xRiaZ HD Well the main one is Top Common Levels In Games. But I'm going to release 2 videos. They didn't mention that the silhouetted monster in the Toluca Prison of Silent Hill 2 has a very human scream when you shoot it through the bars, which in itself is totally unique from every other monster wail and is equally as disturbing.
They also didn't mention several other rooms from the Fatal Frame series, including the Doll Maker's Room (Fatal Frame 2) and the Blinding Room (Fatal Frame)
@@TheTheninjagummybear I bet it'll resurface someday, either when Konami collapses completely and they sell the license to somebody who actually cares, orrrr in the unlikely event that Konami gets it's act together and realizes it's sitting on an actual gold mine, and suddenly remembers how to make games. Then again, they already lost their best dev so even then., Who knows if they could even do it justice?
I've repressed the majority that nightmare from my memory, but all I remember is turning a corner, a brute PUNCHING ME IN THE FACE, and me screaming as I run past it toward the exit in the pitch black because I didn't have any oil left for the lantern
OMG XD the choir was how I developed the habit of chanting "crouch on down, hug the wall" as I play Amnesia, and I always stared at the floor cause I was too afraid to run face first into one
lmao. many a terrifying moment i've spent crouched, staring at the walls or floor. especially that first encounter with all the big wine vats. hiding behind a shelf in the corner, silently pleading that it just pLEASE GO AWAY AND LET ME DIE IN PEACE
Bioshock's black room where there's a plaster person sitting on a chair in the corner one moment and the next it's gone and behind, stabbing you in the back. Chills.
or the one with de corpse floating in the water once you enter at the end of the hall there is a door closing. When you get the goodies and turn back the tiny door opens and there is a medic trying to kill you that one traumatized me when I started playing Bioshock xD
in the doctor's area there is a room with some ice in it and a plasmid to the right. if you grab it your screen ices over and a guy is suddenly behind you. he only triggers to do any thing though if you make direct eye contact with him. i went behind a pillar and just kinda peaked out at him and shot him a couple times.
+Scully Same level, the room to the right down the stairs from restrooms? I shotgunned him in the face before turning my back on him XD guess I'll load the earlier save file to try that one. But yeah, splicers coming out of nowhere, Houdini splicers, the Circus of Values jingle... the game in general and that level in particular can be pure nightmare fuel.
Friendly reminder : dont watch this at night like i did ;_; Another friendly reminder : theres a settlement that needs our help , here i'll Mark it on your map
+Scrub true it wasn't so you got me there however like the saying beauty is in the eye of the beholder being scared also goes on different levels for different people
So glad the F.E.A.R. games had so many entries on here. Such a stellar series overall. Even part 3 was good imo, just no as scary as the first 2. That school hallway in F.E.A.R. 2 freaked me the hell out the first time I played it. :D
NDL Mongoose's narration is super creepy and always fits the atmosphere of these countdowns perfectly. He sounds terrifying when he says "THE. MANNEQUINN. ROOM. RESIDENT. EVIL. SIX."
The ghost room in Metro Last Light beat it for me. I mean, you always feel kind of uneasy when you drive through these all by yourself, however, when I stopped and went in there I wasn't expecting THAT. This kind of traumatized me when it comes to this game (not a trauma like a just witnessed a mass shooting). Out of nowhere, completely unexpecting you get to experience something so terrifying. If I play that game I'll never go back into this room. :D
I know, it's probably tame compared to the stuff from horror games on this list, but the small lab within the Team Galactic HQ in Pokemon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum is creepy. The music, the green vats with unknown things inside them, and the caged up and in pain Azelf, Uxie and Mespirit actually left me shaking in my most recent playthrough of Platinum
My most terrifying room in game is the Elementary school in Dead Space 2. Schools and horror games go like bread and butter it seems, this place is no exception. The place is dark, quiet, only slightly lit by tiny nightlights, you are constantly surrounded by sounds of creepy music boxes and the cries of children and babies. Here you also meet the crawler AKA Kamikaze babies. They are some of the most creepy enemies in Dead Space in my opinion. Even worse, the area is full of drawings on the walls and scribbles of paint on the floor which looks innocent at first sight, but if you look close you can see that some of these drawings are non other than Necromorphs and some of the writings on the floor and wall say MOMY IS SICK. You can also find several logs from teachers that Uncover alot about what happened at the school before the outbreak. Even then the children there had problems with good behavior, they began seeing creatures and having dreams, more and more began making drawings that quickly became creeper and creeper and the children were violent. This just perfectly shows how serious Dead Space 2 is with the creepiness. Did you hate this place too?
+Raysiclove I thought that room and the entire segment with Carla in Ada's campaign were actually scary. The Carla boss fight was terrifying, absolutely terrifying. Especially when that giant face comes careening down the hallway towards you and opens up into a gaping maw of teeth. The game really excels in the "body horror" department. RE6 is by no means a good horror game, but at the very least it did have a few scary moments, unlike RE5. RE:Revelations 2 was definitely a step in the right direction, and I have a good feeling about RE7.
+Raysiclove You're right. I had forgotten all about that room because so much of the rest of RE6 was action porn. Hopefully they'll proceed forward with things like this in future RE games. I am very optimistic about the Resident Evil 2 remake.
not that one. Can't remember her name but it was one of the little girl with yellow eye's room with the hanging mannequin doll parts on the ceiling. It could be called the doll room of Fatal Frame 4 but I wasn't sure what to name it.
+Uta-Mae i had a bad experience with the kids section in the library, I was working for volunteer hours and had to go to the kids section to put away some books. I saw two kids fighting with fucking pencils and told them to knock it off. One of those fucking demon spawns literally stabbed me with a pencil ;_;
seriously, stay out of the bathroom in slender. I went in and nearly pissed myself when i turned around and he was right behind me. over all. NO BUENO ITS JUST A BAD IDEA.
Kalista Moore Always go into the bathroom BEFORE COLLECTING ANY PAGES!!! If there's a page in it, it's only one, and you can leave it safely. If there isn't, you can leave with little to no consequences.
@@scrungobeepis5443 yes but if you do not collect a page for some time slenderman will become active in the newer versions of the game after not collecting any pages for 4 minutes the music will play and slender will attack you 🙃
I feel like Count Batula’s mansion from Conker’s Bad Fur Day. The game suddenly takes a rather dark and creepy turn here. As if having the whole mansion covered with zombies wasn’t enough, there are also some disturbing details like the soundtrack having sounds of babies crying and children laughing or a villager who runs away from you the moment you find him and then jumps off a cliff.
funny thing is I never found the doll room in Dark Souls 2 creepy, I was too busy seeing if there was anything I could use in there to worry about whether or not it was creepy, I do remember looking into the room through the window from the other room and finding it strange that all the dolls were gone but even that didn't really creepy me out
+Donald Grump (Horrificator) as far as I'm concerned a man is to be honest, strong (metaphorically and literally), and be able to take care of your family. With that said I'll keep the lights on.
Did anyone notice that the end of the system shock 2 room, "We do not know death, only change. We cannot kill each other, without killing ourselves." totally sounds like kindred from League of Legends? For those who don't know what Kindred is, its basically a lamb and a wolf who represent death. The story goes that upon death, a person may either choose to accept death (and get shot with an arrow by the soft lamb) or run from death, just to get chased down by the wolf. Now, Kindred have a few quotes that sound just like what you hear in the end of that scene. Even the voices are similar. Since this game came far before Kindreds release, maybe this was an inspiration to Kindred? Or there is something both took inspiration from.
I have PTSD from number 14. The song that plays in that room is the most terrifying aspect of it, the way the tempo gets louder, the demonic voices in the background. I can never listen to it again, so I avoid it. In fact when I read the topic, I looked through the video to see if it was here, just so I can avoid the music.
The room of upside down sinners is a reference to Chinese Mythology and is a reference to a moment in Big Trouble in Little China. In myth is a Hell of Upside Down Sinners where the condemned are forced to eternally drown as you are chained upside down from the ceiling as you are dangled in the putrid water for all time.
Awesome video! Love the concept and presentation. Lots of diverse, mysterious atmosphere to set the horror mood just right. Cannot wait for more! As a random note, exactly when #32 started, the cables from my headphones to PC loosened just slightly. I could hear all the sound effects, but no trace of voice. I was wondering why nobody was talking, and thought it was some sort of "this clip speaks for itself" until I replugged at #31. There is a lot of bass in the voices, or at least some in particular. Thanks for sharing!
Just like Heather, I have a fear of reflections. That room caused me to have an anxiety attack and then put me in a dissociative state for the rest of the day. It took me about three months to return to the game. Fuck that room.
all content was recorded by the team. Ocean House is a haunted house and comes under Top Haunted Houses In Games. or its a level, which would come under Top Scary Levels In Games
I've been listening to these awesome countdowns for a long time. I have to say, NDLmongoose is the BEST voice actor I've ever heard for horror countdowns.
Schools, hospitals, children, and bathrooms are scary because, in normal life, they represent safety and innocence but when put into the context of horror and violence, it is just disturbing.
a normal classroom is already terrifying being bored to death by a creepy teacher surrounded by annoying morons is so painfull and i have to live this everyday. people shouldnt be forced to waste their childhood with torture also i was expecting the hospital in batman arkham asylum with scarecrows toxic effect
I mean at 10:56 you can see as the man looks into the hole in the wall there are legs and arms fleeing to the left... and then the room is empty.... it's meant to be creepy, it's not a glitch
Oh, but that's no doll, that's a ghost, a player ghost. A player was in that room and then went to the left, in Dark Souls you can some times see player ghosts when you're exploring, if i'm correct those are in real time, if you see closely, you can see a bigass axe before the player ghost moves and leaves.
They are people in the gents bathroom in bioshock. It's the trademark of Sander Cohen (a character/slight antagonist). He likes to make statues of still living people, which can be seen throughout his level.
I always found the child's room in Timesplitters Future Perfect as a odd room with a ghost child that's never seen :/ cause why's a child's room in a Creepy Mansion lol
Man the voice work in these are great. I wish they could narrate my life. "Jblask gets up and pours himself some cereal. Now he is brushing his teeth."
Remember when I said I found World 6-Castle (New Super Mario Bros. Wii) scary? I remember why now. It's the last room before the boss. Specifically with the spike balls and those platforms making the spike balls fall from the ceiling.
*casually walks down hallway while listening to video * "the mannequin room" *immediately shits pants on contact * goddamn tats! Your voice! I love it!
I would through some of the locations from Vampire Bloodlines in, like the basement of the abandoned hospital or several rooms at Kings Way - and of course nearly every room at the Ocean House Hotel (with special mention to the boiler room). They are creepy as hell. And I don't know, if it actually can called a room, but sincere there are several corridors in this video: the corridor in the Deep Roads in Dragon Age Origins, right before you encounter the Broodmother is creepy as hell - especially with Hesmeth and her crazy poem. Just some suggestions, if you planning on doing more of those compilations (please do - it's fun to watch)
Well I've got two things to say: 1. Don't know I should do this nearing midnight... 2. I may have mentioned this before Tornado...I mean Tats...but I would really like to see the "Most dangerous countries to drive in" remade in SFM. Is that on the to-do list anywhere, or did I just miss an update somewhere along the line? Ah well. Now time to watch a video that may give me nightmares. Who knows? I'll have a full report in the AM. :P
I've missed your videos so much! I was so excited when I saw that you posted multiple videos at once. (Btw, who else got a bit sad when they showed PT? Still haven't quite let it go)
Then I guess I just don't get the same rush you sadists get. I remember walking around in the first Slender game, I caught a quick glimpse of Slender, and was like FUCK THIS SHIT I'M OUT!
We should have had the true lab from undertale in this list. It was so unexpected and so out of place in the normal humorous nature of undertale. also. those fucking amalgamates.
Salty Ocelot its unfortunately not made yet, but is in our upcoming lists. For more info on future lists I would recommend checking out our Ultimate Top List Archive =)
The Cohen Sculptures, as mentioned by the Bioshock books (not that one in particular in the restroom) seem to be people that were living, many tortured and killed and a few plastered alive.
I don't know if grammar is all that important when talking. I mean, yeah. In writing it is, otherwise people aren't going to understand a thing you're saying. But when speaking...I dunno.
Well....honestly I've never come across a video where poor grammar interfered too much with what someone was trying to say. I'll admit word choice is often a factor by mainly spoken dialogue relies more on infliction and making sure you're understood. What's easy to understand in spoken word is often very different from what is easy to understand in writing, since spoken word is much less formal, thus you don't need to rely on it as much to get your point across.
Stumbling over words and placing emphases on the wrong words isn't grammar. It's diction. Least I think so. Not an English professor so I'm not 100% on the exact terminology. But I don't believe that come under grammar. It might be because I simply don't recognize grammar when spoken. But if that's what we're talking about...yeah. I kinda noticed that too. I think what they might have done is let everyone write and perform their own clips so that would explain the inconsistency.

"Bye." -Turns around slowly..
top 36 might be the most ridiculous number i've seen
YGSource ikr
It's really sad that they cancelled P.T - it looked so promising. :(
seriously, stay out of the bathroom in slender.
I went in and nearly pissed myself when i turned around and he was right behind me.
over all. NO BUENO ITS JUST A BAD IDEA.
Kalista Moore
Always go into the bathroom BEFORE COLLECTING ANY PAGES!!! If there's a page in it, it's only one, and you can leave it safely. If there isn't, you can leave with little to no consequences.
go in *_AFTER_* collecting all pages? ok
As if having the whole mansion covered with zombies wasn’t enough, there are also some disturbing details like the soundtrack having sounds of babies crying and children laughing or a villager who runs away from you the moment you find him and then jumps off a cliff.
funny thing is I never found the doll room in Dark Souls 2 creepy, I was too busy seeing if there was anything I could use in there to worry about whether or not it was creepy, I do remember looking into the room through the window from the other room and finding it strange that all the dolls were gone but even that didn't really creepy me out
PT and the rooms from the F.E.A.R games however, those are the stuff of nightmares right there
Aha! Jokes on you, I have my lights on!
Then you will never be a true man.
+Donald Grump (Horrificator) as far as I'm concerned a man is to be honest, strong (metaphorically and literally), and be able to take care of your family. With that said I'll keep the lights on.
What if the power went out :)
then goodbye internet lmao
The royal family tomb scared the shit out of me when I was 8
With that hentai pic,I can't take you seriously.
mm hentai
+Whitecloak Blackthorn I'm fairly serious even though my pic is a photoshop of Iggy Pop's gut
+Xantheman6283 Not sure is Sona or Hatsune Miku.
Not sure if world is worth living in considering the options I just laid out.
+Whitecloak Blackthorn ;)
The scary voice guy is the shit. Who is he?
I thinks its NDL Mongoose, in other words a badass
Ikr! HE'S THE BEST AT THESE KIND OF THINGS!
Wish he narrated all of the entries.
+Treetops97 I just wish they had someone proofread, because as much as I love his voice, his sentences sometimes just fell apart.
I wish NDL Mongoose narrated my funeral.
Coming back to this video really takes me back. Glad you didn't lose that charm
10:05 PM. Lights off, curled up in bed, alone in my room. Going full screen. If I don't return, leave my belongings to my three cats.
Nope nope nope can't do it hell no
the hallway of silent hill pt? so.....all of silent hill pt, then.
A good choice also would have been that abandoned house in Slender the Arrival and or Kino der Toten in COD: Black Ops Zombie mode. :)
"Join us on an adventure through the top 36 most terrifying rooms in games"
No thanks I'll just be screaming here in midnight
You're safe in the comment section here have a cake🎂
+Chris The Crystal Neko Fox No. The Cake is a Lie.
Eric Lotz You got meh..THE CAKE IS A BOMB!
Chris The Crystal Neko Fox The Cake is Not a Lie. The Cake is a Pie. A Pie Bomb 🎂💣

Or there is something both took inspiration from.
thats pretty interesting Darren, thanks for sharing that with us. I didn't know about that =)
I have PTSD from number 14.
The song that plays in that room is the most terrifying aspect of it, the way the tempo gets louder, the demonic voices in the background. I can never listen to it again, so I avoid it. In fact when I read the topic, I looked through the video to see if it was here, just so I can avoid the music.
"It shoulds like there's a demon making a gurgling sound!" in doom 3? YA DONT SAY
I find the toilet to be a scary room. smells like death a lot of time
HEY
Oml-
Why am I watching this before bed? Great video though!
Mongoose should give the title voice for a Resident Evil game. "The Mannequin... Room. Resident Evil. 6". That was incredible.
I love that so many of these are from F.E.A.R. Truly brilliant games. Thanks for the shout out to Bioshock as well, one of my favourite games!
I wish p.t. Was still on the store
Silent hill pt was the scariest shit I've ever played
Real scary rooms are found in games which aren't even supposed to be scary.
MadVinylist true. they're amplified by the players lowered guard. so it makes them 10 times scarier.
So glad someone pointed this out. I was going to leave a comment myself if I didn't see someone already do it.
The White Chamber’s Hell Room Music made me wanna crap my pants upon hearing it
The school hallway from f.e.a.r. 2 was a huuuge nope
Kinda surprised that the Ocean House or Death Mask Productions from Vampire: Bloodlines didn't make the list.
fk me! ocean house was scary
all content was recorded by the team.
Ocean House is a haunted house and comes under Top Haunted Houses In Games. or its a level, which would come under Top Scary Levels In Games
+Tats TopVideos Somehow the only videos I get scared from are made by you...But anyway great job with the video.
That was excellent i have played almost every of these games. Nice video.
you deserve more subscribers...this channel is awesome!
+Elizabeth Jasmine Nino thanks Elizabeth =)
The hallway pt
Otherwise known as " the game pt"
None of these was truly scary. The true horror was when they skipped the green herb in the mannequin room.
Fear is subjective, after all.
@@Reagan1984 ? You do know he was making a joke, right?
@@KennyLunacy
I was much stupider three years ago.
I also wasn't much knowledgeable of RE.
I'm surprised the nursery from Dead space or the orphanage from Bioshock 2 wasn't on this list.
I've been listening to these awesome countdowns for a long time. I have to say, NDLmongoose is the BEST voice actor I've ever heard for horror countdowns.
Schools, hospitals, children, and bathrooms are scary because, in normal life, they represent safety and innocence but when put into the context of horror and violence, it is just disturbing.
a normal classroom is already terrifying
being bored to death by a creepy teacher surrounded by annoying morons is so painfull and i have to live this everyday. people shouldnt be forced to waste their childhood with torture
also i was expecting the hospital in batman arkham asylum with scarecrows toxic effect
me But that would be just the gas making you see that, the actual room wouldn't be terrifying. Right..?
Virgil Sollozzo 😭
At 10:56 you can see all the dolls running out of the room, it's not a glitch...
oEnder0 oh yeah I noticed it too, but the narrator said nothing about it so I thought it was nothing...
You mean the white figure there?
I mean at 10:56 you can see as the man looks into the hole in the wall there are legs and arms fleeing to the left... and then the room is empty.... it's meant to be creepy, it's not a glitch
Oh, but that's no doll, that's a ghost, a player ghost.
A player was in that room and then went to the left, in Dark Souls you can some times see player ghosts when you're exploring, if i'm correct those are in real time, if you see closely, you can see a bigass axe before the player ghost moves and leaves.
Silent Hill 4. Room 302. Straight up.
Nicd video. Everything is perfect. The list , the explanation, and the narrator giving you chills xD
Nice* also by the way idk why but i rewatch this video every half year lol it's too awesome
Horror themed game videos are by far your best ones. Keep doing stuff like this in the future!
27:03 - A Schrödinger's Cat reference?
These videos always manage to calm me down for some reason, you guys never fail to entertain :)
Nice video! I enjoyed the whole thing. I love how you described the feelings a player might experience while in these rooms. Very nice touch.
Stalker have some creppy rooms too
27:00 Reminded me of Supernatural's Yellow Fever episode. Couldn't help but laugh.
Guy who does the voice in 29 has the best voice I've heard
Man the voice work in these are great. I wish they could narrate my life. "Jblask gets up and pours himself some cereal. Now he is brushing his teeth."
Remember when I said I found World 6-Castle (New Super Mario Bros. Wii) scary? I remember why now. It's the last room before the boss. Specifically with the spike balls and those platforms making the spike balls fall from the ceiling.
Luigi's mansion? I've seen enough.
fuck those zombies in ocarina of time!! freaked me out as a kid, kept on playing tho..
Oh hi Mark
Well I've got two things to say:
+dabhdude Well f*ck. I'm only 20 seconds in...jeez this is gonna be a long video.
so how did it go
how about outlast?
The gym or The library for me :D
how a bout the evil within
I liked the list... but for some reason the narrator voices grated on my nerves
ESPECIALLY the guy who read Resident Evil 6
I few voices here grated on my nerves as well, but they were most likely told to sound like that, so I can't get too annoyed
true.
the voice is super deep and cracky.... drives me crazy
The only narrator that does a really good job is the one that did PT.
yoo the voice narration is freaking beautiful
I've missed your videos so much! I was so excited when I saw that you posted multiple videos at once. (Btw, who else got a bit sad when they showed PT? Still haven't quite let it go)
Why do people do this to themselves?
Because we are idiots.
+fireclaw316 For the adrenaline it releases it the body. Just like rollercoasters.
Then I guess I just don't get the same rush you sadists get. I remember walking around in the first Slender game, I caught a quick glimpse of Slender, and was like FUCK THIS SHIT I'M OUT!
fireclaw316 you mean masochists? :P
Hereforthe Lols Sure.
We should have had the true lab from undertale in this list. It was so unexpected and so out of place in the normal humorous nature of undertale. also. those fucking amalgamates.
+Salty Ocelot yeah thats on our top scary levels in games
+Tats TopVideos oh wow. thanks for the quick answer tats. hey can i have the link for that video?
Salty Ocelot
its unfortunately not made yet, but is in our upcoming lists. For more info on future lists I would recommend checking out our Ultimate Top List Archive =)
Tats TopVideos honestly, you replying to my comment is like asking where the bathroom is and nick cage answers you.
Salty Ocelot
I guess thats a bad thing then?
Nothing from American Mcgee's alice games? Shame!
The Cohen Sculptures, as mentioned by the Bioshock books (not that one in particular in the restroom) seem to be people that were living, many tortured and killed and a few plastered alive.
You know what’s really scary, the narrators mic quality, then they try and deepen their voices to sound scary. That’s what is truly terrifying
What I hate the most about this vid, is the "fake" and "phony" deep scary voices the people narrating this do.
Roo And what I hate the most is that Tats Tops Videos won't tell us where to find the beta trailer for Mirrors Edge!
Honestly, that's just what the guy sounds like. Like he aint putting that on. It really IS that deep.
..
Adding a few inflections though.
