One of the greatest moments I have ever had the privilege of witnessing in 50 years of Australian Olympics viewing, pressure like Cathy Freeman and Ian Thorpe or our Three Day Eventing Equestrian Riders in Atlanta and Sydney and bringing the gold wrapped chocolates home and the privilege of hearing Richard in commentary…..Sublime….. We rode every word of your mega insight and it felt like I was right there with Jessica because of your sublime commentary with such technical and emotionally connected insight. And to be an Aussie and watch an Aussie triumph while being the underdog as let’s face it Jess qualified 8th, well it reminded me of watching Australia Ii win the Americas Cup. What a grand privilege it was to share in this moment in personal triumph family triumph and national triumph. Thank you Foxes
I remember watching this last Olympic during Covid. Had no idea who Jess and her dad were. Only watched because it's an Aussie competing. Been watching her and the game since. Super proud of her and her family. Let's keep it going Fox fam..
Love this! It was a thrilling win. The commentators didn’t grasp the audible gasp from the spectators when the German athlete hit the gate. Plus that dad was a famous canoeist too. Congratulations from Great Britain. 🎉❤
Congrats from Korea! I didn't watch this game but I was able to catch the canoe match next day where she won another gold. It was really impressive... She did it so clean and honestly had no match...!!
Brought proud tears to my eyes! It would be so hard to commentate your daughter's run as well as her competitors & try & show no bias. He needs to learn off our cricket & soccer commentators where being neutral doesn't exist 😂
That was nice. Almost made this "tough bloke" cry. We really lucked out getting Jess, she probably would've been a champion no matter where he parents had decided to repatriate, but I'm glad it was in Oz.
Well done Jessica Fox! It is a pity however that her race couldn't be seen on a full TV screen with the commentators' "boxed screen" popping up on the right side of the TV screen taking up space and the race couldn't be seen in "full" TV screen. Every other Olympian in that canoe race got "full screen" without the commentators' screen popping up on the right! We don't want to see the commentators, we want to see Jessica Fox's canoe race! Please don't do that next year!
Her race was shown live on “full screen” without the commentators’ screen, and the full final is available for viewing on 9 This is just an edited package, focusing on her father’s reaction.
Your daughter is amazing, well done Fox!
Best bit is how quickly her dad switches from commentating to coaching
not to mention how he continues to commentate when the last athlete faulted and now over celebrate daughter's win. Humble and professional.
Find me a more composed parent in that situation anywhere in the world…you won’t.
How incredible.
That’s the Aussie spirit
Cool , calm and collected .💙💙
Australia you’ve got no idea how much of a phenom Jess Fox is.
She’s the Biles/Ledecky/Garnbret of canoeing.
No we are well aware of how amazing she is.

These Olympics have been so amazing. If you really deep dive into the highlights it's amazing. So many cool stories.
When Sir Richard says he’s going, only the lion hearted would stand in his way!
Well done Jess.

Love this! determination wins gold
Her dad was an amazing competitor. I was lucky enough to be on the water with him in a training session many years ago. Simply brilliant
Jessica Fox I Am So Proud Of You & The Whole Of Australia!
Amen!
She is a freak and such a great role model for Aus sport!!
Congratulations Jess you are an absolute legend 🥳

Foxy lady. Coming to getcha! 🥇🥇🥇 True Aussie Legend ❤
Great race ! So deserved.
Congrats from France !
Congrats from USA!
How she handled the upstream gate at 1:09 was mind boggling!
A superstar of the highest order
He becomes Dad on the second half of the run. His cadence changes as he begins to talk through the run with her rather than announce it as it happens.
Goodness, how they manage those waters are just incredible.
Congratulations to the winner, who looks like Superwoman 😊
That looks really hard. Well done.
This is awesome

Just to be clear to everyone that is not Jaime Fox
Just Beautiful..
Love this ❤

sooo good!
Very good commentary too!
So skilful.
Too good
I love how her dad is sitting next the commentator
he was commentating the event too
Wonderful
Great moment. Well done Jess.
Eye of the tiger 🐯
A Kodak moment
Too bad Channel 9's website is rubbish with such few replays and highlights. Surely every sport should be covered ??
Crazy to think that without those penalties the German would have the exact same time as Jess
