Thank you for your vid, it's cool to see an instant reaction to the songs. We are stoked to finally get a chance to vote for our entry. Not that it's easy lol. My 3 faves are Kate, Electric Fields, and Sheppard.
This selection is on fire! Either Electric Fields or Kate goes to Eurovision. But I really want Electric Fields to go this year! That song can bring the house down in Israel.
As an Australian fan of Eurovision I am so excited about our national final, and I'm even more excited because I'll be in the audience on the night that we choose our act! It'll be a change for me from waking up early in the morning to watch European national finals. I really like the diverse range of songs in the selection but it does make it difficult to choose which act to send to Tel Aviv. While my personal favourites are Dust and Set Me Free, I believe that 2000 and Whatever, Zero Gravity and On My Way are more likely to capture the audience on the first listen. I think that the performances on the night will be a crucial deciding factor.
As an Aussie Matt we are so excited to be finally able to choose our own Artist and song for Eurovision. Much like yourself we are finding a handful of songs extremely hard to choose between. So far it seem Sheppard, Electric Fields & Kate Miller Heidke are the favourites. Personally my Fav is Kate's Zero Gravity, what a Gem of a song that jumps in and out of genres, I hope she wins next Saturday when we finally get to Decide. Its is being broadcast for international viewers on SBS facebook page. I hope you Watch. Keep up the good work. ps. its a kick in the Arse not butt. lol
It’s great to see another Aussie on here! I’m in complete agreement about how difficult it is to pick out the front-runners in the competition, everyone that I have talked to about the acts have had a different favourite song and I believe it will only get more difficult once we see them live.
Yeah, the first Australian selection is strong as heck. I loved a lot of the songs too, it's crazy... Btw, same selection of songs in the top 3 as me! Just switched between Electric Fields and Kate Miller-Heidke (I'll be happy if either one wins :D)
I'm all about Electric Fields! If '2000 and whatever' doesn't win, I will slip into a depression. It's so different and awesome! I can't have 'Statements' happen all over again, I just can't...
I was sad when Seemone didn’t win in France, then I was REALLY sad when Barbora didn’t win in Czech Republic. But if 2000 and Whatever doesn’t win for Australia, I will slip into a depression as well.
gosh!!!! what a selection!!!!! speechless!!!! i can't decide, but my top 10 is: 1/2. Kate Miller-Heidke - Zero Gravity 1/2. Electric Fields - 2000 and Whatever 3/4. Aydan - Dust 3/4. Sheppard - On My Way 5/6. Alfie Arcuri - To myself 5/6. Mark Vincent - This is not the end 7. Leea Nanos - Set me free 8. Ella Hooper - Dara dust 9. Tania Doko - Piece of me 10. Courtney Act - Fight for love
Hey Matt, great video! I also have pretty much the same top as you. 1. 2000 and Whatever 2. Zero Gravity 3. Set Me Free I giggled a little bit when you said that you already had 2 favorites in the middle of the video, because the first 5 are arguably the worst of the bunch lol
Matt, you are such a wonderful reactor😀👍. Excellent review; totally agree with you! What a level Australia has. I take my hat off too. We in Spain should learn from this.
Pulling for zero gravity cause it sent me to another world took me back to earth then rocketed me right back into the atmosphere, but the Australian NF is giving Sweden a run for its money
I just discovered that Australia's relocated to Europe (between Iceland and the UK) ...you might find this amusing from 0:48 ua-cam.com/video/tCWUYHm-jSM/v-deo.html
I am from Australia.... don’t know what to do... I love Electric Fields so much... but I keep hearing Zero Gravity in my head calling me all the time... those two songs would be a success in Eurovision.... I might just vote for my 2 favourites... can we send them both? 😃
I would love to see them collaborate some time, but for now I know Kate will nail it because she's such an experienced, brilliant and professional live act
Electric Fields or Kate Miller-Heidke, both are amazing, clearly the best of all the songs for Eurovision 2019 I've listened to so far. Pity Australia can't send both.
Winner Zero Gravity. Final scores: Zero gravity-135, 2000 & whatever-114, On my way-87, Fight for love-59, To myself-49, Dust-48, This is not the end-38, Pieces of me-23, Set me free-21, Data Dust-18.
something to say about the last song, Leea Nanos - she’s 16 years old and she produced it herself, she was about to give it up for someone else in the Melbourne area (her city) to use, but someone in the Australian delegation found out and instantly chose her as a wildcard for the selection! pretty cool story
1. 2000 & Whatever - Electric Fields 2. Fight for Love - Courtney Act 3. This is Not the End - Mark Vincent 4. Set Me Free - Leea Nanos 5. Zero Gravity - Kate Miller-Heidke 6. Dust - Ayden 7. On My Way - Sheppard 8. To Myself - Alfie Arcuri 9. Piece of Me - Tania Doko 10. Data Dust - Alla Hooper I have been playing nine of the songs on repeat so I’ve had time to appreciate them. On the first listen, Electric Fields knocked me out of my seat.
"Zero Gravity" is my favourite. I like "2000 and whatever" and "On my way" too. I think "Zero Gravity" will work better live (amazing singer and less production in the voice) than the other songs, specially than "2000 and whatever", I think it will be annoying live.
The only two songs that actually caught my attention where “fight for love” and “2000 and whatever”. All the other songs to me sounded like I could hear them in a mall. And “zero gravity” caught my attention for all the wrong reasons. It sounded like some hippie music that supposedly heals you. 😂😂
Here in Australia, the Top 3 will be 2000 and Whatever, On My Way and Zero Gravity in whatever order. But Australia will either vote through either Electric Fields because it culture and cool mixed together or Sheppard because they're well known and the song's good.
I highly recommend you listen to more Kate Miller-Heidke, in particular "Last day on Earth", "Caught In The Crowd", "Can't Shake It", "Words". so so good!
My top 3🤩 1: Sheppard, maybe a little more generic but still gives you the excitement 2: Electric Fields, I like the chorus, verses a little less 3: Kate Miller-Heidke, like the first part of the chorus, but the rest of the chorus sounds a little to much like Estonia last year, so its my number 3
I'd like to see Electric Fields up there to show another side of Aussie music, Kate and Ella always deliver 110% on the live stage, it really is a tough choice to make.
I thing it's a quite good selection of songs and they are all more than descent. But I am not as amazed as you are. The only song that really impresses me is Zero Gravity. If they go with that, it will be my favourite Australian entry so far and I'll be glad to see them scoring high. I am not exactly impressed but definitely satisfied with the tenor as well. Nice powerful almost operatic ballad. I love the vibe of it. And it would be a very different approach after the previous Australian entries. I 'd root for that. I also fell in love with Alfie but not with his song as well. It is ok but he deserves better. 2000 and whatever is kind of experimental but not daring enough for me. I'm not thrilled. I think other countries have much more interesting daring unique suggestions for this year. Generally, I am very satisfied with the first Australian national final. All songs are good, all songs are better than their worst entry so far (2017) and at least two songs are better than their best entry so far (2016). Nice year for Australia then. Well done! Now I just hope they pick wisely.
I'd be so glad if Mark Vincent was selected to represent Australia. Overall I'm not happy to see Australia giving the people the chance to send an entry (based on my "people are idiots" policy that has stolen two victories so far), but you have to recognize the effort, Australia has a wide range of songs to choose from. But yes, my pick will be Mark Vincent and his brilliant tenor voice.
Zero Gravity is definitely a mish mash of different styles and reminds me of Lorde’s Green Light in the sense that there’s no real flow from one part of the song to the next . So it doesn’t know what type of song it’s trying to be . But the chorus is kind of interesting and unexpected .
Sheppard and electric fields are my absolute favourites, but with the latter I don't know if all of those effects are possible to replicate live, I don't get Kate, Courtney is autotune at its best. In the end, Sheppard FTW
They are all great! I like Zero Gravity and ELectric fields best I think ;-). I just hope they do better job with staging than last year. One of best selection I must say. Good luck Aussies xxx I wish the songs from Spain, France and Czech Republic were one of the losers from selection (come on, you only going to have 1- be good sports and share!)
Electric Fields please!! I love it! And I will be listening to this song for a long time whether it gets chosen or not. Kate is a fantastic singer, but the last minutes it goes too operatic for taste. Mark Vincent has a great voice, but the song is just so-so. Sheppards song doesnt do anything for me I'm afraid; a nice piece of work, but doesnt catch my attention. Anyway; an absolutely great selection Australia! Regards from Norway
If Australia sends shepherd they will........ Be hosting the Eurovision in Sydney in 2020, Honestly I feel winner vibes and if it wins the Eurovision it will be one of my favorite winners ❤️ from Ireland 🇮🇪❤️🇦🇺
Thanks for the reaction video. So glad you like our song!
wearesheppard will be voting for you on Saturday !
Love you guys!
your song is my favorite!
Wow!! Your top 3 was exactly how we voted in Aus. They were also my personal top picks as well.
My fave is 2000 and whatever!
That's my top three!
same me too!
Thank you for your vid, it's cool to see an instant reaction to the songs. We are stoked to finally get a chance to vote for our entry. Not that it's easy lol. My 3 faves are Kate, Electric Fields, and Sheppard.
I actually typed my comment before you gave your top 3 … and yes, we picked the same :)
If they choose 2000 and Whatever or Zero Gravity they'll be top 3. So good selection.
This selection is on fire! Either Electric Fields or Kate goes to Eurovision. But I really want Electric Fields to go this year! That song can bring the house down in Israel.

Electric Fields is the winner,I will be very upset if Australia doesn't send it to Eurovision

Lol on slipping into depression
@@linus98765 Well, I exaggerated a bit, but you get my point 😆
I was sad when Seemone didn’t win in France, then I was REALLY sad when Barbora didn’t win in Czech Republic. But if 2000 and Whatever doesn’t win for Australia, I will slip into a depression as well.

You have the best reaction on the internet.....well done beautiful sir! I'm glad you like ZERO GRAVITY😁😁😁🤞🤞
Matt, you are such a wonderful reactor😀👍. Excellent review; totally agree with you! What a level Australia has. I take my hat off too. We in Spain should learn from this.
The song that captured a spark for me is ¨ This is not the end ¨ by Mark Vincent . The calm and depth of that song is captivating .
I have just one thing to say: Electric Fields
2000 and whatever ALL.THE.WAY.
Courtney's 'FIght For Love' would sound fun in a club, but man there is way too much Autotune there apart from the melody being a little flat.
Lol when he was listening to 2000 and whatever i was just thinking wait forrrr it.... KATE!!!
ELECTRIC FIELDS YASSSSSSSS WINNERSSS
Australia has a really strong selection.
My top 3
1. Sheppard - On my way
2. Kate Miller - Zero Gravity
3. Ella Hooper - Data Dust
Zero Gravity is my favourite by miles. On my way 2nd.
I have a feeling that Matt is *very* happy right now!
yes I think he will be too!
1. 2000 and whatever or On my way.
2.
3. Zero Gravity

Australia is giving so much to Eurovision. Best thing ever that they were included

Electric Fields or Kate Miller-Heidke, both are amazing, clearly the best of all the songs for Eurovision 2019 I've listened to so far. Pity Australia can't send both.
Pity indeed
Winner Zero Gravity. Final scores: Zero gravity-135, 2000 & whatever-114, On my way-87, Fight for love-59, To myself-49, Dust-48, This is not the end-38, Pieces of me-23, Set me free-21, Data Dust-18.

I read somewhere that she is Australian born with Greek heritage? not sure if true but her surname does sound greek.
1. 2000 & Whatever - Electric Fields
2. Fight for Love - Courtney Act

set me free is so underrated. With the proper staging it could be really magical and steal the show
When will you react to Festival da Canção songs?
I like Zero Gravity a lot but I think it'll need a very thoughtful staging.

Why didn’t 2000 and Whatever win! 😭 I do agree Kate was amazing but still she took my queens down 😭😭😭
Can't wait for the Melodi Grand Prix (Norway) reaction.
Matt, you were exactly like me when reacting to Sheppard!!
I just really dig Sheppard’s song, I hope they win! I love Sheppard’s style of music. I like Courtney Act’s song, but it’s so heavily auto tuned.
I'd be so glad if Mark Vincent was selected to represent Australia.
