Yesterday my parents and I went to the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway for the first time. It was a brilliant ride. We saw Cattle, Sheep & Horses grazing in their fields as the train went past along.
That tunnel was my playground in the sixties, it was still a live line before the heritage line took over many years later. my school was just a few hundred yards from Winchcombe station, happy days.
I just love steam trains, amazing engineering. happy days! hope u and jenny poppy had a wodeful day and linch afternoon tea scones jam cream pot of tea tristan
Hi Bob, I remember, there was nothing nicer than dropping the carriage window down with the leather strap, putting your head out the window and getting your eyes full of soot and grit from the steam train. Cheers Bill
Glad you enjoyed the ride on the trains because my wife Lynne is a volunteer on there & works in the shops at Broadway & Toddington while I go for a ride on the trains on special days So we will also be taking a short weekend holiday with our Van up to Broadway sometime. wel done & good work again with your videos.
Hi Bob, Jenny & Poppy of course, yet another informative blog video, like others have said, we always look back to see where you've stayed and looked at the reviews, this one for the Steam Railway is a great addition, keep up the good work and we look forward to your next instalment 😊
Enjoyed watching this with my morning cup of coffee and thank you for putting the artist's name and track up on screen. Really appreciate what you both do. 😊👍
Excellent descriptive entertaining and informative vlog as usual Bob n J. Enjoyed joining you on the journey Many thanks for this and all your content Regards H
Lovely video Bob and Jenny and it’s one of my favourite heritage railway lines the scenery is lovely we’ve gone from toddington before and they have only extended to broadway fairly recently At one time they wanted to put the middle of the line back through Evesham and up to Redditch but it’s not possible in places now I gather (The top part of the line is still in use) Looks like you all had a lovely trip and glorious weather I bet the driver and fireman were hot!
Thanks for the video Bob. Spending a week at Broadway next month as part of a tour celebrating our 35th anniversary, your arrival video and this one have been very helpful in planning, wife has limited mobility but I now know she will manage walk to station, and where I would like to get a pitch on site. Enjoy the rest of your trip
Lovely trip Bob,love a bit of steam.never done that line, seen the trains going past while on Broadway site, also when we have stayed on the Cheltenham racecourse site, you can see them in the distance, Great.
*quickly googles* The Shapthorne Tunnel on the Bluebell line is the longest on a Heritage Railway. The channel tunnel is 35.31 miles long. Northern line (Morden to East Finchley via Bank), London - Length: is 17.27 miles. At 57 km, the Gotthard base tunnel is the longest railway tunnel in the world.
This is my most favourite line in the country, I’ve traveled it so many times and I go 2/3 times a year, will be there in 2 weeks stopping at Cheltenham, Toddington to Broadway isn’t my favourite stretch I often stick to Cheltenham to Toddington as my limit. I tend to avoid steam trains though 😂
@@BobEarnshawMoHo I think it’s just an age thing, steam ended in August 1968, I was born May 1968, I lived by the railway for 47 years and can only remember diesel 😊

Wonderful P&O steam train and definitely a trip back in time which puts current trains & stations to shame.
I enjoy your arriving at campsite vlogs and I don’t have a motorhome or van or tent😊 Really like your steam train adventures.
Thank you 👍

Lovely video, i love steam trains. I wonder what is the longest tunnel? the one on the pennine express seems long.
