Not the same thing but I remember running onto the ground at Edgbaston in the year 2000 at the end of the match. The next year, they banned it. It had always been a big thing before then.
@@ajs41 I can't say it's something I miss all that much. It seemed ridiculous for the team to score the winning run, or take the last wicket, to then have to run like hell for the pavilion immediately afterwards just to avoid the demented hordes running on to the pitch to snatch a stump or slobber over one of the team. Now it's much more civilised. There are plenty of things I don't like about the modern game, but the lack of pitch invasions certainly isn't one of them.
The quotation is not quite correct. This statement was made by the Australian batsman,David Hookes, who suggested that the speed at which Bob Willis bowled was comparable to that of a spin bowler when compared to Michael Holding.
An entirely magnificent collection!
Thank-you!
I always loved how Amiss continuously raised the bat in his stance at the crease.
That Amiss double century was simply amazing. Out of nowhere, after a series of being battered.
Oh what a macnicent batting Viv Richards well done
Thank you so much for allowing us to share in the exploits of these "Masters of cricket".
Beautiful voice of BJ
Amazing to think they'd let people run on the field and touch the players back then. Different times.

Forgot just how well Dennis Amiss played Holding Roberts etc. Made them look ordinary at times.
Holding is the fastest bowler I've ever seen...
Viv Richards make Bob Willis look like a spin bowler
