My name is Jerilyn and welcome to OUR HOMESCHOOL TABLE! I am a mom of three kids! My oldest is nine and in fourth grade, my middle is three and my youngest is almost one! I taught Kindergarten for six years before I began staying home. This is my fifth year homeschooling and love sharing about all things homeschool!

Can’t wait to watch your review of level D Sonlight readers!
We will be doing Sonlight Language Arts D/E next year. So I am grabbing all the books for D&E la but would love to pick up any extras that are in D and E readers pack that aren’t in this level.

We use Sonlight HBl alongside CLE Reading and it’s working well. The reading instruction, vocabulary, story element instruction, and etymology in the upper levels convinced me to use all of their reading through 8th grade. My children also read for 30 min a day independently and that when they read the Sonlight readers. Narration with this helps round out or reading curriculum.

Thank you for sharing! We loved the CLE Reading so much! I might talk to my daughter and see if she thinks it would be manageable. Do you just do like 2 lessons of CLE a week over the whole year? How do you structure it?

@@jerilyn-ourhomeschooltable 2nd and soon to be 3rd grader has CLE Reading all year. Thanks to how well the programs taught her to read she can do their program quickly. In these grades she reads every other day and has comprehension questions the days in between. She loves the SL readers so she reads them during. Independent time.
My 5th and 6th graders did the CLE reading every day until it was done. That was their choice. I will see how they feel next year. They both read Sonlight books in their independent time as well.

@@Grace_Filled_Homeschool Oh right. The younger grades are a full year. 😃 Thanks for the recommendation! Our homeschool conference is coming up. I might look for some used copies or good deals. 👍🏻

Thank you! I used the teacher’s guide mostly as just an answer key. I liked having it, but you could probably do without it. 😊
