I needed Back when we were young Lovin' always came so easy Heaven shared our love, magic The first time that I held you You fit like a glove You'd soothe me, with a shrug of your heart you could move me It always seemed my love would find you When you needed a friend I would be the man who would understand you
What an excellent could not agree with you more. Cetera was my favorite with Jimi but Jimi is now my favorite with Cetera right behind. I think it’s because Jimi was so handsome and from I read he was an incredible humanitarian. Ironically they were both in bands that were unkind to them Frankie Sullivan Robert Lamm like to make it about themselves Lamm wants to rewrite history and Frankie sues everyone in the band
As a Brit, just over 6 weeks ago the only Survivor songs I knew were the big 2 and I hadn't even heard of Jimi. In that short period of time Survivor have overtaken Bon Jovi as my all time favourite band. Jimi has just blown me away
Please watch Firefest 2010 it is the best concert ever. He was with H.E.A.T and Tommy Densnder (sp?). Anyways it has deemed to be the best concert in Firefest history. Enjoy
This band was as good as Journey ! I know I'll hear about that statement...but Jimi Jamison's voice and Frankie Sullivan's guitar playing. Wow! 😳 They had great songs. They belong in the RRHOF.
Survivor was usually relegated to being that band that did songs for Rocky and The Karate Kid. I thought they were highly under-rated by critics. The truth is they were a band of super-talented musicians who put on incredible live shows.
"The Moment of Truth" was in the very first Karate Kid movie. It was Jimi's first recording with the band that was released. It came out 3 months before "I Can't Hold Back" and the subsequent "Vital Signs" album. m.ua-cam.com/video/GutdB6G75ns/v-deo.html&pp=ygUcc3Vydml2b3IgdGhlIG1vbWVudCBvZiB0cnV0aA%3D%3D
Electrifying performance - this performance ranks up there with "Solitary Man" for best male heartbreak song ever. The way the vocals change from sadness to anger is awesome - unbelievable how good Jimi sounds live, I've got chills.
Jimi sang with so much heart, passion & emotion! Love how he could have altered his voice for different songs! There will never be another voice like his ever again🤘❤🎶🎤
This video was shot well and caught Survivor at one of their peak live performances. Great vocals and nice guitar solo by Frankie. He looked so young and in great shape back then.
Fenomenal - ¡ QUE ARTISTASO !. Que privilegio el de los japoneses que tuvieron la oportunidad de disfrutar de este concierto cuando Jimi estaba en su mejor momento. Para mi este fue de los mejores conciertos de Survivor
Despite the fact that it's Bickler's song, Jimi does it great. Such passion. Why couldn't the live version of Jackie Don't Go be of this quality? I would personally beg Frankie Sullivan and/or Jim Peterik and/or Dave Bickler for that.
There was no way for me to know 30 years ago how important this song would be to me. Now everytime I think about my last girlfriend, I now think about this song.
I love this band and him especially..but Jim and Frankie wrote great lyrics. I remember thinking what they must have gone through to write the love songs they did... Absolutely amazing and his voice is still one of the best ever- saw him last year with Jim P at House of Blues in Chicago.still amazing...will fly anywhere to hear him sing..
Jimi, I will miss hearing your voice, seeing you live on stage, thank you for the beautiful music and memories you brought to this world, one of the many positive things you done for others but probably never knew to what extend. May your love for us forever live on.
I absolutely love this live performance. I wish that the DVD of the concert was available to buy in the U.S. Survivor is probably my favorite band. 1) I love the Peterik/Sullivan songwriting team. 2) I love Jimi Jamison's singing (tone, phrasing, power). 3) I love the guitar riffs. 4) I love many of the lyrics, find them memorable, and find some of them poetic (like "Burning Bridges"). 5) I love the keyboards.
Original singer wrote it..as good as Jimi was he cant hit the notes like Dave Bicklers voice..listen to original version off the 1st album hes not even close... I know it's your opinion but the 1st album was the best and Dave is on the Eye of the Tiger album...no disrespect to Jimi Jameson rip...
@@JW-hd6xx Jimi was a bariton. Dave is a tenor. Naturally it was difficult for Jimi to hit the notes the way Dave did, because they had different voices. But technically, Jimi was the surpirior singer. Dave had a very high voice, but he also sang very strangled, which ws why he lost his voice very quickly. Jimi, on the other hand, had the very broard and clear tone in his voice, which held up right until his death. That is a true vocalist

@@MichaelHolmgaard I get you Michael, but the songs Jimi sang after Dsve left the band, would be hard for Dave to sound like Jimi...im just talking about the 1st 2 albums..daves voice waS a little more powerful and he could hit any note..im a singer...so I understand how hard it is..sometimes you can't copycat the original singer and say he's the best singer survivor ever had ...the original is always best than a copycat...no disrespect to Jimi...i love his voice too..Dave should get more credit and he does not..he had a fallout withe Jim Peterick and left the band.... I think; after 2nd album.... so basically what I am saying,,, Dsve was a better singer for the Survivor band as a whole...Jimi could have started his own band from scratch and would have been awesome...
JW, Dave sang lead vocals on the first 4 Survivor albums. He developed vocal chord issues that required rest and recouperation. The band couldn't afford the time needed and replaced him with Jimi. One of the songs Jimi auditioned with was called Cry of the Wild Heart. Eventually, Jimi's version of it was released on the Extra Moments albums.
